The Carroll Villa Hotel

We had a great experience at Carroll's. The people, great. The location, great. The room, great. The breakfast, great. Cape May, great.
I could go on but you get the idea.

This was our first time at Carroll Villa Hotel. The rooms were so nice, the food at the Mad Batter was excellent! The customers and employees at the bar were so friendly and welcoming. We were so close to the Washington Mall and other great sites. The history, charm, location, food, and staff make the Carroll Villa Hotel an all time favorite, and we can't wait to come back. My husband and I visited Cape May to unwind from the holidays. The staff made us feel most welcomed, and the rest is simply a great testament to the hotel and restaurant management, the bar staff, all waiters, waitresses and the seashore feeling that comes while walking the streets of Cape May. This was our first time staying at CV and it won't be the last. We loved it! Our room was perfect. Free parking, effective 1/1 was a great plus. The hotel is a beautiful old house and our meals at the restaurant were very good. Our room was pretty but very small (my fault for not thinking about sq footage) and was fine for a one night stay. The only downside to a historic building is the heating unit in the room did not warm the bathroom. This would have been ok, but we only had lukewarm water for showers.

We stayed at the Caroll years ago and chose it as a perfect location for visiting Cape May village for the Christmas holiday season. The staff at the hotel as well as the Mad Batter restaurant we attentive and friendly. Check in was smooth (I booked directly with the hotel rather than 3rd party, easy). We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend it to anyone interested in the relaxed beach town environment and close to the beach as well as the various businesses in the village.

The hotel was very festive, decorated for the holidays. The staff was pleasant and courteous. The Mad Batter Restaurant was very convenient and food was delicious. There was good entertainment in the bar. This location is wonderful and it was an easy walk to most of the town's highlights.

We had an outstanding stay. The room was great as was the staff. The restaurant and the service was not only convenient but excellent as well. We will be back next Christmas. Happy holidays.

The room we stayed in was perfect for our needs. It was on the smaller side, but we knew that going in, and saved some money by staying in room 18. The bathroom was new, clean and spacious with a heated floor which was a nice touch. The bedroom was cozy, clean and well appointed. The location of this property is perfect for either beach or walking the shops and restaurants. Breakfast at the mad batter located on the first floor of the property was delicious with tremendous portions. We were provided with a $30 voucher each day, which covered the cost of breakfast for 2. Staff was friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to stay again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Carroll Villa in mid December 2026–our fourth or fifth stay over as many years in summer and winter. The staff and accommodations are great on all counts—the friendly service and feel of a family owned boutique, with the amenities and location equal to any competitors in the area. The restaurant being on location (and extremely popular in its own right, with excellent breakfast/bar/music) makes it extremely convenient for families.

Location is perfect for a downtown experience….so close to everything. Staff is super friendly. Beds are very nice and the stay was fantastic. Spent an hour or so in the bar area and had a couple of drinks while listening to live music. Would highly recommend this property. Thumbs way up!

We had a wonderful fall stay at this lovely inn. So close to everything, the location is perfect. The beach is steps away and the shopping and dining options are plentiful. We were treated exceptionally well by manager Pam, Linda at the front desk, and the housekeeping staff, who went above and beyond. Our two room suite was adorable and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the voucher for breakfast was great. The Mad Batter is THE place for a great breakfast or lunch. All in all, I’d give this quaint hotel 5 stars and highly recommend it! Thank you to everyone at the Carroll Villa Hotel for a memorable stay!

Room was spacious, clean and really nice. Bathroom was modern and had a heated floor, which was great! Staff are friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Restaurant and bar downstairs (The Madd Batter) is excellent for both breakfast and dinner

Once again Carroll Villa Hotel provided us with a fabulous getaway weekend. The accommodations are great, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the location couldn’t be any better. The Mad Batter is the best restaurant in town, so why eat anywhere else ? We will keep coming back.

Just did one of our yearly stays at the Carrol Villa. We always have a great relaxing time. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Perfect location in Cape May for any time of year. Near the beach, near the shopping and all the great places to eat. And the deals with the Mad Batter are wonderful. Highly recommend staying at the Carrol Villa.
