Unusual system with towels at pool. Service could be a little slow.

This hotel is stunning. Lovely gardens, gorgeous pool area, lovely ambient bar and seating area.
The Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very spacious, well appointed rooms. Massive comfortable bed. Air con worked well and the bathroom was a nice size. Plenty of storage space and a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. Cleaned every day so was spotlessly clean.
We ate in the poolside restaurant, which was very good. We spent time at the rooftop bar, which was lovely, and we also had a superb meal in the Michelin Star Restaurant Don Geppi.
Breakfast was pleasant, as you would expect. The service throughout was exemplary.
We had a fantastic stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.
Staff were wonderful and helpful, beautiful setting
Breakfast sweet cakes and pastries were a little stale
Nice hotel, friendly staff.
Our room was outdated.
The Majestic Palace is spectacular. The staff was simply amazing. The hotel and grounds are incredibly beautiful and well maintained. How this hotel is priced so well is beyond me. Stay here. You will not regret it.
The property was very class and chic with a fantastic Italian style. The pool area was great and the roof top bar was sublime with some breathtaking views. The staff were also top class.
The air conditioning was not suffice. 3 times we asked the staff to lower it and to their best ability they did. It seems to be a system fault not the staffs fault. Working in engineering I could tell that the system was not working to its full potential and needed maintained. The breakfast choices also could have been better. Asking gueststo pay extra for pancakes etc is very disappointing especially with the price of the stay, we felt it was a chance to make more money at any chance. The price for soft drinks and alcohol was very high. €12 for a Coca Cola on the roof top is actually quite disgusting.
Myself and my best friend chose this hotel to celebrate our 40th birthday stay in Sorrento, and it did not disappoint. It is a stunning building in a beautiful location, however we felt the staff really made it for us. From the moment we checked in they were so friendly and attentive, showing us around the hotel and letting us know where everything was. Greeting us as ‘the birthday girls’ when we came through reception, it was lovely, made us feel really special. We had lunch by the pool our first day as our room was not ready yet and it was perfect. We received a voucher for a complementary glass of Prosecco each. The pool itself has plenty of loungers and the pool is a great size. It was lovely lying there in the sun listening to the birds sing. The garden to the rear of the hotel is also a really peaceful area to relax in.
Breakfast had a great selection of breads, cakes/pastries, juices, fruits, hot food and cheese and meats. You couldn’t want for anything more at the breakfast buffet! And again the staff were quick to seat and even quicker to clear plates and tables for the next guests.
We were on the 4th floor and the corridor and doors to the rooms seem to have been recently done up, they were beautiful. Our room was gorgeous, I think one of the older styles but still beautiful , really spacious with a huge balcony with wooden shutters overlooking the mountains at the front of the hotel. Just to note, as the rooftop bar is on the 5th floor there was a bit of noise which sounded like furniture being moved around from about 4pm onwards but this bar closes at 11/11.30pm so it was not a problem for us as we were our every evening. Lots of storage in the room, however only one mirror, the addition of a full length mirror would have been a nice extra. The only plug socket/outlet beside the mirror we had was not working, it seemed a previous guest’s adapter broke inside it and they did not let reception know. So unfortunately we could not use this on our first night to dry our hairs, however once we mentioned this to reception they sent maintenance to our room and it was promptly fixed which was fantastic.
The one thing that let our room down was that there was an interconnecting door with the room next door. We had our neighbour knock on our door at 11.30pm at night to tell us to keep the noise down, even though we had just returned from our evening out and were simply talking (not shouting or screaming) getting ready for bed. This did upset us a lot at the time as we can’t help a door with no soundproofing being in between both our rooms, and it wasn’t very late by holiday standards, I could understand if it was 1,2,3am for example! We could hear our neighbours the next day drying hair in their room , it was very loud so perhaps something could be done to soundproof these internal doors? Just a thought.
We knew the hotel would be outside of Sorrento itself when we booked however we found the walk quite long and hard at times in the heat after a long day out and about. A taxi is €30 in the evening which is very expensive, but if you are aware you can work this into your budget!
Our private transfer back to Naples airport for our flight home let us down, but reception were able to book us a local taxi company who came within 10minutes and got us there right on time. We thank you again for helping us with that, as we were very stressed thinking we might miss our flight!
Overall a fantastic stay and couldn’t fault the hotel itself, the staff again were excellent and really helpful and friendly. I would absolutely stay again as we had a really great 40th birthday celebration that we will never forget!
Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed.
Selfish residents putting towels on sun beds and then not using them for the last 2 hours we were at the property. We would have liked to use 2 sunny loungers. In my view the hotel staff should not allow this to happen.
Everything! Rooftop bar with view at sunset is spectacular. Staff were lovely. Good quiet location away from the chaos of main town/streets but still walking distance to ferries.
Pool closes a little early in summer.
We recently stayed at the Majestic Palace Hotel and had a generally pleasant experience, although there were a few areas where we felt improvements could be made.
On arrival, the hotel makes a wonderful first impression. The building is beautiful, elegant, and full of Italian charm. The entire property is immaculately clean, and the staff are friendly, approachable, and always willing to help. The rooftop bar is particularly lovely and offers a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The room itself was very clean, but we found it quite basic and a little uninviting compared to the hotel’s impressive public areas. The beds were firmer than we would have liked, there was no pillow menu or choice of pillows, and there were no tea or coffee-making facilities. We were also surprised that complimentary bottled water was not provided, as this is something we would normally expect from a hotel advertising itself as four-star. The balcony was functional but looked worn and in need of some refurbishment.
One point worth noting is that the hotel is not actually located in Sorrento itself, but just outside. This wasn’t a problem for us, but the advertised 15-minute walk into the centre seems optimistic. Google Maps estimates around 30 minutes, which may be worth considering for guests with limited mobility.
Breakfast was enjoyable, with lovely staff providing excellent service, although the food selection was fairly basic rather than extensive. We also found some of the extra charges disappointing. For example, pool towels are provided free of charge, but if you wish to exchange one during your stay there is a €2.50 fee. In addition, check-out is at 11am and there do not appear to be any washroom or dressing room facilities available for guests after check-out.
Overall, the hotel has many positives, particularly its cleanliness, friendly staff, attractive appearance, and rooftop bar. However, some of the room amenities and additional charges made it feel as though extras were being charged for where we would normally expect them to be included in a four-star hotel experience.
Lovely poolside restaurant, Don Geppi restaurant, fabulous Skybar and very nice staff. Also had a wonderful terrace on the 5th floor with an incredible view. I think this was because I had mentioned it was our honeymoon 😊
Despite its 4 stars the plug socket in our bathroom was hanging out of the wall and the hairdryer didn’t work as a result, although they did rectify this quickly with another one. Also the fridge wasn’t plugged in when we arrived but minor detail.
Location, staff
Breakfast for 30 euros was not good! Terrible eggs and greasy bacon. Canned fruit. Yuck
Pastry’s were good
Music at night noisy from rooftop bar. Beds ok, hard pillows
Beautiful property
Rooms not great for a traveling. Not much shelving in bathroom, no counter space, short in lights in our room ( kept going off)
Floor 4 very noisy under bar. Pillows and bed hard.
Clean and felt quite high end
Very expensive for what it was, sun beds were cheap and the road was quite loud.
The first impression of the hotel looking very majestic. The outside patio area and swimming pool area. The gardens at the back are very beautiful and a lovely outside space to chill out in the peace and quiet.
Didn’t find anything not to like.
