Lovely location, away from the crowds. Authentic village atmosphere in area. Loved the balcony aspect overlooking the rear garden it made the stay so enjoyable, the bird life, the peaceful outlook.
Very clean rooms, great staff. A very enjoyable stay.
Nothing to complain about at all.
Fantastic hotel just outside the centre of Sorrento. Room was kept clean everyday. All of the staff are welcoming and polite. The pool was a good size and kept clean. There were sun loungers available, with option for full sun all day or shaded areas. Overall would recommend to anyone and would love to stay there again in the future.
Clean, great location and lovely pool
Breakfast is the same everyday, no water station and they don't replace water or coffee etc in your room and also only allowed one pool towel for your entire stay
Staff, location, rooms were clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was basic.
I have travelled extensively and stayed at many hotels over the years, but I can honestly say that I have never experienced hospitality and genuine care quite like this.
From the very first day, before my accident, the service at Majestic Palace was outstanding. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, the food is delicious, and the rooftop bar is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset. Sorrento and the surrounding area are absolutely stunning.
But what truly makes this hotel special is the people.
Unfortunately, during my stay I had an accident and fractured my ankle on the Path of Gods. Being injured far from home was frightening, and what followed at the hospital was a very traumatic experience. I felt rather alone and had to manage much of the situation myself.
Coming back to Majestic Palace afterwards was an enormous relief. The staff immediately stepped in and did everything they could to help me. They helped me get around, carried me up the entrance stairs when I couldn't manage them myself, and constantly made sure I was safe and comfortable.
Even the smallest things meant so much. The husband of one of the staff members came to fix my room door so it would not automatically close, simply because it made things easier for me with my injured foot. I will never forget that.
The care never felt like ordinary hotel service. It felt like genuine human kindness.
I later noticed the hotel's motto: “LET US TAKE CARE OF YOU.” And I can honestly say that this is not just a slogan. They truly live by it.
They turned what could have been only a frightening and traumatic experience into something I will remember with warmth and gratitude.
I was sad that my early flight meant I couldn't say a proper goodbye to everyone. I would have loved to thank them in person – and give them a big hug.
I very much hope to return to Sorrento once my ankle has healed, see more of this beautiful area, and return to Majestic Palace under much happier circumstances.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Loredana and the entire team. You are what makes this hotel truly exceptional. Five stars without hesitation! ❤️
Great hotel, no complaints! I definitely recommend booking a Superior Room for the best experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, everything is spotless, the restaurant is so good, and the pool is amazing. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great breakfast, beautiful hotel, great attentive staff and perfect location. Such good value for money.
Nothing it was actually all great, I would definitely come back.
We loved this hotel, it's like stepping into the 1920s. Rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need. Pool is very nice, though a lot of it is in shade but in height of summer it is needed. Staff are excellent, food great but the stand out for us was the rooftop bar. It only opens from 630 but the view of the sunset, the drinks and food are well worth staying out of Sorrento for.
Just to clear up any confusion, this is not in Sorrento itself but the town before. It is certainly not a leisurely walk, especially if you go along the main road. We went in July and it was baking so if we attempted the walk, we would have been a sweaty mess by the time we got to Sorrento.
We chose to get the bus instead, which is easy and cheap. The bus stop is just at the top of the road, just an EAV sign on the wall outside a shop. The buses are every 10/15 mins and drop you off by train station near the heart of Sorrento.
Would recommend here if you are coming for more than a long weekend as it's nice to get away from the crowds and prices of Sorrento, as fantastic as it is.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay.
When my friends and I arrived to check in at 3pm, our rooms weren’t even ready. Unfortunately, things only got worse once we finally got inside.
Every one of us had been allocated the same dreadful basement rooms on the lowest floor of the hotel. There were no balconies, no sea views and certainly nothing like the rooms advertised. Instead, my “view” was of an artificial hedge. It honestly felt like we’d been given the cheapest rooms in the entire hotel.
After complaining, we were told that if we wanted a room with a balcony and sea view, we would have to pay even more money to upgrade. Considering how much we’d already paid for our holiday, this was completely unacceptable. We later discovered these basement rooms hadn’t even been refurbished, and it’s no surprise they don’t appear on the hotel’s website.
The room itself had several issues. The shower wasn’t hot enough in the evenings, leaving me with a cold shower. My friend had no air conditioning or electricity in her basement room either, making the situation even worse.
The rooftop bar experience was equally disappointing. Earlier that evening, we had all purchased cocktails there before going out for dinner. When six of us returned later simply to relax with glasses of tap water, enjoy the music and admire the evening views, a waiter told us we couldn’t stay unless we were buying drinks, but that he would “make an exception just for tonight.”
I found this incredibly rude. We had already spent money in the bar only a few hours earlier and were paying guests staying in the hotel. After spending an additional £300 just to upgrade to a room with a decent view, being made to feel unwelcome while quietly enjoying a glass of water in our own hotel was unacceptable and left a very poor impression.
Breakfast was bland, uninspiring and lacked variety. Staff were difficult to find, and service throughout the hotel was disappointing. To make matters worse, the food and drinks were extremely overpriced for the quality on offer.
Overall, this hotel fell far below expectations. The rooms, customer service, facilities and overall experience simply did not justify the price. I would not stay here again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.
The pool, the bar, the rooftop bar, the garden. beautiful hotel!
It would be perfect if it had a spa.
Bedrooms were fantastic and kept so clean by the great staff, pool area was lovely, roof top has some great views
It wad a bit noisy in the mornings, but nothing that would put us off visiting again
The hotel and staff were amazing. The food was decent I'd give it a 6.5/10. Drinks were made to perfection. Rooms were very clean and functional. The view was nothing short of breathtaking.
We told them our TV/Netflix didn't work, they sent someone he didn't fix it, he said he'd come back and he didn't. The location was okay, it was a 20-30 minute walk on tight side walks to get to the main town square.
This hotel exceeded our expectations, we intended to use it mainly as a base but the pool allowed us to spend a few days at the hotel. The hotel interior is beautiful & the sunset bar is stunning - I doubt there's a much better panoramic view of the Sorrento hills or sunset. The pool is large and clean with plenty of beds for guests. The rooms are rustic and clean. It's a pleasant 30 minute walk or a 5 minute bus or Sorrento (the bus stop is a 5 minute walk up the road). The breakfast is pretty basic but does the job. Excellent variety of drinks, pretty expensive but so is everywhere else. I would absolutely stay here again!
I'm really clutching at straws here as this hotel was fantastic, but three 'even better ifs' would be. 1. Addition of a gym/fitness centre. 2. It would be useful if you could order from your phone via the QR menu when around the pool. 3. There was no iron in the room, but there was a steamer (which wasn't great).
When we arrived here we thought the hotel seemed really lovely. The downstairs areas are all really opulent with their decor. Unfortunately they must have blown the budget on the downstairs because the bedrooms were really basic and quite depressing. The air conditioning in the bedrooms doesn’t work properly and we reported this to reception but they didn’t seem to fix it.
One of my main issues with this hotel is how many hidden extras you have to pay for. My daughter asked the pool bar staff for a glass of tap water and they tried to charge her €3! In a hotel like this in a hot season they really should have jugs of water available. The breakfast was really poor, but you could pay extra for the nicer food! There’s a surprise! The bar on the roof “Dry martini” was a complete joke. The furniture is cold and uncomfortable and the whole bar is trying to be something it’s not! They think they are a swanky bar but it’s tacky and soulless. The exact same drinks that you can get in the downstairs bar are way more expensive in the roof top bar. They tried to charge us €16 for an apple juice for my daughter.
We went to the rooftop bar with our teenage kids and were having a drink and playing cards, then the waiter told us we were not allowed to play cards and gave us no explanation to why not. It was laughable. I actually thought the waiter was joking!
We realised along the way that there were many more silly “rules” that ruin this hotel. The pool is 3 metres deep but you’re not allowed to jump in or dive! What’s the point in having a 3 metres deep deep pool? My daughter got shouted at for walking through reception in her bikini even though we were never told that this was a rule.
We borrowed a steamer from reception and were told we had to return it as soon as we used it (even though I saw about 10 steamers in their cupboard) I even had to sign the steamer out!!!
There’s just a real air of unfriendliness at this hotel which is such a shame.
We didn’t bring these issues up with the hotel because we read some reviews on here and Google which said that the hotel were not very nice to people who make complaints.
Really lovely hotel in a good location!
We had a garden facing room which I couldn’t recommend more! We had views of the sunset every evening from our room, the bed was huge and the aircon was amazing! We also had no noise from outside (I even brought my ear plugs but didn’t have a need for them!) I can imagine if you were pool side facing you would’ve had a different experience as the road although not super busy can be noisy with beeping and car engines etc .
Pool was great and out of a week stay there was only one day where we struggled to get a sun-bed, but on this day we arrived to the pool area super late (after 11am) and it was a Sunday and it seemed like a lot of guests were not doing any trips etc. Every other day it was not an issue and we found a good spot.
Location is good, some really nice restaurants close by, but the walk into “main” sorrento town is about 25 min+ which in the heat is sometimes pretty rough, but easily doable and quite a nice walk. (Taxis are super expensive - a 4 min drive cost us €30 cash)
Rooftop bar was sensational - definitely don’t miss it.
Breakfast was nice and had everything you need.
Lunch and drinks prices in the restaurant and rooftop bar were quite expensive considering portions weren’t huge and you could get cheaper just outside the hotel.
