Location
The strange smell in the room like stale fried or burnt palm oil from a fryer
Hand rail falling off wall
This hotel needs a renovation to keep up with new modern sustainable world markets
Perfect location to enjoy the hubbub of the harbour.
A little worn in places.
The View when having breakfast
Me & wife took cold showers because apparently there was a problem with the water pipes 😡😔
Excellent location, and the valet staff are outstanding.
We have been coming here for 4 years now and every time we visit the level of service is downgraded whilst the price has increased.. not terrible by any means but disappointing for the price.
Fantastic location, lovely room & excellent breakfast, all delivered by friendly & efficient staff.
Noting
The location was very good and access easy. Our room overlooked the Marina and had excellent views.
Comparatively expensive for a South African hotel
Very disappointing experience — unacceptable for this price
I stayed at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel and paid 851 € for 2 nights, expecting the level of comfort and service associated with a premium hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
There was no hot water in my room for two consecutive mornings. The first evening I had hot water, but the next morning there was none. Later that same day, when I tried to take a bath in the evening, the water was only lukewarm. I informed the hotel about the issue.
The following morning, again no hot water, and I was told to go and take a shower at the spa instead of being able to use my own room. For a hotel of this standard, this is simply not acceptable.
To make matters worse, no compensation or goodwill gesture was offered, despite the repeated inconvenience and my clear dissatisfaction.
On the morning of check-out, I even received a phone call reminding me to leave the room because it was 11:10 instead of 11:00, even though the delay was caused by the lack of hot water. This felt completely inappropriate given the situation.
The hotel placed a notice in the room about temporary water interruption, but this does not justify the lack of proper service recovery or compensation.
For the price paid, this level of service is unacceptable. I would not stay here again.

Die Lage ist fantastisch. Restaurant ist toll und die Zimmer sind äußerst geräumig für ein Stadthotel.
Lage, Blick, großzügiges Zimmer, getrenntes Klo, Ruhe
