A lovely stay in Sestriere
Pros:

The rooms, bathrooms, general hotel facilities and location were all great. The staff were very friendly, especially the two bar staff.
The breakfasts weren't as good as we had hoped, but it didn't really matter. Very nice coffees but the croissants were very stale and they ran out of a lot of the cereals by the end of our stay - only a choice of two and no muesli or raisins left.

Cons:

The breakfasts weren't as good as we'd hoped, but other than that everything was great.

Not what we expected
Pros:

Location and lounge/bar area was good

Cons:

Spa is very bad, especially for 25€ extra. The balcony had no furniture at all, it’s just an empty balcony. There’s a nightclub in the same building as the hotel that closes at 4 and the hotel has extremely poor sound isolation. This of course also meant you could hear everything your neighbors said.

This hotel seems almost entirely devoted to UK package tours and to be avoided if you can afford it
Pros:

The breakfast was OK. The scrambled eggs were watery and not very hot. Plenty of choice of pastries.
The bedroom was large with an excellent view. The beds were extremely firm for my taste.
The staff were generally helpful apart from the lady looking after the seating in the dining room. She made me feel as if I was back in the RAF being told off by the sergeant major

Cons:

The buffet dinner was beyond awful. By 8 p.m. it had almost run out of hot food (i.e two chicken legs) apart from heavy pasta and sausages floating in some kind of grease.

Spa facilities, ok, aside from having to pay extra for it.

Cons:

Room was quite small, whilst recently refurbished the bathroom was not and was a bit shabby
The spa was quite small, busy, and £25 per person per day extra was a little disappointing. Sadly one of the spa staff decided to be officious over spa bookings one day, when the spa was almost empty, then proceeded to make a mess of a booking for the next day.
The biggest irritation was the nightclub noise. I specifically requested a quiet room when booking given previous reviews and we were given one furthest away from the nightclub. The base thump was still audible from 10:30 through to the early hours.

Breve ma intenso: è stato un bel soggiorno che ricorderemo piacevolmente. Nonostante alcune piccole pecche da migliorare

Hotel di Montagna molto caratteristico, personale preparato ed accogliente, servizi ottimi.

Cons:

Camere standard da rivedere (soprattutto il bagno con vasca e spazi stretti) ingresso spa non incluso nel prezzo dell’hotel.
