Pros:

The front lawn was spectacular, and the front desk service was good. The size of the rooms was excellent, as well.

Cons:

There were bugs everywhere. There were moths in certain places on the property, ants and gnats in our room, and flies in other spots. It was really disconcerting and impactful in terms of our stay. Also, while some of the buildings on the property are grand and gorgeous, others are old and outdated. Some hallways were dank, humid, and smelly. The fitness center is oddly configured and needs fresh air; the bathrooms need updating, especially with ventilation and light fixtures; the property feels a bit haphazard. The location is great, though, and I would love to give the hotel another chance in the future.

Real nice.
Pros:

Comfortable campus. I love the history.

Cons:

Breakfast in May 2025 was more substantial than my stay in April 2026. This was noticeable, though breakfast was still adequate

What a disappointment!
Pros:

The property is lovely. The tennis courts were unusable-no nets and not maintained. Our balcony in the King Mansion had rotting wood and chipped paint. The outdoor furniture was stained and dirty. The lawn below the balcony had a table with wet, dirty cloths from a prior event that was left out all week. It was unsightly. There is no attention to detail here. We made numerous calls to the front desk.
There were bees swarming on the balcony for several days. Thank goodness we aren’t allergic, as the response from the front desk was that there was nothing they could do about it.
The closet door stuck and had to be pried open if closed all the way.
The shower/bath faucet control didn’t work.
In the morning we were awakened at 7:45 a. m. by loud drilling in the restaurant below our room in the King Mansion. This is the second day we were awakened by the constant construction noise from the restaurant below our room. We also had to listen to the noise throughout many days during our stay. This has been extremely disappointing, as the estate is a lovely place for a relaxing get away. Unfortunately, it was not so relaxing while we had to listen to the noise, even from our balcony. We also had to listen to the loud, booming, bass from
a speaker coming from the private event tent, on an Thursday evening until sometime after 10:00. Had we been made aware, in advance, of these issues, we would have chosen a different week for our stay. We came here to relax and celebrate. What a disappointment on several days.

Best in Class Stay and events
Pros:

I have hosted and attended several events at the Tarrytown House Estate as the Executive Director of the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber and as a private individual with frriendsZ. The Murder Mystery dinner was a blast - great food and entertainment; they hosted a breakfast networking event and impressed the 50+ members in attendance with their hospitality and food. I highly recommend them to residents and tourists looking for a place to stay or entertain.

Beautiful space and helpful staff - shout out to Oralia!
Pros:

I stayed as part of a work retreat. The property is beautiful and staff member Oralia in particular was fantastically helpful, kind and attentive to our large group in the Carriage House. She paid attention to the details - friendly greetings, holding the door open, keeping things clean - in a way that went above and beyond!
