I'm used to Holiday Inn which was rated 3*. But I wouldn't know what qualified this hotel for 4*.
Pros:

Only the environment

Cons:

The building is old. I wasn't aware of overnight car park payment; though the price wasn't much

very impressed and added to my list
Pros:

We searched for a budget freindly hotel which looked secure (we carry our world in our vehicle) We were working at nearby venue and by chance happened on this gem. It will definately be going on our hotel list. Not only is it sheltered in its own little enclave surounded by huge and very stately houses and having a beautiful little highstreet within a 5 minute easy walk, the hotel itself is way beyond what I was expecting. You arrive in their secure and spacious parking with a beautiful fronted hotel to enter. The staff are very freindly and proffessional. The facilities are excellent. Lovely room and kept at my personal preference of temperature.

Great location but hotel a little tired
Pros:

Staff very helpful when I had a problem. Great location just behind the high street with public transport and shops.

Cons:

Had to request a room change from room 15 as it was incredibly noisy from kitchen extractors. The walls were literally shaking. The staff were very good and moved me to a different room. The new room however had windows in bathroom jammed open and single glazed so I was quite cold. Dated decor in bedrooms in general.

Peaceful, otherworldly, comfortable.
Pros:

This rather interesting Victorian hotel was built in 1880 and it is still true to its original roots. It’s set in a lovely area of trees just behind the high street. I really appreciated its unpretentious atmosphere, it original features, the woodwork and panelling: in other words the feeling of stepping back into another age. I loved it. And the room was warm, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom unexceptional, I felt safe and cosy. I ate a tasty dinner and a lovely breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly and overall it was a pleasure to be there at a difficult time over a funeral.

Cons:

I think charging £5 a night for parking if you’re staying there is probably a bit cheeky! But otherwise nothing.

Very comfortable stay with excellent breakfast.
Pros:

Quiet location with the rooms looking out over a green space and we could open the windows. We even heard a woodpecker in the morning and breakfast was excellent.

The heating seemed to be on all night and no means of switching it off.

Comfortable & Relaxing
Pros:

We stayed in the suite which had a large spa bath which is lovely.
The young gentleman on the bar in the evening is a credit to his employer. He has a great positive attitude and is warm and welcoming.

Cons:

The noise of generators can be heard but isn’t enough to prevent a decent nights rest in the large bed we had.
