Hyggelig hotel sentralt i Genève
Pros:

Veldig sentralt hotel! Kort vei til tog/bus/trikk. Gratis kort for all kollektivtransport i Genève. Kort spasertur til sjøen med utsikt til Jet d’eau. Gamlebyen kan også enkelt nås til fots. Godt lydisolerte rom, ingen støy fra gaten utenfor.

Not far from train station, nice room. Hotel in redlight district.
Pros:

Staff were friendly, room was nice, clean. It's less than 10 minute walk from the main train station.

Cons:

Location is in the middle of the red light district, so it was loud in the evenings. We were in Room 240 which was directly opposite a bar across the road, there were people constantly in and out of this bar all night and it was still going 8.30am when we were getting ready.

Maybe if you stayed on a higher floor or opposite side of the hotel it wouldn't be an issue, however the noise kept us up all night.

Good cheap option for central Geneva
Pros:

Walking distance to train station; good value (other options in Geneva were much more expensive). Basic but had everything I needed.

Cons:

Area around the corner is a bit sleazy (although doesn’t feel unsafe).

Good hotel
Pros:

Nice hotel, clean, nice staff. Ibis standards. Great location near train station, and not far from lake.
