We have been using this place for close to a decade and let me tell you, it's a dumpster now. It's been going down hill for about 5 years but the recent stay wil be my last.
First things first, the California restaurant is total crap. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are just horrible.
The worst parts are: 1. The waiting staff and serving staff are the same people. They clean the table and bus the used dishes and with the same hand WITHOUT GLOVES and stick it into the food bin. Good god... when I saw the woman just use her hands to mound the food and clean the table, it made want to gag. 2. None of the food is ever warm. Even a simple dish like pizza is cold and cheese is hard as a rock. I never once could get a hot bowl of soup or rice. Alway luke warm or cold. 3. Tables are always dirty and stained. Seats are disgusting too. 4. It's al carbo. No quality meat. Even breakfast scramble egg is disgusting powdered eggs. 5. Coffee is disgusting and not even warm. 6. Only diet coke. 7 No real fruit juice.
There is absolutely no redeeming quality to the restaurant. Wait staff is slow and disgusting. Tables are always dirty and hardly ever wiped. Food variation is horrible, tastes awful, and cold.
Swimming pool is now cold. Supposedly, they did some maintenance but they are so cheap, they never turned the temp back to normal. I guess this is the least of worries since the water quality during the summer is just so bad. The water is murky and filled with all sorts of debris. It is truly disgusting. The floor is so disgusting that most guests don't even take their shoes or sandals off even though it says so. I don't blame them. The floor looks like the toilet floor of Shinagawa station.
Outside pool during the summer is disgusting. Roaches are drowning in the pool. During the summer I ate at the Hawaiian BBQ which takes place right next to the pool and was disgusted when I shone a light onto the wall, only to find 100s of cockroaches on the wall. Eventually a roach had to find it's way onto the food island and that pretty much killed my appetite to ever want to go there again. I have no good memories of the BBQ.....
Now onto the rooms. The AC is horrible. I was given a room without any heat and it was so cold, my nose got clogged in about 20 minutes. I called the front desk which sent a Chinese woman who asked me if the wind wasn't warm enough for me. I told her that it was blowing cold air. She called in maintenance which ended up calling me on the phone to tell me that the AC is unfixable and will have to relocate me. Easier said than done. It took me close to an hour to unpack and now they wanted me to pack up, move my belongings to another room and then unpack again. I wasted close to 3 hours.
The rooms are uncomfortable. The constant blowing air makes your throat ache during the winter and the AC does not get the temp low enough to sleep during the summer. You just can't sleep well here.
The initial room without any heat was awful. It was a corner room on the first floor and when you opened the window, it smelled like a swamp, which is why they had an air filter in the room. The room itself was run down really bad. The bathtub area was disgustingly worn out, the ceiling was coming apart, the faucets were calcified and the caulking was totally moldy. The drainage system barely worked and it was at least 30 years old. The carpet was ripped, the ceiling was low, and the lights didn't work so it was always dark.
I could go on about the disgusting room but why beat the dead horse. Actually I could go on and on about this hotel but will keep it short. It's run down. The wait staff was disgusting, food was bad, room was small and dirty, pool floor was disgusting and the shower at the pool even worse. The housekeeping staff would just put the bath towels and hand towels on any surface when cleaning the room.
By now if you made it so far, you know how disgusting this hotel is. They just don't give a crap. They don't invest into their own hotel.
This is the last time we stay at Yurakujo. Never again.
Mold in the bathroom & on facial care packet. I bought bleach spray to use, pretty sure when we left we left the bathroom slightly cleaner than when we arrived. When we saw housekeeping they never had cleaning supplies, only changed out towels & bed linens & restocked toiletries. Bed linen was only changed when we asked, which is not uncommon nowadays. Room was never vacuumed, we were there for 3 weeks. No wash clothe provided. Breakfast and dinner buffet was very disappointing. Did not use the spa, pool or onsen. Ate once at the restaurant in the onsen facility & it was basically reheated food, & not even heated all the way through. Finding staff to help order on the kiosk was very difficult. Menu for the restaurant made it seem like a sit down restaurant, more mike an MCL Cafeteria but without drink refills. Had to bus our own trays too. Staff never helped with luggage, rarely saw anyone at the concierge bus. I was almost told to get on the wrong bus coming back from Tokyo one of the first nights. Couldn’t control the temp of the room so it tended to be on the warm side & humid. There were times when the lights for some floors were completely off, it was weird & creepy. 7eleven onsite was nice, though it struggled to keep things stocked in the cooler with all the tourist buses coming in & out. There are multiple convenience stores near by, along with a small grocery store.
Overall compared to when it was the Radisson, which all pictures used on websites are from that ownership, it has gone downhill tremendously. We had an amazing experience when it was the Radisson & were looking forward to another pleasant stay but eneded up being very disappointed to say the least. We were aware it was under different ownership, but did not expect the quality to drop so much. We will not be returning.
The hotel is a little tired however the room was clean with lots of amenities. The staff was friendly and very helpful Great place to stay if you are flying out of Nariyta
They need activity daily and wide range of foods that includes American food since eatery is called California n different buffet each day for breakfast n lunch n dinner meals
I wouldn’t say the property is bad, but it is incredibly outdated. It’s also located in the middle of nowhere. That being said they do have shuttles that can bring you to downtown Narita and to the airport. We personally only use the one at the airport and was quite happy with that choice. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again, but it was OK.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Does not look like the photos, far from anything to do, ac in the rooms cant be controlled so it was very hot very uncomfortable
Very clean but also very dated hence the price.
Lots of amenities, very friendly staff!
Breakfast is awesome
The pool, gym, Osen, light show, and sauna made my stay here well worth it
The property is a little dated but clean and spacious rooms. Staff were lovely and there is a convenience store open till 11pm inside the lobby.
You receive 1 ticket to adjacent onsen which was wonderful. Onsen has restaurants, bars and bathing too which was amazing! The air conditioning was not very good for a hot night but it was passable for the price I paid.
My only complaint was that the shuttle bus is only every 2 hours ….i had just missed one so had wait and a taxi was $50 to get to the hotel as its not super close to the airport.
This hotel is a bit old school but i love how they have so much to do. There’s a pool and a spa and also a seven eleven inside the hotel which gives easy access to late night food and snacks. Overall a lovely environment with friendly staff.
The AC was not working properly
I wish I knew that the hotel could accommodate with giving us an extra bed with extra fee at the time of booking. Their own site as well as Expedia was clear that they won’t do so we ended up booking and paying for 2 rooms for 2 adults and one child (11 years old), We used to like this hotel, it was old but has certain charm on it. Now it looks to me that they want to sell and market especially to Chinese tourists. The facility was noisy and crowded. Unfortunately I don’t think i can recommend to anyone.
I only had an issue with my first room. They changed me the next day and so much better. Everything the hotel offers is amazing. The tourist are the worst. But the staff were amazing, especially the front desk! They helped me and I am grateful for them. Thank you!
The buffet options were varied and tasty for both lunch and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions we had.
Black mold, hair, stains, holes in rug. Broken shower
The stay included a spa within the premises with make is unforgettable but they need to do something about the shuttle service from and to the airport as it’s too small and has very few trips schedule per day so it’s not enough for the guests arriving at a given time.
Smelly And dirty Toilet And room, dusty!
GSR are Not well trained properly How to handle the guest complaints. No MOD ON sight to solve the guest complaints.
Floods that their serving In the buffe are very pricey And Not very appetizing.
Did Not meet some of my expectations as a guest. They pit US In a very old, suggy and dusty bed. I Will Not comeback In this hotel
And I Will Not recommend IT as well.
There was good customer service.
