A pleasant place to stay, but not recommended in the hot summer months
Pros:

Beautiful location, pretty grounds, a good sized carpark. Friendly helpful staff. The room was a good size, with a bay window and a view of the garden. The bed was a King and very comfortable. It was nice to have a kettle with choice of tea, coffee or chocolate drinks. There was a fan provided The clean white towels were fantastic quality.

Cons:

Unfortunately we stayed that night, after a very hot 33 degree day. The room was very hot and only 1 small fan provided, we could not believe there was no air conditioning! Also very disappointed there was no small fridge in the room, which we had expected after paying £125 for a 1 night stay. No plug points were located near to big mirrors. Breakfast the next morning was a joke. They ran out of cooked food very quickly, and there was a very long wait for more to be provided. There was a Wedding the previous night and also a private birthday party, so they knew beforehand it would be busy, yet only ONE COOK staffed the kitchen. ImMy partner filled up on toast and cereal due to the long wait, and by the time the cooked food arrived, she did not have the appetite 🙃

A lovely venue for a wedding.
Pros:

Nicely decorated bedroom and lovely wood furniture.
The buffet at the wedding reception was delicious.

Cons:

The cooked breakfast was lukewarm and lacking some ingredients. I think they were overwhelmed by the number of guests at 9ish. There weren't enough staff to clear the tables , so we had to move dirty pots to find a place to sit.

I'm used to Holiday Inn which was rated 3*. But I wouldn't know what qualified this hotel for 4*.
Pros:

Only the environment

Cons:

The building is old. I wasn't aware of overnight car park payment; though the price wasn't much
