Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Destin

The hotel is nice, clean and modern. Front desk checkin person was nice and fixed an issue that booking had made with our reservation. There are 2 pools, an indoor one and an outdoor one, which worked great for both a sunny and rainy day. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was good (total breakfast as other Fairfields) although they were pretty overwhelmed on the first day we stayed and ran out of everything, but had it replenished soon after. Location is good, close to Destin attractions and right on the 98. We picked the location because we thought it was right on the beach (Howard beach state park), but 98 is quite wide at that point and the park has dunes between the road and beach and although you can walk to the beach, you might as well drive since it’s a $6 entry fee if you take your car or walk and there was plenty of parking on the beach. Do not pay extra for the beach front rooms as you can’t really see the beach (it’s too far) and it’s right on 98 so those are the noisiest rooms. Overall, good value, good stay. Would recommend.

Great hotel close to restaurants and the beach

The room was dirty and very run down. I didn’t have a hair dryer in my room. My iron didn’t work. I asked for a new iron and it took the staff 3 days to get it to me. I called the front desk several times and no one answered. Not even once. At least 3 wall outlets didn’t work. All of the drawers were off track and hard to open. The wardrobe doors weren’t screwed in all the way and the doors did not close correctly. The refrigerator did not get cold (thankfully I didn’t have to use it). The toilet did not flush correctly and it was not stocked with a fresh roll of toilet paper and there were rings in the toilet like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. It took at least two flushes every single time. The air conditioner has a mind of its own. I turned it off and it continued to run. When turning the air up - hoping that would stop it from running - it smelled like it was burning. Room 224 definitely needs some attention.
The front desk staff were very friendly and always greeted me.
The housekeeping staff were rude and acted like it was a huge inconvenience when asked for simple necessities like toilet paper.

It was excellent I had much fun with family

Our stay was very nice. Housekeeping was amazing. I should mention breakfast. Both people that worked on. It were wonderful, especially Winsome. The hotel is directly across the street from the beautiful beach that is a state park only cost six dollars to get in for the whole day.

I found the staff and the hotel very very nice very knowledgeable about the area gave great advice of dining and spots to go visit I rate this hotel as A1

The location was perfect with the beach across the street and accessible via walking or car. Walmart next door for last minute items needed. All restaurants and entertainment within a reasonable distance. The staff was very friendly and the Continental breakfast was delish! I wasn’t initially interested in going next door to Fudruckers but was pleasantly surprised at how cool it was. We walked there and it took 1 minute. Fun place. Next time we come out to Destin, we will stay at Fairfield again.

Good area for restaurants and shopping. Drove daily across the street and into the property for Henderson State Beach $6 per day. Went to Miramar free public beach also. Room on first floor across from elevator a bit noisy, especially with delayed waiting as only one elevator working, which seems to be a long term problem. Good AAA rate.

Honestly the primary reason we booked this hotel on a one night travel layover was the indoor pool, but we were told the in door pool was closed at 10pm until 10am and checkout is 11am. So what even is the point if an indoor pool that is closed for half the day and most of the hours guests have access to the hotel on a one night stay? And we asked the hotel staff if it was possible to use the pool regardless of the restrictive hours policy and they refused.

Walking distance to the beach and lots of restaurants/activities. Friendly staff. Price was nit too bad. Clean lobby and rooms. Indoor pool was perfect temperature for evening swim. Only down side was they roped off over half the parking lot to PAINT it and made parking difficult for over 2 days.

The breakfast was delicious. Very clean & comfortable rooms
