Great service - lovely rooms. Breakfast is busy and the area tight for space so go early to avoid the rush.
Front desk were excellent.
I can highly recommend this hotel, it’s perfectly situated for the sights, a lovely area with plenty of bars, cafes, snack shops and sights.
The hotel staff were all top quality, they really welcomed us and couldn’t do enough for us!
The hotel and room was spotless, every day we used the elevator which is fully mirrored there wasn’t so much as a finger print on there, the room was very spacious and the beds made and towels and soaps etc replenished daily.
The breakfast was wonderful (my wife said it was the best selection and tastiest she’s ever had) - hot food was bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs, then so much other stuff (boil your own eggs) loads of donuts, croissants, breads, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, fruit and hot and cold drinks.
Anyway, great hotel, thank you all
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dei Mellini. Convenient location. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast buffet. Clean. Good choice for any U.S. traveler looking for a hotel in the heart of Rome.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff.
Rooms were perfect and clean with all amenities. The location was perfect as the majority of the historic sites are only 10/15 minute walk away.
Would recommend and would stay at again in the future.
It’s NOT grandeur as the pictures. Misleading photos. Although it was nice and clean. A junior suite does not provide free couple bottles of mineral water per day, nor body lotion, nor toothpaste or liquid handwashing. The breakfast is the worst ever. Don’t bother. They had the courage to charge 12 euros for 2 fried eggs (pre-fried, overcooked and cold), check the picture. Location is very good - central to tourist attractions. This hotel has zero views.
We stayed at the del Mellini on a long weekend break.. We had a wonderful time… Helpful professional staff, excellent room and bathroom… clean and immaculate … nice small bar.. convenient location ..Excellent breakfast with a wide range of breakfast food available, hot cooked food - cold meats - fresh fruit - smoothie maker..it was an exceptional choice… we can highly recommend del Mellini for a stay in Rome..
Very good hotel with good breakfast options and lovely large beds, very centrally located close to all sights.
Elegant and great location.
Il mio pensiero sulla struttura è chiaro. Vengo all'Hotel dei Mellini da decenni e mi sono sempre trovato bene
truly the best hotel in rome .....fantastic staff and superb service ...the rooms are superb and the attention to detail is unmatched
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Dei Mellini from December 13 - December 21, 2025. From the start, their service was exemplary. They answered questions, arranged rides, made suggestions for restaurants, and straightened our room every day. Always with warmth and kindness. Its location puts it within walking distance of so much of Rome's attractions. We're no spring chickens (ages 68 and 70) but we were able to walk the cobbled streets to the Vatican and the Spanish Steps, among others. We took a cab to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggorie but walked back. The bed was firm and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. (We had to walk so much to wear off the morning croissant.) I'd go back in a heartbeat.
The hotel staff was very knowledgeable of the area. The hotel location was a nice walk to Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel. nice amenities, very clean, and offered a wonderful breakfast.
Second visit to the Hotel Dei Mellini and it didn't disappoint. Stayed in a deluxe room on the second floor with a view of the quiet street below. Excellent bathroom, plenty of towels, slippers, bathrobe and good quality toiletries. Comfortable bed so slept well. Heating controls easy to use. Helpful staff and all very friendly. Great location. We managed to walk to all of the major tourist sites. Even the Colosseum, which was the furthest away, only took us 45 minutes.
One small criticism would be the breakfast. Would like a larger selection of hot food (there were scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon and sausages). Also would like a wider variety of pastries. Had pain au chocolat on the first morning, but none available on the other three mornings of our stay. But this would not stop me from returning again.
i very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. i was here for 8 days and found the location to be perfect for seeing so much of the vital part of rome one visits. being close to the tiber was a plus as the sunset photos were very beautiful. the front desk was gracious and helpful always as were the assistants and bellmen. the morning breakfast was varied and the wait staff exceptionally nice and obliging. i do plan on returning on my next visit to rome.
Location is great as it is close to multiple historic sites and restaurants. Hotel staff service is average, there were items (like extra pillows and towels) which I had requested and never delivered ( I didn't bother to ask twice). We booked the King Deluxe room, bed is comfortable and room is quiet, room is on the small side and the decor is more dated than the picture on the website.
Breakfast was good and included in the stay. The room was big with 2 toilets and one bathroom. We loved it that there was also a dining area in the room. There was also a laundromat about 200m away so we could wash and dry our clothes. Location was also within 20mins walk to Vatican City or to Trevi Fountain so it's really convenient. There were lovely restaurants nearby and express supermarkets and also the hotel is away from the touristy area so it was quite quiet but safe.
Not all the staff were as friendly but generally many were.
