Excellent location, staff friendly and the facilities good
Lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff.
A full-length mirror in the bedroom would have made it perfect.
Lovely hotel
Showers were cold
Hotel was very close to the wedding venue we were attending over the weekend, which was great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The meal we had in the restaurant was very good, and not too expensive. The staff dealt with the delay in serving the main course very well, offering us complimentary drinks.
Quality of breakfast was good, but more choices would have been better.
I'm going to be a little 'hotel inspecter' now, but that is only to highlight to the owners and staff what could easily be improved. The hotel was obviously going through a little refurb, which would be the main reason a few things needed attention to detail; curtains and pelmet in our room were covered in dust and cobwebs, the walls looked like they had had only one coat of paint and looked a bit rough. The bathroom had obviously just been done, however there was just the start of black mould on the silicone, and extractor had not been installed (this was the same in all bathrooms when discussing with friends). Some of the furniture could have been better quality. The 'fireplace' in the lounge/hall was not fixed down, if someone had leant against it, it could have been dangerous. There was no hot water for showers in the morning, all guests we spoke to had tepid showers both mornings! Staff were aware of this, and said it was an ongoing plumbing problem.
And the main one - a nice glass, ice and slice/fruit in a G&T is a must! :)
Lovely eclectic hotel in nice surroundings with great friendly staff and value for money. I was away for the whole week in a different hotel every night and the food here was way better than anywhere else I stayed. Evening meal and breakfast brilliant!
Nothing really
The service
Nothing
The Hotel was very comfortable & the room clean, modern & well equipped
I was given the wrong door code for after hours access - a bit traumatic late at night when travelling alone.
Great location, very friendly staff, dog friendly. Food was great and breakfast especially
We didn’t have breakfast as we left early but our evening meal the night we arrived was delicious and the members of staff were very friendly and polite and very helpful well done guys
Perhaps some new carpets in the communal areas but other than that It was very good value for money
Lovely hotel in a great location with really friendly staff.
Quiet location, our room was upgraded to a family room as there was a mix up by booking.com so was very nice. The room we stayed in must have been recently renovated and was lovely and clean and fresh!
Breakfast was a bit disorganised the second day. And was served too late for us on the last day. Start serving breakfast at 7.30am
Beautiful food & so Delicious filled my belly for a long journey home
Being a lift in Hotel would have been good
No fridge or safe in room.
Ambience. Air of sophistication. Beautiful grounds and outlook. LUXURIOUS FEEL.
Meals (dinner) could have been better. Rating 8. Tart shell overcooked.
The Breakfast was lovely catering for all
Hard to get a Taxi from the Hotel to the wedding we attended at Cornhill Castle
