Pros:

Cons:

Nach innen zum Treppenhaus recht hellhörig. Frühstück könnte etwas umfangreicher sein. Zimmerpreis recht überteuert.

Perfect place to stay in Mexico City
Pros:

We stayed for one week with friends in this hotel and it was a great experience. The room and the bathroom were very clean. We had a small balcony towards a plaza , which was active especially in the evening, but with the soundproofed doors , we had not problem at all. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Antonio , who was a waiter in the rooftop restaurant as well as in the breakfast area , was a delight. The food was extraordinary - soooo good ! Great breakfast with many options. The restaurant had THE BEST steak and pina coladas :)
The location in the old historic part of Mexico City was perfect for reaching a lot of places by foot or by calling Uber .
We definitely would stay again in Casa De La Luz when coming back to Mexico City,

Cons:

There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything was fine .

Comfortable, friendly, breakfast could be better
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were super friendly. Our room was at the front of the hotel and we had no problems with noise. The TV in the room had great connectivity which I always appreciate. Shower had great pressure and the rooms were clean. They helped us organise a hot air balloon trip too. Location was good, not great but walkable to centro. The surrounding car parks meant there were some strange people loitering but it was fine.

Cons:

The shower was a little fiddly with temperature. Included breakfast was very limited but feel this is a Mexican thing rather than just this hotel.

This hotel is a must. Small and grand!
Pros:

The building was stunning! After reading the history of this hotel, we enjoyed our stay even more. The staff were so helpful. The breakfasts that were included were tasty and amazing. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cons:

The detail to updating the building to luxury but keeping the history intact.

Don’t book it, not worth the price
Cons:

Unfortunately, I can only leave one star for this stay. We paid €600 for two nights and the experience was truly disappointing — especially for a hotel that markets itself as a 5-star property. In reality, it has nothing to do with a 5-star experience.
The biggest issue was the staff’s attitude. I kindly asked for help organizing a small surprise — a birthday cake for my boyfriend — and was told “I’ll let you know.” I never heard back. They simply ignored the request and acted as if the conversation had never happened. A small gesture that would have made a real difference, and instead confirmed the lack of genuine care for guests.
It also became clear that the quality of service depends heavily on whether you tip. If you don’t, don’t expect to be treated well. This kind of attitude is simply not acceptable at this price point.
On top of that, the replacement towels were old and in poor condition — far below the standard one would expect from a hotel charging these rates.
For €600 over two nights, at a place calling itself 5-star, guests deserve attentive, warm and professional service. Sadly, that was not the case here. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Beautiful boutique hotel, very charming.
Pros:

Location, only 2-3 block from the Zócalo. Breakfast was delicious every day. The staff were awesome! I want to compliment two staff members, Andrea and Heidy. They were very friendly, helpful, fluent in English. They always helped us arrange our tours, and were immediately responsive to our needs.
In fact, of all the places we have visited, both were the very best.

Cons:

Nothing that the hotel had control over. There is a public park next to the hotel. It was used by large groups protesting or holding public meetings. Sometimes it was loud.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel
Pros:

Breakfast choice was excellent and the staff awesome. The Tenotzle restaurant was upscale mexican cuisine which we enjoyed twice during our stay, although the wine was expensive.
You could not ask for a better location right near the metro and bus however you could walk to the Zocalo easily. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The only thing is it was a bit noisy at night. I don't know if the staff were cleaning at night or what?
