Very pleasant, nice venue
Pros:

Good location/restaurant. Friendly staff.

Cons:

We had room at front which was a bit noisy due to passing traffic and no double glazing. Parking a bit restricted, but space in the road if necessary.

Lovely cosy pub stay
Pros:

Beautiful building and bathtub/bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

Can be quite loud from the pub noise below, and outside on the road. When restaurant/pub is busy, parking can be difficult.

We had a lovely stay in the Wheatsheaf Inn, everything was fantastic from the room to the breakfast. We would definitel
Pros:

We loved this property. The Inn was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. We even got an unexpected upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The bed was huge and the bathroom was spacious, the room definitely felt like a luxury. The breakfast was also delicious and very filling as there were continental options as well as a cooked breakfast. The staff also took the time to decorate the room for my partner’s birthday which was very kind of them as I know he loved the surprise.

Cons:

We couldn’t find any faults.

Nice stay
Pros:

We booked this hotel at last minute for 3 nights for a nice get away.
We stayed in room 10, the room was lovely and specious.
We particularly liked this room as its a court yard room so good access to outside for our small dog. They had also placed a dog bed, bowls and a treat box in our room. Nice touch but keep in mind its is £25 per night for a dog, which we thought was pricey and one price for the entire stay would be fairer.
The room was well kitted out with lovely roll top bath, bathrobes, his and hers sinks, Dyson hair dryer and lovely toiletries. There was also a chargeable mini bar, Nespresso machine & fresh milk bought in everyday.
Things we thought could have been better, the bed frame was wider than the mattress leaving 6 inches of space on one side. This was annoying when getting in and out of the bed as i hit myself a couple of times on it. We mentioned this to the manager upon leaving, hope this gets corrected for other visitors. Also a coat/lead hook would be good in the room as only 4 coat hangers provided in wardrobe. Cleanliness was good but floor in bath area needed thorough clean and the bins we believe should have lids. The other issue was the noise coming from the kitchen, they were talking loud and shouting from the early hours till late in the evening. Please note this room is right next to the kitchen. Breakfast is priced at £17.50pp, we dint have it but seems like this is average for the area. We did have dinner one night in the restaurant and although the food was ok felt pricey for what we got. Also as a vegetarian i was very limited as only 1 vegetarian main but this seems to be common in this area of the country unfortunately. If you are veggie or vegan try the den in bourton on the water, its only a little take away cafe but their menu is fantastic!
The car park was very small and hard to get out of. Enough room for 6/7 cars. We struggled on the last night with it being a Friday and the pub was in full swing, we parked about 10 mins down the road. My husband had to fetch the car the following morning to put our luggage in.
In summary the value for money for the room is good and the little luxury extras make it feel special.
Saw very few staff but the ones we did see were pleasant.
We would stay again if in the area.

Great atmosphere but little room
Pros:

Recently stayed 2 nights at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach, UK. Great atmosphere in this old, historic inn but along with that comes challenges.
We stayed in Room 3. Very cramped room. We only had 1 suitcase - if you had 2 suitcases, there would be no place to put it. If you are a larger person, or struggle with claustrophobia, the bathroom would be a terrible experience for you!
Free breakfast was appreciated. Good choices and tasty!
We had dinner in their restaurant for both evenings. Really disappointed with our second evening. We were seated but then no one came to our table or even acknowledged us for 45 minutes. And that was only after we got their attention. All other tables were getting service and attention. The 2 servers would look at us and walk away, but could see that we had menus, no drinks etc. When we did get someone to stop, we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience because we were told they were short staffed. Not sure if they knew who was responsible for our table.

Could have been better
Pros:

On arrival we was met by a surly young lady who led us to our room with no interaction other than "here is your room".
The room was nice, but with a few faults, the toilet seat was broken, as was the toilet cistern, the taps on the washbasin was loose, the toilet door was dragging and tight to move.....all things that niggled.
Once we settled in we went for a walk and came back into the Wheatsheaf for a drink and look at the menu for dinner, we were served by another surly young lady who i believe from the accent was Eastern European who shouted out she was leaving at 4pm and she did, another person had to finish serving us, we decided to go to the pub down the road for a meal.
On the second day we went out for the day and arrived back around 6pm to find no hot water....I rang reception and was told there was no hot water because other guests had used it, so no bath or shower for us then, we then put the TV and that decided to switch itself off at random intervals.
On checkout I raised these issues with a pleasant lady whom I presume was the owner/manager and she kindly agreed to refund me 50% of the bill.
It so easily could have been good, some staff training and room maintenance would have sorted these problems out.

PS. If you book directly with us, not only do you access our very best rates, but you can also bag our book direct benefits, too. That's later than usual check-out of 1pm, and first dibs on ever better rooms

That is taken from their own website, I booked direct and was not offered any of that.

Great, but play the game.
Pros:

The stay was great, room/food/hotel in general all fantastic. The only thing that took the shine off it was a couple of staff making detrimental comments about a potential customer enquiring about a stay on the phone. I'm not naive enough to think that people don't talk, but don't do it in earshot of customers sat in the pub.

Top notch
Pros:

I would 100|% recommend the Wheatsheaf Inn. Lovely peaceful location very central to all the famous villages. The staff were really nice and helpful, we had the most stunning room (room 11) with a huge bathroom and rolltop bath. I really think the photos don't do it justice. I can imagine in spring/ summer the outside area is gorgeous with all the planting. But even in winter, it was so cosy sitting in the pub, with real fires and lots of atmosphere - even on a Wednesday night it was busy! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food was great and reasonably priced. Service was great. I really couldn't fault the place at all and would highly recommend a stay!!

Great food, great room, great pub
Pros:

Love this pub, for ambience, food and location. This is first time we stayed in the accommodation, but have dined here before. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated in country charm.
