Lovely relaxed hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Beautiful pool and jacuzzi after cycling the greenway.
Foyer was relaxing. Parking ideal. Seamless from start to finish.
Loads to do in westport.
The hotel is quite nice. The bedroom was fine but the bathroom really needs updating. The staff are all very friendly but we found service at times especially breakfast to be quite disjointed. Having to ask for tea and coffee, tables not fully set having to ask for milk, butter etc. Younger servers definitely need more training. The food was ok the vegetables were very repetitive on the set dinner menu. Overall we enjoyed our stay but having stayed in lots of four star hotels I find it difficult to class this hotel as four stars. The windows throughout the hotel are filthy and definitely are not regularly cleaned also the grounds are very poorly kept with weeds growing everywhere. Flowerbeds at the entrance to the hotel are even full of weeds which generates a very poor first impression.
I stayed here for 3 nights it was awful , first night I slept on a hard mattress we had no WiFi and no smart telly telly wasn’t even working properly , the bathroom was tiny very dangerous bath you had to climb over for a shower, cold tap wasn’t even working just hot worked , told them the following morning we really needed the telly for the kids and all the other problems, we went for the day came back told problems for resolved, but still no WiFi and mattress was moved over to another bed so my husband had an uncomfortable night , we were told then they would change our room but we would have no key we would have to contact the porter anytime we needed to leave or access the room so that didn’t suit us either , I would never go back again I never experienced this in a hotel before , I was fair never ask for money back or anything
As a family of 4 we had a wonderful experience at the Westport Woods hotel. All the staff were super helpful and friendly especially Kay at breakfast and dinner. She went above and beyond for our 2 kids. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. A 5 star experience from us and the kids. We will be back.
My husband and I recently stayed in the Westport Woods Hotel, when we checked in we had booked the Deluxe Woodland Double room. We checked in and paid the remaining balance and were given our room. We arrived at 'our room' which was not the room we had booked but a standard room, I spoke to the receptionist who informed me that there were no Deluxe Woodland double rooms available but said she would speak to a colleague. 20 mins later a colleague came and moved us to a room I found out later was a standard family room. I went to confirm that the room was what we booked and the receptionist was extremely rude. Your staff had no problem charging us for a Deluxe Woodland Double room with no intention of providing us with it. The room we were moved into was of an extremely low quality. I have attached pictures of the room and room number for you to see. I have also attached the picture of your advertised family room which is the exact room we were given.
The floor was stained.
Empty coffee sachets and dirty tray.
The bathroom was stained and dirty.
The safe was broken so we were unable to us it.
Doors - bathroom door would not shut properly, extremely stiff when locked. Main door hard to open and close.
At one point we wanted to use the phone to ring reception and realised it was not even set up.
We are extremely disappointed with our stay and the behaviour of some of your staff.
The only positive about our experience was Kay and your restaurant staff. Kay was so friendly and efficient and always had a smile. She is an asset to your hotel.
My husband and I attended a wedding here and stayed two nights. We arrived the day of the wedding, room was ready - first impressions nice room- first thing noticed was the broken sliding bathroom door that would not slide closed/move at all. Over the course of our two day stay we went to Reception a total of four times to request it be fixed - each time told maintenance would be contacted again. We checked out of the hotel and the bathroom door was never fixed and all we were given was “sorry about that”. I have emailed the hotel three times since we checked out to ask why we were left with a room with no bathroom door or why we were never offered an alternative room and two weeks later my emails have remained unanswered. I did not want to post a negative review as mentioned in my email to the hotel but as my emails have been ignored I am giving a truthful review of my experience here. I would not recommend this hotel because of their appalling lack of customer service.
We had a wonderful time staying with you at the Westport Woods Hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were so lovely, but we have a special affection for Kay, who made us smile every day.
The breakfast was outstanding; in fact, the kids are still talking about it.
We all enjoyed the pool and sauna, especially after we climbed Croagh Patrick, followed by a lovely meal in the hotel. We will look forward to staying with you again for sure.
Kind regards to all,
Aoife, Paul, Sophie, Rachel, and Cillian.
Lovely quiet room (107), great breakfast & bar food. Friendly, helpful staff especially Annette at Reception & Kay (I think) at breakfast. Leisure Center very nice & friendly staff. Good location, we were attending a Wedding nearby. Would definitely return.
Beautiful hotel, half way between the town and the harbour, so plenty of activity. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast with lots to choose from. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully get to stay here again
Amenity- and decor-wise, I would not consider this a 4-star hotel, but it is comfortable enough with spacious rooms (although maybe not for the price). However, there is absolutely no sound-proofing. It's the loudest hotel, motel, AirBnb, anything I have stayed at. Children running with stomping loud footsteps and screaming down the corridor at late hours, and I can hear the conversation the couple in the room next door is having even though they are speaking at normal volume. Can hear every time they drop something or go into their bathroom. If someone enters one of the rooms within a couple doors down from mine, my room shakes (and my own door shakes loudly in its frame) when their door closes behind them. It seems like these are all common complaints based on other reviews. The hotel is probably a great place for families, but unless you have REALLY good earplugs, sound machine, etc., you're at the mercy of your neighbors/fellow hotel guests for whether or not you'll be able to get to sleep.
We arrived wed 22nd for 3 nights, we had a great room. Dinner bed & breakfast included which was a great deal. Food was great, staff are very good. Pool was a great addition.
We had a lovely time at Westport Woods. The hotel room was very large, clean and comfortable. The lobby bar and restaurant were modern and you could tell it had a recent refurbishment.
We enjoyed the pool and gym which had everything you would expect at a hotel.
The hotels location was outside of Westport but we were able to walk in.
One feedback would be that the younger staff members while lovely and polite, could do with a little bit more training. At dinner our food order was taken and we had to attract someone’s attention 10mins later to get a drinks order. Also when my partner asked about beer selection the waitress came back with very poor information. He ended up ordering something that he wouldn’t normally drink, only to go into the bar later and find that they had what he was looking for.
Also our room was not ready despite arriving after 4pm checkin time and we were told to sit down and wait in the lobby as it could be 15mins. After 30mins I went up to the receptionist to find out our room was ready. We had expected that when it was ready someone would come over.
These are just little customer service things that annoyed us a little. Many of the other staff were very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the joyful banter of the room cleaning staff in the mornings as we walked by, sign of a very happy working environment.
My son did not use the kids club but it looked well organised.
Food was standard fare, breakfast had everything you would want but not the extra mile. Restaurant and Bar as you would expect for Hotel food.
Value for money was considered good.
I had a lovely overnight stay at Westport Woods on a Tuesday. The hotel was welcoming and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Claire on breakfast in particular was absolutely brilliant. She was so warm, attentive and genuinely went out of her way to make sure we were looked after. Her professionalism and lovely manner really stood out, and she is a real credit to the hotel. I would happily stay again!
Great location not in the center of town but a short walk, very spacious rooms clean and tidy. Didn’t go to the bar but looked good had food in restaurant it was nice and had adequate kids menu. Pool was lovely. Great value for money
My husband and I stayed in Westport Woods Hotel recently. I have to stress it is an outstanding hotel It is a lovely and convenient location, room was spacious and tastefully decorated, food was delicious and very generous portions. But what really stood out for us was,of all the hotels we have stayed in we noticed all of the staff were so pleasant, welcoming, courteous and at the same time professional. We will return to the Westport Hotel without doubt
The woods around the hotel is beautiful and we loved the bed and room size. Fresh and nice food for breakfast.
Location is very useful, walking distance to Westport House and city centre. Handy to rent bicycles and explore the Greenway.
Most of the staff is brilliant and friendly, but one waiter at the pub wasn't very attentive to us.
Secondly, the breakfast just provide basic black coffee and tea. Considering the price of the hotel, it would be nice they include barista style coffee without paying extra.
Lastly, the Spa is great, but a bit pricey.
Location and spa facilities
Very good breakfast.
Some friendly helpful staff- Annette on reception and Kevin in the Dining Room
Bar food was poor.
