High hopes were brought back to reality.
Pros:

Very historic. Lots of character.

Cons:

Our A/C didn’t work so the room stayed above 76 degrees. The elevator was down for maintenance. The door to our room was thin enough to hear all convos in the hallway. The restaurant was closed. The property is cool but in need of repairs.

Pros:

Everything was great! Clean comfy room.

Cons:

Honestly this is not a criticism just a fair warning for future guests…the bathroom is tiny! I completely understand it’s a historic hotel but if you’re tall like my 6’5” husband, it’s challenging 😉

beautiful hotel, unique experience!
Pros:

Hotel was beautiful, clean rooms, beds were kinda hard but didn’t bother us we slept good, good location, safe environment, it felt like an old western movie type of vibe, i loved the elevator and the secret hidden room, very unique. Staff was friendly. We will definitely be staying there again. Highly recommend the place.

Cons:

No breakfast included, I feel for the price breakfast should be included.

It was great, history, location and cars, cars, cars !!!!
Pros:

It’s a classic ! So much history and the feel of it is great. Staff were very pleasant, food was good, pool was great (especially as we had it to ourselves for almost 90 minutes !). Brilliant to see classic car club’s visiting (soo many pictures !). Somewhere you have to stay at least once in your life (psst look out for the secret book upstairs)

Loved it booked in for a 2nd night
Pros:

The building itself is fantastic with western themed wood frames and beautiful stairs Restaurant and bars were great . Food was good.

Cons:

Bars close at 10 pm sharp . We are on vacation as is everyone else in the Hotel. It seems everything closes in Gallup early

Fun place to wander and look at the rustic architecture and all the Hollywood memorabilia.
Pros:

The rustic two story lobby was so cool...!

Cons:

There is a separate unattached motel section totally lacking in character. We were initially booked into that without being made aware. Needed to upgrade some money to get in main original hotel. WS worth it!

This was such a cool hotel experience.
Pros:

Historic appeal, comfy bed, helpful staff. The secret room and crazy elevator were cool!

Getting asked for money by the drunk guy in the parking lot.

Pros:

Stopped here while doing Route 66 as everyone id spoken to had said i should. Very glad I did. Beautiful buildings, clean and comfortable rooms that are themed, and the dinner was delicious. Id highly recommend this hotel

No fridge in room to keep drinks cold.but loved everything else
