Cheap and cheerful
Pros:

The location is excellent. Close to all that Folkestone harbour has to offer. Affordable hotel with carpark for only £5 daily.
Perfect for an overnight stay with easy drive to eurotunnel. Lovely staff. Evening entertainment if that’s for you.
We didn’t eat at the hotel as close to bars and restaurants.

Cons:

You get what you pay for…decor very basic and worn. Sea view obstructed by filthy windows. Hotel could be cleaner all around!

The Burstin is on the "UP!"
Pros:

I had a great four day stay. I've been staying here regularly and I am now seeing big improvements. Some of the paintwork is tatty but the rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. I love the new entrance system- by room key only, after 11 pm. The front of the hotel is looking better without local residents using it at a meeting place. Don't be put off by the old rumours about this hotel. It's definitely on the "up"!

Cons:

The friendly staff, clean rooms, tea and coffee in rooms, delicious, fresh fish and chips served in the lounge!
