The hotel needs some upgrades the rooms are old and smell stale the elevators floors are soft as if you gonna fall when you step inside of them. The fridge was loud all night.
Bathroom was amazing! Bad was comfy. The balcony was terrible! Third floor and our balcony stuck out a good 10 ft past every balcony above us. There were cigarette butts everywhere and trash as well. Went out on the balcony 4 minute and someone spit from an upper floor and almost hit me. Terrible setup, balcony was unusable for us which was quite disappointing! The ocean view I paid for we did not get to take advantage of that and see the ocean. Also the property charges at $11 a day to park in their garage, never stayed somewhere we're parking wasn't included on their property
We didn’t stay the hotel room horrible
Pros- This hotel/motel was clean, water was hot and staff was friendly. Cons…. They charge $11 a day for parking which was unexpected. It reaks of weed in the hallways and on the balcony. It looks like they are trying to renovate slowly. 1/2 the room was updated but the other half of the room was janky… balcony door wouldn’t close all the way, condensation in the door, ripped curtains , crumpled drywall and stucco , garbage dumpster right by pool , making the whole side of building smell like garbage which unfortunately our room was above the garbage dumpster… if your looking for a clean space to sleep and a hot shower for the price … it wasn’t bad for a weekend.
The room was alright, but the building itself was falling apart, outside panel could be seen hanging from the building. There was a stain in the ceiling of our bathroom, the parking garage elevator smelt like hot electrical wiring. The outside pool area smelt like sewer.
Good value for the money. Don't expect champagne on a beer budget but if you like beer they have $1 PBR and other brands for $2 at the front desk. Overall the room was clean and comfortable and the beach view is as good as any other resort on Myrtle Beach.
I was honestly hesitant on staying here after reading some reviews, but then I realized we as a whole of society are just picky. The room was very clean and came with a sink, stove top, dishwasher, full size fridge for a great price! I loved the option of the indoor and outdoor pool because neither was packed. The bar was a little pricy but still convenient for being right there at your hotel! The walk out from the hotel to the beach wasn’t long at all and we loved the full size shower right after leaving the beach to get all the sand off! No bugs in sight and we were there for 3 nights! The only thing I will say is Hotels doesn’t tell you about the parking price and the additional resort fee so I wouldn’t definitely as about that if you’re worried about knowing the full price. Hotels said I had $192 to be paid but when I got there it was $275 but that’s the only complaint I have! Other than that amazing, and the guy at the front counter was soo nice even when I was slightly irritable about the hidden fee! Would definitely stay again!
Smoke alarms went off mutiple times during my stay! i had ordered food from toasted turtle and since alarms were going off couldn't use elevator, and couldn't get the doors to the stairwell open, my food was cold by the time i got to it! Had some kind of incident next to me, man either was being arrested, or kicked out or something. Yelling and commotion, and felt unsafe! My door saftey latch was loose!
Hallways smelled awful! By the deck by beach was covered in cigarettes. The awning above the deck was digusting with trash and clothes on it! Pillows and blankets were awful! Luckily had my own! However the matress itself was comfy. Never had an employee acknowledge me! The room itself was decent, the shower was great! Needless to say would not stay here again!
It was a nice get away
Sun & Sands was very disappointing. The pictures most definitely sold a dream. The rooms were not the same as the photos and the had bed bugs in each room that was given. The refused to give a refund until pest control came out and the manager stated that she called the pest control but they didn’t answer lol it was very laughable. Please DO NOT STAY HERE !
The only thing we didnt like to much where the indoor pool was the lighting was poor and no where to sit
It's was okay y'all need upgrades on lots of things ...put we had fun ☺️
Beautiful view!
The location is great, right on the beach, but the hotel is very run down. Worn out flooring in the elevators, missing floor moldings, The bedding was just 2 sheets, no blankets were on the bed.The air in the room was very damp feeling all the time, even with the air conditioning on. The outdoor pool was nice, looked pretty newly renovated
Seen roaches
Initially the front desk staff members were rather rude. The housekeeping staff member complained to me about her job and the fact that she was still at work bc she I requested for my room to be cleaned on the 3rd day. And when I checked a day in advance I was still responsible for paying the day I didn’t stay.
Outside of building and lobby were nasty dirty. Our room on the other hand was impressive .After seeing the outside and lobby we were concerned that our room would not be acceptable but, it was nice and clean. Looks like our room was newly remodeled. After talking to another guest at the resort they stated that the building was in bad shape and being torn down this fall. Area of the resort is not the part of Myrtle beach I would want to spend a whole week. For our one night it was fine other than they charge guest $11. Parking fee per day. When questioned about the parking fee we were told read the fine print next time. Kinda rude we thought.
The lobby area was run down looking and the bathrooms in the lobby area were horrible, paint peeling off the stalls, rust, gross looking tiles. I was really afraid at that point to find out what our room would be like. But when we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised. It was updated, bright, spacious and clean with a great ocean view.
Property really needs some renovations. Chipped paint. Dirty carpet in hallways. Smells like cigarettes. Dripping ceiling near lobby. Area is nice because it’s beach front. Rooms are nice but don’t expected daily housecleaning within the room.
