From when we arrived and throughout our stay, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room (50) had a pool and sea view with a balcony. A kitchenette provided all you needed if you wanted to prepare your own food. We did have to ask for a Kettle, but it was brought to us straight away. The room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage and plug sockets. The meals in the restaurant had plenty of choice, including for vegetarians. Explain to the chefs you’re vegetarian and they will happily prepare meals to your liking. The only downside was that the food could have been a bit hotter. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach with some bars. A supermarket is 5-minute walk away. As are boardwalks to enjoy a stroll along by the sea and the Lagoa dos Salgados where there is plenty of birdlife.
Great location. Very clean. Great room, food was good. Helpful staff. Would definitely go back again.
This hotel is in a great location. It is very close to the beach, Boardwalk to the nature preserve, and there is two bus stops right outside the hotel that take you to old town or shopping. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna and fitness center. That is well maintained and very clean. We use the pool and hot tub every day and there was only once there was someone else there. I never saw anyone in the fitness center. There is a games room for both adults and kids that is very clean and has lots of games like a pool table, air hockey and a bunch of other stuff. There is a large gathering area when you first enter the lobby that is also a bar area. The bartender was awesome, but all staff was awesome and very helpful. The outside pool looks amazing, but it wasn’t warm enough when we were there. The boardwalk beside the beach, for the nature preserve was an added bonus for those that like walking and looking at birds. The hotel restaurant was really good. There was always something for everyone. There is a grocery store five minutes from the hotel. You will find anything you want at this grocery store and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Very friendly staff. Room was very clean and the entire building was well kept. My friend went to the spa for a massage. Gabby was so good that she went for a second massage the same week.
We stayed at Vila Galé Atlántico Hotel for 7 nights over New Years. We booked a Junior Suite and were given a sea view room which was beautiful. Room 322 was spacious and the kids were given 2 separate beds which was perfect.
Only issue was that cleaners don’t wash the dishes in the room and there are also no soap and sponge for you to wash them yourself.
You also don’t get water in the room apart from the 1 bottle that is left there upon check in.
However, there is a supermarket which is walking distance.
Location is amazing and a 5-minute walk to the beach. Unfortunately, it rained most days so we spent it at the indoor pool.
We were abit disappointed that there was no kids club in December even though the hotel was filled with kids. We were allowed to use the kids club room but there was nothing in there to do.
The evenings were also disappointing as there was no entertainment apart from a few board games in the lounge area.
Breakfast was great and they have many food options. Staff was also welcoming and helpful.
Hotel is great but I would suggest not travelling in December as there is nothing to do at the hotel. I’m sure the experience during summer is different and maybe other resorts offer more during the winter period.
We stayed at Vila Galé Atlântico in December 2025 as a last-minute booking through Jet2. The hotel is visually appealing, with good facilities and very nice, spacious rooms, and there is no doubt that it is a good property in terms of infrastructure. However, it did not live up to expectations for what is positioned as a luxury, international resort.
As an international destination, the lack of English-speaking staff was a significant challenge. Communication with the team was often difficult and frustrating, which impacted the overall guest experience. While we understand that December is off-season and staffing levels may be reduced, the hotel felt severely understaffed to the point that it affected service standards throughout the stay.
Room cleanliness was inconsistent. Although the bedroom beds were made properly, the rest of the room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Our room was usually cleaned very late (around 1pm), and only at a very basic level. For example, sofa-bed covers that we removed and placed in a corner on the first day remained there untouched until departure, never folded or stored away.
The spa experience was disappointing. Communication again required translation apps, and even then requests were not fully understood. The steam room was dirty, with visible dead insects on the floor. The swimming pool jacuzzi had broken tiles, with loose pieces inside the water, and the ramp into the pool had no proper water management or anti-slip measures. Despite being wet and hazardous, the only precaution in place was two towels on the floor and a “slippery surface” sign. Unfortunately, my son slipped and fell on this ramp, and the response from staff showed little concern or follow-up, which was particularly disappointing.
This is a luxury resort with a very nice property, but the service levels significantly let it down. The only real positive was the lobby bar staff, who were genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Their professionalism and warmth were a small but important saving grace during our stay.
We used our Maui Timeshare as trade for our vacation exchange for Vila Gale Atlantico. Very nice location and property. Although I did not anticipate using 7 days and only used 5 days due to our schedule, the room we had was very good. Lots of room, service was great, bar and restaurant were also good. Very nicely equipped convenience store few blocks away. I would stay again at this property, but likely not in November due to weather which was not real cold, but not warm enough to enjoy the beach.
I came here with my Daughter & 2 1/2 yr old Grandson for a week.
Check in was very simple and a lovely friendly receptionist called Laura. The check in was supposed to be 3pm and we arrived at 10am from a long journey tired & hungry. The receptionist made a call and managed to give us a room that was ready, couldn’t fault it.
The room was very clean and quite spacious, we hadn’t ordered a travel cot but there was one in the room waiting. Plenty of fresh towels, kitchen was well equipped and complimentary water which was very much appreciated. We hadn’t ordered a lovely pool/sea view.
We freshened up and took ourselves to the snack bar, lovely freshly cooked burger & fries were amazing 🤩 It’s not the cheapest but was very tasty! I would definitely recommend the local cider, it was so good!
The pool area is very clean and at this time of year plenty of choice for sunbeds. The children’s pool is fabulous with 3 choice’s of slides.
The entertainment in the evening started with a kiddies disco and I have to mention that the entertainment staff were so attentive to my Grandson and went out of their way with him to make him happy.
All the staff were super friendly, big thanks to Hugo & Vitor from the bar for the best made Gins & Espresso Martinis 😊
Need to mention that the hotel is very near a wonderful supermarket that has amazing fresh meat, fruit and veg. A little bit more expensive than the norm but worth every penny
A lovely hotel in a great location but totally let down by the food. It was never hot, even 15 minutes after the restaurant opened. On our last evening, the turkey in a mango sauce was actually stone cold. Even if you managed to get something cooked in front of you, by the time you had waited for the fries to be topped up your meat/fish was not hot any more. And the vegetables, rice or wedges at the side of the show cooking were always only luke warm. The choice was very limited too, especially if you don't eat fish. Even the salad was limited. On the whole very disappointing although it has to be said that breakfast was very good with omelettes and eggs cooked on demand. Despite complaining on 3 different occasions, there was no improvement and the only solution offered was to mention it to the Reception staff when we were leaving.
The hotel was spotlessly clean but lacked little touches like handrails at the side of steps throughout the hotel and especially in the dining room, which was on two levels. There would also seem to have been a shortage of staff as it was difficult to get served in the pool bar. However the food here was very good.
Evening entertainment doesn't start until 9.45 which after a day in the fresh air and round the pool was far too late for us. And most of the children were in bed by 8.30, the start of the children's disco.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the Lobby bar was a lovely place to relax. This could be a 4 star hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms and it is only a short walk to the beautiful beach with bars and restaurants but I could not recommend it after our experience.
Just returned home from a weeks stay here. The hotel is very clean the rooms spacious and small kitchenette an added bonus. The pool and surrounding area very well kept with plenty of sunbeds. Handy for the lovely beach 3 mins from the bk door. A quiet area but bus stop outside to Albufeiras busy town hourly. Lastly the reception bar and restaurant staff so helpful and pleasant. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff who helped us when my husband had a nasty accident their kindness and concern meant so much to us.

We spent a week at this hotel half board and we were pleasantly surprised it has a very clean pool area and the children’s pool was fantastic for our twin toddlers with the variety of slides they also enjoyed the park and running round the hotel grounds, room was very spacious we needed 2 travel cots in the room and this was already done for us checking in, room is quite dated but didn’t bother us only thing we could have done with is a bigger bin in the kitchen area as it had to be emptied every day and maybe some updated cooking utensils and microwave would benefit the room but it was spacious and comfy
Hotel is very close to the beach and there is a supermarket along the road, quite pricy though but there’s nothing else around within walking distance
Majority of the staff were very friendly and engaged with our toddlers at meal times and one of the cleaners Ana was superb and very friendly whenever we saw her
Food was decent it was very similar everyday on an evening but didn’t bother us and breakfast had a good selection to choose from only thing which we didn’t enjoy was everyone smoking at meal times we chose to sit outside to dine and everyone around us was smoking maybe a dedicated smoking area would be beneficial (we would have sat inside but was easier to sit outside with twin toddlers as the high chairs were positioned at the outside doors)
This hotel is perfect if you’re looking to stay outside the hustle and bustle of Albufeira. There’s a small grocery shop nearby, and the beach is only a 3-minute walk away. A bus stops right outside (around €2 each way, running hourly) and it’s worth noting that Uber is much cheaper than local taxis — we paid about €18 for a taxi compared to just €5–8 with Uber depending on the destination.
The apartments are very clean and spacious with a large living area, which is great if you’re traveling with toddlers. The kids’ facilities are a bonus too — small slides, a trampoline, and a mini play park. Breakfast is decent, with a mix of fruit, cereals, and hot options.
Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for families with young children who want a quieter base close to the beach. If we were traveling without our toddler, I’d probably choose somewhere closer to more activity.
Thank you to Vitor e Ugo at the bat for their hospitality and smile
Patricia is also so nice Thank to her for all the activities all the day is very fun.
The hôtel is clean and very modern.
Amazing location and facilities
We stayed in a large 1-bed apartment with amazing sea views. The kids had sofa beds in large lounge area. The kitchen was really well equipped - with more than the standard 4 of everything. The air con was very effective. The room was regularly cleaned.
The pool area was good - fresh water pools. The small was a little too shallow and the big one a bit too deep for the youngest but I’m being picky as overall it was great.
It’s a rare find to come across good self catering facilities combined with breakfast. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with a chef to make pancakes, eggs and omelettes. The kids loved it.
The hotel is 5 minutes from a great beach and a few beach bars/restaurants but there aren’t many restaurants otherwise in walking distance. There’s a good supermarket (think Waitrose for all countries).
This is a great hotel slightly let down by limited number of walking distance restaurants. The staff were very helpful and overall a really lovely place to stay.
We stayed here as family of 3 (2 adults and a 3 year old). We have been coming to this area for the last ten years so know of local restaurants etc. The hotel was perfect for us, and we liked that we had a kitchenette to cater for our very picky child. The food and entertainment was also good. Mainly caters for Portuguese clientele. My son loved the disco. See you next year!
Fantastic stay, my partner and I had a warm welcome and enjoyed our stay thoroughly!
Had a lovey week stay at this hotel 25th July 2025, rooms were a nice size and very clean, breakfast lovey and staff friendly, we enjoyed the pool area and beach was a short stroll away, we found the hotel bar a little bit pricey, but the supermarket just a stones throw away was amazing, would definitely stay here again as loved Portugal.
The sea view senior suite had a fantastic sea view. Big room with two separate bedrooms and 2 sofa beds is great for families. Hotel really needs to have a Sunbed rule that if towels are left with no one using the beds there they are removed after 60-90 mins so other guests can use them and clear signs for that
Restaurant manager and his team really accommodating to our autistic teen.
Will be back again.
On upgrading my booking to a Standard Sea View room on arrival, the room designated was a ground floor Twin with an outlook of the back of the hotel where traffic passed and a tiny little view of the sea through some trees - not at all as the website brochure shows - I was told this was normal and as the sea could be seen it was a sea view - I asked for an alternative room with a 'sea view' as the room was not as advertised and was advised no other rooms were available - only to upgrade and pay £363.94 for a Juinor Suite with a sea view - the same view as advertised! The room was tired, walls in need of a paint, furniture had seen better days, I expected more for a four star upgrade. The Spa is tired, it is small and very hot and stuffy, the furniture is rickety and unstable - the cushions retaining all the wet from the previous user - really not a good spa feeling. The pool area whilst nice did not hold enough sun-loungers and this was non peak, plus they also were tired and some broken. The entertainment was below par and irriating with loud music blasting when a relaxing atmostphere is required. Being a family hotel too I expect children entertainment and some noise but not to the level it was and I felt quite insulting for the customer. I have stayed in much better for a lot less! Would I come back - no
