Review Highlights

Pros:
Excellent breakfast / food
Very friendly and accommodating staff
Historic charm and well-maintained scenic grounds
Peaceful, quiet atmosphere
Cons:
Cleanliness issues reported (dead bugs in a room)
Room quality problems (broken bed boards, bed firmness complaints)
WiFi not working for some guests
Limited in-room outlets and confusing A/C controls

Categories

Cleanliness
7.2
Mostly described as clean and peaceful by several guests, but there are notable negative reports (dead bugs in a room, guest cleaned a vent) that lower this score.
Service
10
Consistently praised: staff were super nice, gave tours, accommodated room changes quickly, and many guests called staff friendly and pleasant.
Location
9
Property and grounds (riverside, gardens, views of Lake Linton) are repeatedly praised as peaceful and scenic; one guest noted the surrounding city area is not ideal, but the site itself is strong.
Room Quality
7.5
Rooms are charming and period-appropriate for many guests, but multiple issues were reported: broken bed boards, bed firmness complaints, limited outlets, A/C confusion and a room change for some guests.
Amenities
7.8
Amenities have mixed feedback: breakfast and common areas are strong, but in-room amenities suffered (WiFi failures for some, limited charging outlets, unclear A/C controls).
Value for Money
8.6
Several guests noted the breakfast and overall stay were good for the price and would return; a few felt breakfast quality or offerings could be improved which tempers the score slightly.
Food and Beverage
10
Breakfast received frequent high praise (hot breakfast, real eggs, elegant surprise); while one guest disliked the breakfast quality, the majority described it as excellent.
Overall Experience
9.5
Guests frequently described the stay as peaceful, charming, and memorable, with many saying they'd return; isolated negatives (bugs, broken bed, WiFi) reduce but do not outweigh the positive overall sentiment.

Amazing historical B&B
Pros:

I love the historical aspect and beautiful architecture in this mansion. The staff is very friendly and informative. They also have a lovely breakfast with real silverware and china.

Cons:

The Montague Suite is amazing! We traveled with another couple who stayed in another suite. We would gather in ours to socialize and play games. However, the mattress could use a little upgrade.

Everything was great! I wouldn't change a thing. Third sentence to make the algorithm stop!

Pros:

Had the Rust room at the corner. It was very cozy. Wifey sure liked it a lot. The breakfast was properly good for the price. Walking the grounds along the river after breakfast was quite calming. The inn looked pretty scenic at night with all the lights, but we arrived too late and were too sleepy to enjoy that. The staff were super nice to give us a tour of the study and the hidden doors.

Cons:

Couldn't figure out A/C settings. Assumed they were central.
