We’re seasoned travelers and rarely write reviews, but this experience needs to be called out. The staff were unprofessional and used deceptive tactics to upsell services we had not booked. We had reserved a room without breakfast, yet were told, “you have a room with breakfast, correct?” and pushed to confirm it for both days. When I checked and declined, they still attempted to proceed and then charged us a transaction fee.
They initially fumbled over their English in a way that created confusion, but in a later conversation it was clear they had full command of the language, which made the interaction feel even more intentional.
After 36 hours of travel, we were exhausted and just trying to get our family of four into the room to rest. Instead, we were met with tactics that felt calculated and dishonest. Within minutes of arriving in Bruges, we felt taken advantage of. Easily one of the most unethical service experiences we’ve had at a hotel anywhere in the world.
L'emplacement, l'accueil, le service
L'insonorisation des chambres.
Breakfast was good
Would be have been nice to have a better welcome on arrival
The city itself is incredible, from long walks to intimate harp concerts to climbing the Belfry for stunning views. The restaurant scene is outstanding, and be sure to seek out the hidden gem De Garre and order a Tripel. For chocolate, don’t miss Chocolates & Happiness.

It was right in the middle and and it was close to the market square there was a supermarket so we could easily walk down and get something to drink anything else we needed there was the old chocolate house oh my gosh go upstairs or get one to go they bring you hot milk you get to put in your own amount of chocolate I chose the 46 milk choc Vietnam it was amazing and then you get a chocolate cup that you can throw in as well
I ordered a fresh croissant with chocolate sauce oh my God it was to die for nothing have I ever had like that in my life
Sweet loueff had an amazing fresh waffle with strawberries and fresh whipped cream and their pancakes were to die for
The stabbathus hotel we're outstanding they have a little mini bar area they have breakfast in the morning they have a courtyard our room had a little terrace it had two chairs in it love the showers the beds were amazing highly recommend this hotel to everybody whether you have kids or by yourself
We like Bruges in general and have always stayed at the Acacia Hotel. The location is perfect for our needs and for accessing all the shops, squares and restaurants. Lift access once inside the building is ideal for wheelchair users and the superior family room with a door separating both bed areas is useful.
There was an issue with reserved parking but the team resolved the matter straight away and provided alternative secure parking adjacent to the hotel.
The reception team and restaurant staff were very good.
The breakfast was as good as always.
Wheelchair access to the building is not straightforward as the front entrance is steps only. A slight detour via the secure car park (code needed) gives level access and the rear door (exit only) allows level ground in the direction of Grand Place.
There was an odour emanating from the bathroom which was masked by an air freshener. I had to convince my wife that it was none of my doing and, with the doors closed, the odour did not infiltrate the bedroom area. I informed reception when checking out as it did not impact us significantly enough during our stay to raise the matter earlier. Another guest might be less tolerant.
Location. Just fantastic to step out the hotel front door, and be in the main square in a few moments. Also, a small supermarket nearby too.
Parking spaces are limited.
Många soffor, aah! Stort utrymme.
