Check-in was very smooth, accomodating to our early check-in request as there was availability. Also very helpful in arranging transportation to JFK at an early hour.
Common areas are a bit tight.
Location and manager honesty
Manager contacted me 3 days before arrival to tell me they had a leak and the room I picked would not be available. They offered me another room that was about 200square feet smaller with a free standing aiconditioner, (I noticed that it had a very ugly decor upon arrival). I explained that if it was nice and space enough for me and my puppy, I could stay in it. But upon arrival, it was clear it was not close to expectations. I regretted my choice on having accepted it over the phone. The room proposed was ugly, old, noisy freestanding aicon (not all of them are noisy and that was not explained to me beforehand). I was offered an alternative room, smaller and without balcony, nice decor, no rate reduction (only given no pet fee, which I would have been happy to pay if offered a similar room), but it was the only choice. I could not go elsewhere at such short notice. So, manager honesty was nice, but I was only given a free pet stay and stayed in an inferior room. The staff at the reception seemed unable to handle more than one client at a time and I had to wait for check in, Others were very friendly.

The location was great— far enough from the noise and chaos but convenient to the subway and lots of great stores and restaurants. Our corner room was spacious for an NYC hotel room!
The rooms need some updating, but they were clean so it didn’t bother us much.

Staff was and the location is great
We stay here all the time, its pretty centrally located. Walking distance to Central park and just a subway ride over to time square. During the day it's active and busy with people going to work and at night it dies down.
Unfortunately the area seems to be dying down. Local restaurants and bars nearby are closing down. At night there's not much to do nearby .
I fell in LOVE with your staff, so friendly all of them, especially the sweet Japanese lady that always had a smile one her face, WOW, I just didn't expect all this! This Hotel57 was perfect for what I needed. Thank you so much.. I have a feeling I'll be back!!!!! I live in the Rocky Mountains for heavens sake.
I would of liked a better view outside my window but it really didn't matter.
I would of like to had breakfast at the hotel but that didn't seem to matter very much either.
There were plenty of places to find food.
