Great hotel very clean and comfortable. Food excellent lots of choice and fresh food . Waiter service friendly with a smile and efficient .we had a twin room comfy bed very clean and excellent shower garden view and a glimpse of the sea .
Check in was quick and we were lucky even though we landed early our room was available. Short walk to the promenade and beach . The bus into Palma was just by the hotels paddle courts. €2 into the city and the bus dropped you by the cathedral then went round to the station and back
The hotel was quiet with evening entertainment which we caught occasionally very enjoyable. Great stay and good time of year to go .
This was a good hotel. The room was large and clean and quiet, but hot and it was not possible to adjust the temperature. My friend and I got ill after eating at the restaurant. The indoor pool is nice but the air temperature was 28 Celsius which was too much. The staff were helpful and friendly. The entertainment was good. The hotel is near a good beach.
A very Honest review:
All inclusive
We arrived mid afternoon, was greeted by a very nice receptionist who went through all the times and where everything was and explained the all inclusive deal. X3 drinks with lunchtime meal, x3 drinks with evening meal (No spirits included) Beer -Wine-Sangria..
The lobby was very clean and spacious, we were given a room which looked onto the outside pool area, the room was exceptionally clean and well set out, but could straight away hear the conversation from next door..Beds and facilities were good..Cleaned daily with fresh towels.
I honestly cannot fault the food, all 3 meals were of an excellent standard, the work and effort the Executive chef and his brigade put into to prepare and producing is staggering. Always being replenished.
Themed nights faultless..👏👏
The cleanliness of the dining room is exemplary and is constantly being cleaned👏
The only problem for us was after the evening which was around 20.00 . (Meal time itself ended at 20.45 ) which I felt was too early.
most nights was going into the bar and show area there just wasn’t enough seating to accommodate the guests with many having to stand to view the show (Shame)..Disappointed..So we had to sit in reception area..(Chilly)
Saying that, I must thank certain staff who were outstanding 👌
Daniel in the restaurant, he seemed to be always there and very helpful, smiling working extremely hard.(Worth his weight in gold)
Bamber in the bar always a smile and a cheerful greeting 👌
The swimming pool was always packed but I’m sure it was because of the weather ( no outdoor pool) Although I found it strange that a lady was breast feeding her baby in the pool
Gym was excellent and kept clean, with hand sanitizers 👏
Spa was great and Carina was wonderful my wife had a facial, I had a massage both excellent 👌
This Hotel is very family friendly with lots of children under 5.
Extremely cyclist friendly..
Only a short walk from beach and bus stop
Amazing staff and as ever loads of great food, entertainment and the 24 hour cafe is a bonus 😉
We had a fantastic week the room was lovely very clean and well kept, the hotel was beautiful we made use of the pool, gym and the tennis courts as well as the evening entertainment! Which I will add made our week, Kris was brilliant, very friendly hilariously funny and an all round great guy.
The staff in the restaurant were amazing too always polite, food was delicious and it was great to have such a choice, thanks to Andreas on reception for gently persuading us to upgrade to half board.
We have already booked again!
Very good hotel very near of the beach and airport. The Spa is very good service by Carina, very good hands.
A fabulous hotel from which to launch your daily cycle rides through fabulous Majorca. Excellent food, kind, wonderful staff, clean, comfortable rooms, and a great vibe.
We stayed for four nights mid Feb. The hotel was very busy and a lot of the clientele were German families and a good amount of them were cyclists.
The staff were excellent in every area of the working environment, from chefs, waiters/waitresses, front of house, cleaners, entertainment providers, bar staff etc.
The hotel is very clean and there are many areas for people to relax with a book, or with a drink, or to watch the entertainers on the stage. The atmosphere is exactly what you want it to be, because of these differing areas.
The food, quality and variety of it is excellent at both breakfast and evening meals (we stayed half board) and we were offered all inclusive for a very good rate. This is because we like to eat out at a few places in C'an Pastilla and Palma.
The food provided is local and sustainable, which i applaud.
And anyway, this place has organic coffee, what more can i say. Organic coffee does not give jitters.
We stayed in a suite as a family, and it was a very comfortable choice — spacious, clean, and offering a lovely view. The location is excellent: only about 10 minutes from the airport and within easy walking distance of the beach. Getting into central Palma takes around 25 minutes by taxi or bus, which makes exploring very convenient.
As a family hotel, it has several positives. Luna (Manager) deserves special recognition for being warm, flexible, and genuinely accommodating. Kris (Entertainer) also stood out with great energy and enthusiasm. The kids’ entertainment programme was excellent, and the evening shows were enjoyable. We also appreciated the heated indoor pool. There are plenty of other facilities — tennis courts, football, spa — though we didn’t get the chance to use them all.
The food was pleasant overall, but we did feel there could have been more diversity and variety across the meals.
What went wrong
Unfortunately, some serious service issues overshadowed our stay.
The most concerning was the behaviour of Carlos (Manager). His attitude and demeanour were shockingly cold, dismissive, and completely out of place in a hospitality environment. His behaviour even made my little one cry, and he showed no empathy or willingness to apologise afterwards. In my opinion, this level of conduct is unacceptable for any staff member — let alone someone in a managerial role — and it significantly damaged our experience.
Another staff member, Ivan, was also rude and unhelpful. Although a different staff member later apologised after I raised the issue, the damage had already been done.
More broadly, many of the reception staff would benefit from proper customer‑service training. There was a noticeable lack of warmth, smiles, and basic friendliness — something you expect as standard in a family‑focused hotel. Additionally, our minibar was not restocked about half the time, despite repeatedly informing staff.
Overall
The hotel has strong potential thanks to its location, facilities, and a few standout staff members who genuinely care. However, the unprofessional behaviour of certain individuals — particularly at management level — and the inconsistent service made our stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.
Beautiful summer hotel with large swimming pool , large rooms all well lit up and food to die for (both buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Also entertainment every night.stall always with a smile very helpful ready to serve.
Wouldn't mind going again
Back to one of our favourite Iberostar hotels, which always feels like home on arrival. Greeted with a welcome glass of cava and a smile, which is perfect! A few minor negative issues, but on the whole love the Cristina and look forward to returning if, they can sort the entertainment issues.
We knew it would be different holiday with no familiar animation team faces, after the departure of Shane. But I did feel that the team weren’t really 100% committed to Cristina. Lucas the head of animation, was entertaining and good with the guests. But something was lacking with the rest of the team, not that bothered about involving guests in activities was just one of the issues. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t rude, just not to the standard, we have got used and expect of Iberostar. I do hope Iberostar can sort this issue out next session and don’t take on animations staff, who are using the Cristina as a stop gap, you need staff who really want to be there. The shows weren’t up to their usual standard, they were very poor and during one African acrobat show, there was a child standing in the swing area, the acrobat was on! Very dangerous and no was keeping an eye on this.
The wine tasting, well this is red wine, and this is white wine, was all the information we got! But hey we got free wine not included in our All Inclusive Limited! The tye dye t-shirt activity done in mass, was a great idea and we all came home with one! Also darts mid-morning was great and well attended but didn’t always follow the schedule which was displayed. Bring back sholbeck!
The pool was its usual welcoming self! However, I was surprised to see the pool towels being handed out by the lifeguards, which considering the incident last year, I would have thought their attention should be 100% on the pool and safety. I hope the refit, involves new sun loungers! Always enough to go around and plenty of parasols. I do like the new kids playground, which would have been invaluable in our early visits.
The positives far out way the negatives, the restaurant is amazing, the waiting staff to name just a few Daniel and Lorenzo. I must mention Bamba at the bar and his specially named shot. These staff go way beyond the call of duty!
The new Star Café was a great addition, and a very good idea, it served warm and cold drinks and pastries, sandwiches during the day and into the night. Very handy to grab a latte on the way to bed or a pastry.
The rooms we had a family room, same as usual, I do believe there is a refit for Summer 2026, so this will be interesting to see. The rooms are adequate and within no time become your temporary home. The cleaners weren’t as attentive this year, but I guess this is the pressures, of less staff and more work.
We had a lovely time at the hotel and were impressed with the service. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The buffet offered a great range of options everyday and always had a ‘theme’ for dinner which kept things more interesting rather than just the same food everyday. The room was lovely and bright and beds were comfortable enough. Our only complaint is that there was no real seal between the door into the room and the ground which meant noises coming from the corridor were particularly loud, especially in the morning. Kids screaming and people talking were heard very clearly and sometimes was a disturbance. This was on the 4th floor so unsure wether this is an issue on other floors too… perhaps the noise was slightly worse for us as our room was near the lift so there would obviously be more foot traffic. Asides from that we had a great stay and would definitely come back… hopefully when it’s a bit warmer out during the summer months!
This hotel was by far the best and cleanest hotel we have stayed, the 4* are more than reflective of the reality.
We stayed in a family room and found it to be immaculately clean when we arrived and continued to be held to that standard after each housekeeping visit. Only slight drawback was the height of the sink as our daughter couldn’t reach the soap. (Such a minor point in reality!)
The food was incredible, every day there was a variety of different foods as well as the staple for the less adventurous. The dedicated kids section was a very good idea and came in handy when our 5 year old just wanted easy food.
There was always a section dedicated to a different theme each evening. (Spanish, Asian etc)
The staff are so very hardworking and always aim to please.
Although no real kids splash pool there is a very child friendly section in the main pool close to the sun beds for doting parents.
The evening entertainment was fantastic, Lukas, Omar and the team put in so much effort for the kids, the daily mini disco felt fresh and not the same scripted display every evening. The main event shows are also to a high standard and aim to entertain all ages.
The location is perfect for the beach (we spent most days there!!) and also the buses into Palma. €2 per person is a bargain as well.
As per the rules by the Spanish government the alcohol is not all inclusive and is restricted to 3 drinks at Lunch and 3 with the evening meal. You can purchase more than this of course and I found it to be reasonably priced. (€5 per large beer)
Another special mention for Lucas and Omar, they made our daughter feel like she was special and always made an effort to speak and make time for her.
Great job guys!!!
If you've stayed at an Iberostar before you know what you're getting. We LOVE the Iberostar chain and are always happy with their rooms, restaurants and their communal areas. We've also benefited from the children's clubs which, theoretically, include teen club offering activities for 13-17 year olds. Whilst this sounds great I always find they should do more for this group. The Cristina hotel didn't offer one activity for the "Eagle Camp" during our 10 day stay during the summer holidays. My son joined in one adult game of water volley ball during our stay but the young kids were allowed to join in that too. I love all ages getting involved but if you're a 6'5" 17 year old it's obviously good to have a competitive game too! I think that Iberostar need to offer at least one water activity a day for the Eagle Camp/ Adults during the school holidays.
POOL
The pool area here is really nice and we always got sun loungers at any point in the day.
RESTAURANT
We stayed B&B as we prefer going out for meals and the breakfast selection was nice and the restaurant is also a pleasant area. I did sometimes have to ask for English breakfast tea and wait a while whilst someone found some - first world problems I know but one that could easily be rectified if someone is responsible for keeping this area stocked (note for the hotel rather than future guests!!).
ROOMS
Lovely and clean with everything you would need. Nice view of the sea, though not sure it was worth the extra we paid.
STAFF
All the staff we interacted with were really friendly and helpful. I always find Iberostar employees to be really efficient and approachable.
RESORT
We've stayed at several resorts across Majorca and this is my least favourite. It felt like Magaluf for Germans. The hotel is far enough away that this doesn't need to be an issue, particularly if you are All Inclusive, but we enjoy walking out at night and it often involved walking past large groups of drunk people. I went to Magaluf twice when I was young but it's not somewhere I'd choose to go as a family, nor the German version!
There are loads of nice restaurants all within walking distance though. El Patio is right next door to the hotel and we ate here a few times, nice food and good service. Al Faro beach is situated opposite the beach and we enjoyed lunch here most days. Really great food and fabulous service. Both these restaurants are nowhere near the hustle and bustle of the busier area.
BEACH
The beach looks beautiful and it's huge so loads of space. However, there was always an unpleasant smell of sewage which was off-putting!
We will definitely stay at Iberostar again but we won't go back to Playa De Palma.
Went the week before school hols, and the end of the week it was so busy though and slightly less enjoyable.
Food good
excellent with a 7yr old for some entertainment, dancing and food.
Clean and what you'd expect. really close to the airport which was an absolute must for us and made it really easy.
Checkin was the best - fast friendly and great language skills.
Room great - exactly like the pictures.
Air con good.
Pool area great.
Bar good value.
The only issue was the scrum for the buffet at peak times.
Great location. Walkable to beach, restaurants and shops. Nice pool and amenities
We were very disappointed with this hotel.
- Most of the staff speak to you in German or French and when we spoke English, we sometimes got blank stares back as they didn’t understand us.
- They run out of certain dishes (for example sides like fries and rice) very quickly, because everyone goes for the same food, and they don’t restock, especially when it’s busy.
- Tables aren’t cleared in time so if it’s busy and packed you won’t find a clean table to sit down at.
- Cutlery and silverware was always dirty and you had to find ones that were clean.
- The fridge in the room was old and useless.
- We bought an apple juice for €3 one night and the glass was only filled 2/3 of the way, not to mention it was warm.
The first night at dinner I was sat at the table by myself whilst my family was getting their food, I didn’t know how the drinks worked and an older waiter came over and was quite disrespectful. He persistently asked me my room number in German then French whilst I was eating and I replied in English once I swallowed my bite but he was very being very insistent. It was quite humiliating as people sat on the tables next to me were laughing at the whole interaction.
We also booked 2 rooms online based on which room number we’d like so my family could stay next to each other. They sent us an email to let us know that they changed our room numbers and we then replied and only got a response back 2 days later.
Considering this is a 4* hotel, we were extremely underwhelmed. We stayed in a 3* hotel last year that was much better than this.
Nice pool
Could have been cleaner
