Good location, entertainment as you expect, rooms need updating a little, paid less got more from similar hotels, very clean, noise OK, service at bars very poor, snacks very poor on this occasion you didn't get what you paid for, not told it was a NO SMOKING hotel, food only luke warm
I am writing this review with just a day or two to go, doubt my opinion will change much…
The area the hotel is in isnt too bad, not sure it is to my taste though. However, bus stataion across the road which is good. Buses go to lots of places including Mogan, Palmitos Park and many other places. The smaller beach adjacent to the hotel is lovely and 2 sunbeds and a parasol are only 7.50 euro for the day. Lots of small shops around, mini golf etc. we did the mini train just up the road when we arrived to get our bearings… was only about 6 euro but was pointless as we didn’t really see anything aside from back streets and hotels.
On to the hotel. Let’s start the with negatives to get them out the way….
1. AI cocktails are horrid. Pre mixed sugary drinks.
2. Bring a reusable cup, as others say, the ones provided for drinks are so small.
3. No fresh omelettes at breakfast which I do love
4. Not where near enough sunbeds, even in February in the shade we still often couldn’t get one unless put towels down at 8am which I refuse to do
5. Entertainment not to my taste… some activities advertised didn’t even take place. When I asked the team they said the activity board in reception was old. Why not change it then? In the app there was meant to be a short activity eg reverse bingo most nights at 8.45. I don’t think it happened any night. Just gives a bad impression.
6. Not good night time seating areas. Like others say, it is outside in the cold and there still was not enough seats for everybody
7. Little to no storage in the rooms. No drawers or shelves for things like underwear. Plenty of hangers though.
Now to the positives….
1. Brilliant room cleaning. Cannot fault it
2. All staff were lovely, reception, restaurant, bar staff
3. Beds were to my taste and comfortable
4. The food was pretty decent on the whole, mostly warm enough and had taste, not just thrown in a pan.
5. 24 hour small gym
6. The guests seemed decent when I was here. Mostly older generation which suits me
7. Decent games room for kids and not so young kids
8. Fridge and TV in the rooms were decent
9. I didn’t mind the hotel being none smoking even though I vape. There are a couple of places to smoke and vape
10. The hotel has a couple of cats and I love cats!
Overall, would I return? Yes I most probably would. Also, with a few small adjustments the hotel could be amazing.
1. The most important is staff!!! Who makes great atmosphere of this place . Very friendly , helpful , smiling , starting from ladies in reception who welcomed us warmly with a smile- I recommend to do online check in before arrival. Also restaurant staff waitress taking care about cleanliness - they are doing really hard job as well
As , kitchen staff preparing very tasty food , food is really tasty . Guys at pool - we liked that they care about sunbed - help to move sunbed and handle with reservation of sunbeds .
2. Localisation very close to the beautiful and sandy beach and promenade with sea view , - close to the dunes . 30 m from the hotel there is big bus stop and You can go from the do the capital or puerto Mogán.
3. You can get a parking at the hotel for 10 euros per day and save nerves to look for a place to park.
Central location for beach, small shopping/entertainment arcade area, promenade to Playa Ingles, also bus station. The Staff were very helpful and amusing, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was good, central bar seating area was popular but could have been a little bit more comfortable. As other people have remarked, the entertainment for the evening was outdoors which could be a bit chilly some evenings. Our room overlooked the street area which was interesting for us. We took a bus trip to Mogan and the lighthouse. Very easy to do and worth it. The place was very clean and the service was really excellent. The pools were a bit cold as it was early in the season but still pleasant to sit by. The young entertainers were very diligent in their roles. I enjoyed yoga and aqua fit. We found everything we needed as explained to us on arrival. A small problem very quickly dealt with by excellent maintenance man. TV is pretty much set to German or Spanish but you can ask for help finding a couple of English speaking channels.
We had a really lovely stay at the hotel. Everything was clean, the food was good, and the location was right by the beach with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The housekeeping team and the waiters and waitresses work really hard. The animation team were brilliant as well, they were always doing games by the pool to keep guests occupied during the day. A special shoutout to Gabor, who we believe was new (he didn’t have a name badge), but he did a great job!
Thank you Abora for a lovely holiday, we’d happily return.h
We had a great holiday here in Jan. The hotel is well laid out, very clean and well orgsnised. The pool area gets little sun at this time of year but the beach is a short distance and you can have a lovely walk in either direction when you get there. The staff are all very pleasant and hard working. Shout out to chef Gustavo for helping to provide a variety of gluten free things for breakfast with a big smile. Be aware though the entertainment at night is outside and it is cold!
We could not fault this hotel at all - comfy beds - spotlessly clean, the staff work so hard and the food is great - always plenty of choice and different every day. Close to shops, the beach and bus station where you can get buses all over the island very reasonably, we got the bus to Perto Mogan which cost €4.00 ish each - it took an hour but we'll worth doing. There were plenty of sunbeds and the hotel policy of issuing a warning and then removing towels on sunbeds is excellent - well done ! Very good value for money and we would definitely recommend.
From entering the hotel and checking in with the receptionist, a very helpful chap called Sebo. Gave me all the information I needed my experience was amazing. a lovely hotel. I remember staying here 30 years ago when it was just called Hotel Continental. a lovely room with sea view. Everything needed was there. I went AI which I totally recommend. The food choice was unbelievable, everything anybody could have wanted. Lots of choice and good quality food. Very pleasant staff throughout. Even to the point of walking towards the bar and them pouring my chosen drink. Excellent hotel. Will definitely visit again and totally recommend. Thanks
Hotel w którym można odpocząć, bardzo czysto, smaczne posiłki, fantastyczne położenie.
Nie było nic takiego
We came out for 4 nights. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and the entertainment team are great.
The corridors could do with a bit of a paint but that’s very minor. The food is typical all inclusive food and there is always something available 24/7 so you’re never hungry.
The only things I would say is bring/find some plastic pint glasses as the only cups available are small and less than half a pint.
You can put towels down by the pool but if you’re not sat on them by 10 they get folded up and a little warning notice put with them. If you’re still not sat on them by 11 your towels will be removed. There’s loads of space around the 4 pools though and we never had trouble finding a bed even after breakfast finished.
If you want a quieter sunbathing area, the bottom pool to the right is quiet and has loads of sun.
The transfer from the airport was less than 30mins. We were the first drop off.
Great location. Bars and restaurants only a short walk away. We didn’t use the free shuttlebus as it’s not a long walk anyway.
LOVE that’s its a non smoking hotel. Only two smoking areas which is great for those that don’t like to sunbathe/eat next to smokers.
Everything was perfect: the food was really yummy, the room was amazing, really clean, the bed was very confortable and we had an amazing view to the ocean.
For a three‑star hotel and the price we paid, we genuinely couldn’t complain. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptional throughout our stay. A big shout‑out to Naserath and Kevin for their wonderful hospitality.
We didn’t use the pool as the water was understandably cold for this time of year, but the nearby beach more than made up for it. We loved our early morning walks along the promenade, and the bus service was reliable and easy to use.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, as we were out exploring during the day. The only downside was the entertainment, which wasn’t quite up to the mark, but to be fair, we weren’t relying on it — it just would have been a nice extra.
This was a spur‑of‑the‑moment getaway to catch some sun, and we weren’t expecting too much for the price. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised and had a lovely stay.
This is a good 3 star hotel which really tries to offer best service. Staff are amazing, from reception to housekeeping, nothing is too much trouble
Buffet is adequate, we had breakfast and lunch in the hotel and ate out most nights. Lots of great restaurants to explore.
Beach is close by, 7,50 euro covers 2 beds and umbrella for the day. We found the beach more chilled than poolside, also warmer as winters takes some time to hit the pool in February!
Full entertainment team are in hand with lots of activities if you want to join, friendly staff!
We got a great deal for all inclusive , would recommend.
The room was great, the food was very diverse.
The food :(
The location of the hotel was excellent, it was in a quiet area close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. It was an easy walk along the beautiful promenade to the Maspalomas dunes. The bus station was just around the corner with regular, cheap buses all over the island. The rooms were spacious clean and were serviced daily. There was a kettle with tea and coffee, also soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
There were towels available from reception for the sun beds although we were not informed of this on check in so brought our own. The pool area was quite busy so I imagine it would be difficult to get a sunbed in high season.
As it was January the dining hall was moderately busy so we could easily find a table and the ques weren't long, I don't know what this would be like in peak season. The food was adequate, not fantastic but for the price it did the job. The variety was ok but it was only luke warm, however, I have read this about a lot of hotels and there was a microwave if required. We ate out once a day at lunch time so we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and at the price we paid we weren't complaining. We only drank the pump beer, wine and pepsi, the beer and wine were ok, not top quality but again, did the job. I can't comment on the cocktails and spirits as I don't drink them but the people with the gold upgraded armbands seemed happy enough and were drinking branded bottled beers.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again due to it's fab location.
We have just returned from spending a week at the Abora
The hotel is lovely with just a few tweeks needed to make it that little bit better
The rooms are fabulous with a massive walk in shower, however...the bedroom had no draws at all where you could store underwear etc
Fabulous sea views
Tea and coffee wasn't replenished daily at all
The food was varied and tasteful, but wasn't always warm even when the food was just brought out
The reception area was outstanding with massive tropical plants
All of the staff outstanding and so well mannered
The biggest let down was the evening entertainment with no decent acts at all including the animation team, yet this could so easily rectified. Every evening we saw guests including our selves leave early as nothing was worth stopping to the end for
Absolutely stressful , I do agree regarding towels been removed from sunbeds if people go away from pool but going to the toilet if your on your own and towels been removed is a absolute joke , I have to now sit here until my husband comes back from the pharmacy as towel inspector is coming round moving them it’s awful , and if you smoke you have to go to a small area at the back of the hotel or out front of the hotel , we feel like we are having a separate holiday as there is nowhere at all to both sit and have a drink together if one if you are a smoker , when we got to the hotel there was lots of people smoking outside reception I thought everyone was ha a quick smoke before entering the hotel it turned out to be the smoking area , I appreciate not everyone likes smoking but life choices are to be made by the individual , I would never book a Lopesan hotel again me and my husband may as well have gone on separate holidays , most of the guests who had 1 smoker in their party was saying the same as no smoking on balcony either so no chance of a chill on a morning as straight down to go either out front or round back of hotel , apart from not daring to move if only one of you was on sunbed room and food ok ,
