Comfortable and good value, but would benefit greatly from a revamp
Pros:

The grand is a lovely old historic building in a great position being close to the rail station and town centre. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Cons:

It’s an old building and some of it is showing signs of neglect, could do with a few improvements, our room was comfortable enough and for the price was good value but was suffering from damp due to the really bad weather recently

Нам все очень понравилось, спасибо!
Pros:

Great value for money, friendly and welcoming, fantastic location
Pros:

This is an iconic building in a fantastic location with lovely views of the bay. Our room was large and airy, very clean and comfortable. Food was good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The food choices were quite limited but this was understandable as it is low season and there were not a lot of people eating in the dining room.

Toilets unavailable
Pros:

Numerous reviews have been left about The Empress Suite gents toilets being out of use for over 3 years. The outside balcony area is great when the weathers ok but as for using the gents forget it, they’ve had them locked shut so there’s no gents available at The EmpressSuite side of the hotel which they don’t seem to have any intention of rectifying. I asked the duty manager about it and he said they’re still waiting for the contractor to fix the issue, I think 3 years is quite a while for toilets to be unavailable in the main ground floor bar area
