The hotel was in the airport. 5 minutes away from airline check ins.
The atmosphere was nice and friendly staff. The hotel room was nice but what disappointed me was the lounge. It was paltry. Not much diversity in terms of food or drinks. I would recommend just for one night but if you stay longer, go somewhere else.
Very convenient for a one night stay. Just off the terminal and a quick walk if you can spot the signs. It wasnt easy to find the signs. The lounge was nice and the rooms were decent. Service was average one level upgrade and it was enough for a one night stay.
The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel is a massive, late-1970s or early-1980s hotel directly connected to Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 1.
The hotel was divided into two brands around the time of the pandemic. Of the more than 1,000 total rooms in the complex, approximately 700 or 750 operate under the Sheraton brand with the remaining 200 or 250 rooms branded as a Marriott. The Sheraton rooms are the oldest and least updated rooms.
While there were light updates around 2019 or 2020 — such as new carpet, televisions, and wall coverings — the rooms are extremely tired at this point. It’s not just the decor. Electrical and USB outlets are limited. Bathrooms are basic and feel more like a shared bathroom at a school gym or sports club. In the shower, mold or mildew was visible.
Outside of the mold or mildew in the bathroom, the rest of the room was clean. Climate control is adjustable, though cooling the room below 24 degrees Celsius took more than four hours.
Marriott Bonvoy elite status was acknowledged at check-in. However, the Front Desk does not offer a compliant Bonvoy elite welcome gift choice of points, a restaurant breakfast or an amenity. Instead, they only offer points. If you push back, they offer breakfast. When asked about an amenity, a manager said their property doesn’t have to follow the Bonvoy terms and conditions.
Guests with Bonvoy platinum status or higher have access to the club lounge. The lounge is modest in size relative to the number of hotel rooms but offers both evening refreshments and breakfast. The food selection is slightly better than average for a club lounge with the wine selection being superb.
Due to the size of the hotel, there are service struggles. Staff are professional, courteous and seemingly well-intended. However, requests take a long time if they're even fulfilled. There just doesn’t seem to be enough staff for the number of rooms.
The hotel’s primary advantage is its location. Being directly connected to Terminal 1 makes it especially convenient for early-morning departures or late-night arrivals. Travelers who prioritize proximity to the airport and Marriott Bonvoy benefits may find it a practical choice. Those seeking a higher standard and better rooms may prefer hotels located a short distance from the airport.
All things considered, the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel is an older and rather basic Sheraton with a premium location and a better than average club lounge. My whole guest experience felt more like a budget cruise ship than a four-star hotel.
Another wonderful stay prior to an early departure next morning,
Special thanks to Ehsan at the front desk for his professional and friendly attitude.Good job!
Great location and Perfect service. Ehsah was so nice to send me some stuff needed and help me to get connected to Wifi. Recommend this hotel if you need to stay near the airport.
My stay at the hotel was very pleasant, with comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast and a welcoming atmosphere. I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Mohammad Al-Abass for his kind support and help during the stay. His professionalism, empathy, and willingness to assist made a real difference and were truly appreciated. I would happily recommend this hotel and would love to return in the future!
My experience at the Sheraton Frankfurt airport was excellent. I had significant travel issues.
They helped me with a hotel, great food within the hotel, and even printed out my visa and related documents, I needed to fix my travel issues.
In particular I want to thank Mohammad Agabouss. His communication, front desk assistance, attitude and helpfulness were first class. Thank you, Mohammed.
Laura was very nice and they were very accommodating. Forgot my charger, and they gave me a charge. Friendly staff overall. Igor was also nice. Told me about City Center.
Ehsan was amazing! He helped us figure out any issues we had and even gave us candy! He was very easy going and knew exactly what to do in a timely manner.
Ehsan at the Guest Services desk was very helpful when we needed to connect to the Wi-Fi! He was nice and gave us some chocolates while we waited!
5 out of 5. Want to shout out to Sami Kallouz who really listed to my needs and made sure I had the best experience I could. Pushed the boat out for me, and as a customer… made me feel special.
We stayed for one night for a connecting flight. Mohammad was so kind to let us earlier into the room. It was a great experience: very friendly service, nice , calm room, convenient location, for us the perfect stay.
I'm truly speechless. This was my last stay at a Sheraton hotel.
December 2025
I'm truly speechless; I thought nothing could surprise me anymore, but I was wrong. I made the mistake of giving Sheraton Frankfurt Airport, as a Platinum member, the chance to prove that their service had improved, three times on different dates, this year and at the end of last year, even though as a Lifetime Diamond member I'm used to excellent service at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport, where I'm a regular guest. And once again, I was disappointed by Sheraton. The first stay wasn't particularly pleasant. I arrived with my 16-year-old son, who has had four heart surgeries, an artificial heart valve, two stents in his narrowed pulmonary arteries, and also suffers from multiple sclerosis. We should have just taken the train home, but we decided to stay overnight at the Sheraton, God knows why. We supposedly received an upgrade to a Deluxe room, but it only had a kettle and tea, which was quite disappointing. The Executive Lounge is open 24 hours, but the offerings are not comparable to Hilton. At midnight, we were woken up because the guests in the next room had ordered food and were having quite loud conversations with the room service employee. My son, since he was 3 years old, has learned from me that you never talk in the hotel hallway, neither during the day nor at night, so as not to disturb other guests. After that, the night was ruined; we couldn't fall back asleep. We then took an earlier train home, so we didn't have breakfast in the restaurant. The second time, at the beginning of November, I came alone. After my last internal hotel review, they made a bit more of an effort. I received a suite at the end of the hallway from Sergio, a nice letter of apology from the Front Desk Manager Panos Papoulias, and a few amenities. Normally, I always receive the welcome letters from the General Manager or Director of Operations. It was the overnight stay before my flight to the USA. My wife is a teacher, and my son is back at his old high school after two years at the international Wilhelm von Humboldt online school, so they could only join me during the Christmas holidays. Therefore, before breakfast, I informed an older employee that I had made a third booking for my wife and son for the night of December 19th to 20th. I assumed, as is customary at Hilton, that they would naturally have access to the Club Lounge. She said that without me, they wouldn't be granted access, which completely ruined my appetite for breakfast. Sergio overheard this and kindly upgraded my wife and my now 17-year-old son to a Club Room and granted them access to the Club Lounge, which was very kind of him. I didn't end up having breakfast after all.
Last night, they arrived here in Orlando after 36 hours of travel, completely exhausted; my son, in particular, was not feeling well at all. They traveled by train from the North Sea to Frankfurt, spent about 7 hours at the Sheraton Hotel, and then flew via Paris and Philadelphia to Orlando. Then I couldn't believe my ears: the employee didn't give them a Club Room or access to the Club Lounge, even though it was clearly stated in the booking, and therefore I couldn't even use one of my upgrade vouchers that I received through my status. No breakfast or even a grab-and-go breakfast was offered. My wife was even asked to show the employee my ID for check-in, even though she had a copy of my booking with the confirmed upgrades from Sergio. She couldn't reach me by phone because I was busy changing hotels in Orlando; it would only have been possible via FaceTime. So, we had a total of three nights and not a single breakfast. Essentially, we had booked two rooms for the flight. If we had flown on the same day, we would have gone to the lounge and had breakfast together. Considering they only spent 7 hours at the hotel, this is beyond outrageous.
Now I understand why the reviews for the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport aren't particularly good. I'm a Platinum member with Sheraton, a Platinum member with IHG, and a Lifetime Diamond member with Hilton, with a total of 190 nights this year. This time, but certainly for the last time, I had 51 nights with the Bonvoy Marriott Group, including 3 nights on different days at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport. I'm usually a regular guest at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport, but after about 17 years of only staying at Hilton hotels, I wanted to give Sheraton another chance to see if the service had improved. From the early 2000s, I was a Platinum member with Sheraton for several years, which was the highest status at SPG back then.
At that time, thanks to my highest status with Emirates, I received Gold status with Hilton as a promotion from the airline. I then switched between hotel groups several times in Australia and quickly realized that the Gold status at Hilton was better than the Platinum status at Sheraton/SPG.
After that, until last year, with my approximately 2000 nights, I never stayed at a Sheraton again. Last year, I wanted to give Sheraton, and now the Bonvoy Marriott Group, a second chance, unfortunately without success; nothing has changed, it's actually only gotten worse.
We had a very pleasant experience at the Hotel after we had missed a flight. Staff was very helpful and friendly, Mr. Mohammad Al - Abass in particular. The family room was clean and comfortable. Room service was quick and good. Breakfast was great too.
We would definitely stay there again .
Spacious, cozy rooms! Breakfast buffet is a 10/10 ⭐️ And the service was great. The front desk was very helpful and friendly :)) Loved my stay here.
Ehsan from Guest relation really stepped up the customer service game. As a Titanium member who spends an average of 120-140 days a year in this chain, it's not easy for me to be truly impressed. But let me tell you, he was hands down one of the best guest service representatives I've encountered in Marriott, Sheraton, and Hilton. He exudes class, prestige, and style, and is more than willing to ensure that guests have everything they need to enjoy their stay. It's clear that he genuinely cares about this business.
The rating I am sharing is strictly related to the valuable assistance I have received while booking an upcoming stay online. Ehsan has been a tremendous help, assisting with details, information and sharing insights about what to include and how to proceed with the booking. His timely assistance guarantees the professionalism of the hotel and that the stay will be well enjoyed. Thank you
I had an excellent experience during check-in thanks to Sergio at the front desk. From the very first moment, he was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. What truly amazed me was his ability to communicate in so many different languages, switching effortlessly depending on the guest.
I have honestly never seen someone perform so exceptionally well in a reception role.
Eshan is absolutely AMAZING!! he helped my family and I via email to secure dinner on Christmas Day. We are traveling from the US and coming through Frankfurt staying overnight on our way to Africa. And he has been nothing short of amazing in terms of support. He has reached out to restaurants on our behalf to secure reservations for us and gave us an extremely extensive list of options. At this point, we’re not quite sure we’re going to end up, but at least we know there’s a place to fall back on at the hotel.
Ehsan was attentive and friendly at check-in. Great conversation and excellent service—truly made my stay memorable
