Horrible bed / pillow combo
Pros:

Hotel lift was well programed - since it's small, it doesn't stop along the way, it just serves one group at a time. Location was right across First Bahn.

Cons:

I hated the beds and the pillows. Atrocious. I can normally sleep anywhere but pillows were shockingly bad and beds were hard. Would never stay there again because of that.

Nice spa, but ridiculous rules
Pros:

Nice spa, with very nice facilities but ridiculous rules - the nicest part of the spa is “textile free” which we understand to be that there will be people naked (that’s fine) however, since we’re not comfortable getting naked in front of our friends we kept our swimsuits, under our towels (towels are allowed). We kept getting the people that work there telling us that they could see our swimsuits under our towels, and we must remove our swimsuits or leave… when we asked why, “those are the rules”… totally ridiculous

Lovely hotel- would love to return!
Pros:

Fantastic location, right next to the First cable car in the middle of Grindelwald, with multiple ski hire shops in the direct vicinity. It's also right next to a bus stop which can take you down to the Terminal, where there are more cable cars to a different selection of skiing spots.

Room was of a good size and well equipped with a coffee machine and balcony with an amazing view of the mountains.

Breakfast was of a good quality and wide selection.

Shuttle bus can take you to and from the railway station. Downstairs, there is a ski room to store your gear.

Cons:

The gym was a little smaller than I would have expected for a hotel of this nature, and the gym and spa area closed far too early in my opinion (closed at 8pm, which doesn't leave much time if you return from a day's skiing around 6pm).
Check out at 11am is a little early, especially as the breakfast runs until 11am too - check out at 12 would be more suitable I think, and would bring the hotel in line with others.

Great location! Staff was very helpful! The lobby area was very inviting with a great fireplace and comfortable rocking chairs in front of it for a cozy place to sit! The location is fantastic! The staff was incredibly helpful. The lobby area is inviting, featuring a beautiful fireplace and comfortable rocking chairs in front of it, creating a cozy spot to relax.

Cons:

We’ll definitely return and love the place, but some of the furnishings and rooms seem a bit outdated and could use some remodeling. It did seem as though remodeling has begun so maybe by the next time we go back all the rooms will have been completed 😊
