Beautiful hotel well run
Great location
Not a lot
I loved the food and the breakfast the staff were very nice
I. Liked very thing it was great hotel
Great location, short walk into Westport
Rooms old fashioned particularly the bathrooms which were old and not very clean
The spa facilities are under construction - there was no jacuzzi, only a pool
Good location , excellent breakfast and lovely staff
Long queues to get into breakfast
I liked the lobby area, the leisure centre and gym
Rooms are outdated, needs a freshen up, bathroom toilet handle wasnt working properly. The service in the restaurant was very slow. The food is average. Breakfast is disorganised and over crowded. Light switches in the room didnt work properly. The restaurant is over bright, its meant to be a calming environment? Also a nice touch would be a small candle on the table. I wasnt impressed overall and I am not going back.
Staff really lovely- even under the pressure of a very busy holiday period .
Watching the young staff in the breakfast lounge lift excessively heavy trays of crocks to clear dining tables .
Staff were excellent. They couldn't do enough for you.
Senior staff were amazing particularly the Manager Rick who sorted a very bad dining experience with grace and generosity.
Beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean.
Unfortunately this is a good hotel which is very tired in its decor and facilities.
The pool and spa area was great to keep children occupied but was not a comfortable adult space, which was a major disappointment as I booked particularly with that in mind.
We had a horrendous experience ordering food in the bar. Waiting staff were badly let down by poor food prep and presentation from the kitchen.
A raw steak sandwich was returned to the kitchen, was then returned totally overdone. My daughter was ill through the night after eating it.
My fish and chips were inedible and returned. Batter was greasy and falling off the fish, which was so solid it looked and cut like chicken. Obviously frozen and not fresh as described in the menu.
Horrendous end to a wonderful 4 days in Co Mayo where the restaurants in Ballina (Poachers) and Westport (Friends)were flawless. The Beehive cafe on Achill Island also had stunning fresh food, putting the Wesport Woods to shame.
Plenty of parking, this is a big hotel and wedding venue. Lots of families and coach trips staying. The pool and spa facilities are part of the leisure centre so open to the public. I didn't try it so can't comment. Big room with comfy bed. It has a big bar area and music on alternate nights. Outside seating area at the back of the property. Breakfast had good choice. 20min walk into Westport with shop, bars etc. We ate in Giovanna's italian which was very nice and M J Hobans pub, also good. 10min walk the other way takes you to the Quay with more bars, boat trips and a shop with great ice creams. If you cycle there is a route called The Greenway from Westport to Newport on a dedicated cycle way, good for everyone. It is 20km each way. Cafes and bars in Newport.
Sink was cracked and stained as the tap is dripping/running all the time.
