Tower23 Hotel

We stayed in the surf king, with a wonderful balcony and ocean view. All around great location, easy to walk to a lot but otherwise a quick uber. Room was spacious. We flew in to see family in a performance and as it was mostly an in-law visit oriented trip, I asked to have some Prosecco sent to the room upon arrival so we could have a minute to decompress and enjoy the view - they kindly sent it at no cost, which would be indicative of the thoughtful service we received for the entirety. For reference, 40s, couple, no kids, NewYorkers. We also enjoyed some cocktails and nosh at the hotel bar which were great!

We visited for our 10 year anniversary and Tower 23 is a beautiful hotel and we will definitely visit again. We did have some challenges outside of the hotel and Austin in the valet area completely went out of his way to help us in a time of need. He is awesome and should be promoted immediately!!! The whole Tower 23 team has great customer experience as well.

Great location, very nice room, quietest air conditioning in the hotel. I’ve heard for quite a while. Staff was wonderful, especially the valets, and the restaurant was incredible

The staff is very friendly. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Loved the welcome drink. The room was clean and comfortable and had a fantastic view of the ocean. This was our first time staying here, we usually stay in another hotel close by. This place was better priced, quieter and a little smaller (which was better). We loved it and really liked having the restaurant and other places close by.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness and care. I was thoroughly impressed by the staff. We were fortunate that our room was ready early and they also gifted a stuffed animal to my little. The room was fabulous, too. The highlight for me was the huge bathtubs with jets, which mom and little both enjoyed. Location was awesome, close to both beach and great food & coffee. Would highly recommend.

Amazing location, reasonably-priced, and very kind staff. I chose this hotel for the weekend of our engagement, and the staff at Tower23 was so helpful in making it the perfect weekend for us by going above and beyond! I would definitely recommend this hotel, and we will certainly be back.

We had a wonderful time at tower 23 hotel. Great restaurant and location! Our view of the ocean was amazing! We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves breaking in the beach.

Staying at Tower23 was an amazing experience. You cannot beat the location of the hotel, the rooms are great and the patio is a perfect spot to relax. All of the staff are so welcoming, nice, and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

We wanted something boutique and close to the beach—not a big chain—and this place nailed it. It’s literally on the beach; you walk down a few steps and you’re there. The hotel includes bikes, umbrellas, chairs, and boards, so we rode the boardwalk every morning. The best coffee shop and best breakfast spot are right next door.

The restaurant in the hotel is solid, and if you’re into sports, they keep the games on the big TVs. Every employee—from the bartender to the host team to housekeeping—was upbeat and genuinely seemed to enjoy their job. It shows. We met the owner on day one and immediately understood why the place runs as well as it does.

We spent a lot of time on the patio people-watching with a drink, and during the day we lounged on the deck watching surfers. The staff cleans nonstop—they even mop the concrete. There are plenty of food options nearby, and La Jolla is just a short Lyft ride away. No car needed. After checking out the other hotels in the area, this was easily the best location and the coolest spot by far.

Location is not everything, but important! Tower 23 is a very nice hotel (the best in the area) with a great location and a wonderful restaurant. Try the Whiskey Sower.
It was my Anniversary, and the hotel had a bottle of wine in the room on ice at check in, supper nice staff.

Love the location of this hotel but the staff was lovely and made my stay even better …. The views are priceless and the rooms are great and large in size. I walked every day on the boardwalk and that was a treat!

My hubby and I stayed here for a week to celebrate my birthday. We truly enjoyed our stay. The customer service was outstanding. Steven was a gem. Our room was spacious, clean, modern, and well appointed. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and ate breakfast on our balcony while enjoying the gorgeous sunrise. We dined at JRDN restaurant several times (brunch and dinner) and the food was delicious. The hotel is beautiful and in close proximity to other restaurants, shopping, activities. We love Tower23 Hotel and we plan on making this an annual trip/stay. We highly recommend this wonderful property!

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Steven and Taylor, we knew it was going to be a great stay. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were good. Check in was a breeze and the location couldn’t be better. We’ll definitely be back anytime we’re in SD. Thanks

Absolutely an incredible hotel! The location is phenomenal: right on the beach, and pacific beach boardwalk, best sunsets and view of surfers and pier. The restaurant is SO good and have a fabulous happy hour! The staff and service is amazing! And the rooms are incredible! From balconies to big bubble baths and very spacious suites. There is a fabulous patio with a firepit and lounge area perfect for sunbathing, watching the sunset or getting some room service. They also have complimentary bikes which is so fun to check out the cool surf spots in the area. I will definitely be back. You will not want to leave!

Tower 23 is clean and inviting. Great views and great food. People watching from our balcony was super. Very good beach access!

I have stayed at the Tower 23, for years now. I don’t even remember when I first started visiting the Hotel but it is my go to spot every vacation we spend in San Diego. There’s no place better to stay when it comes to the staff taking care of you, and the cleanliness of the hotel But I’m going to first start off by saying that it only gets better. Each time we are welcomed as if we are family. They remember your names and do the best to their ability to make your stay a memorable experience. I visited the hotel in January and I didn’t have my service dog with me because he was under the Weather. They remembered him and asked where was he the following month he passed away. On my next visit in July, he wasn’t with me and my husband let Luis know he had passed. This visit I received the warmest welcome a personalized card with signatures from all the staff that has taken care of us over the years chocolate covered strawberries, and a nice bottle of wine . On November 1, 2025 I received a photo that my Boy was being celebrated at the hotel for the day of the dead what an honor! The staff puts gives great thought and care in everything they do and I can’t express how much I immensely appreciate everything that they have done for my family and I over the years. There’s no better place to stay in San Diego, California. Thanks to my Tower 23 family!

Perfect location on the beach. Modern and clean, makes for a pleasant stay. The staff was super friendly. Free access to beach gear and a bike was a huge bonus! Loved our bike ride, a must experience for coastal So Cal. I would definitely stay here again.

I cannot say enough great things about our entire experience. The view from the room was gorgeous. Every interaction with staff was exceptional. We attended an event at the restaurant and had the pleasure of working with Robbie, who was attentive, diligent, patient, and professional.
