The hotel is good value, with clean functional rooms, with a fridge. The hotel does have dated charm. Right on the seafront.
Location.. quiet .. parking .. breakfast .. 66 pounds per night was fair
Room very warm .. bathroom could've done with a mop over on floor.. room bit dated
The view
Dining room staff were a bit rude was told I had a balcony it was just a a sliding door which handle came away in my hand maintained man came pushed it in said I will fix it when you are gone also no cleaners in room they only do rooms when you ate gone this hotel seems to only cater for coach tours
I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience at the Cavendish Hotel was extremely disappointing.
I booked directly with the hotel for what was supposed to be a relaxing break. Instead, my stay was disrupted by a school prom event taking place in the hotel. The music was so loud that I was unable to sleep properly, and I was never personally informed before arrival or at check in that such an event would be taking place.
When I contacted reception about the disturbance, no practical solution was available. What disappointed me even more was the way the complaint was handled afterwards. Despite several emails explaining the impact the noise had on my stay, my request for a refund was repeatedly rejected and I felt that my concerns were never genuinely considered.
Unfortunately, the noise was not the only issue. The breakfast was of very poor quality and did not meet the standards I would expect from a hotel charging these rates. The corridors were tired and poorly maintained, with old carpets that looked dirty and full of dust. In general, I found the hotel to be lacking in cleanliness, with dust noticeable in several areas.
The room itself was acceptable, but the overall experience fell far below expectations. Between the lack of sleep, the poor breakfast, the cleanliness concerns, and the unsatisfactory customer service, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have experienced.
I understand that hotels host events, but guests should be properly informed when those events may affect their stay. Transparency and good customer service go a long way, and unfortunately I did not experience either during this visit.
Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again.
Hotel in a Great Location, The room had a sea front balcony. It was clean and easily accessible.
Book in reception was poor staff felt distant and not very welcoming.
Location was brilliant and the Hotel was very clean.
I didn't appreciate the security light above the door as it would be shining on your eyes when you were trying to sleep.
Location is great and superior Seaview room
Table in room wasn't cleaned had dust on and base was dirty, hallways and staircases needed vacuuming didn't change in the two days we were there , same pieces of paper on carpets , small things but its easily rectified if housekeeping was more througher
we new thgat the room would not be great but we expected it to be clean and well dectoatie
Nothing really disappointed.
The room was very dusty, the windows and curtains was dirty. The whole of the room needed a deep clean, even the cooling fan was full of dust. The staff needed to be more happy and helpful, if you ask them a question it was hard for them to put any effort in answering you.
