The carpets were filthy. My white socks were black after walking across the floor a couple of times. The floor tiles were loose in the bathroom. The room smelled musty.

Was visiting the family and there was a power outage so ended up spending a night here with the wife and dog while the power was out. Easy location at a major intersection, even if you have to drive through a large mall parking lot. The desk staff was helpful for the walk-in process, though they didn't mark our late check out request so cleaning knocked on our door at the normal time to see if we were leaving which woke up the dog from her nap. Room was comfy, clean, and a fair size, though not updated. I think they are working through renovations, though. We may check it out next time we are in town and something like this happens.
Front desk charged me over 500 for a reservation that was paid in full. I showed him the message from the hotel confirmation that it was paid in full. He said he didn't care. Showed him the booking confirmation...said he didn't care and that I needed to call booking.com. After I fixed his issue he said I would get refunded in about 5 days. Never seen a hotel charge my card without giving me a total first. I thought it was the normal incidental scan. Glad I saw the email. Toilet was plugged. Front desk handed me a plunger wrapped in a plastic bag to plunge it myself. No offer to do it. Just said there was no one there to do it....on a Friday evening at 4pm.....

I wish the place was more sound proof. Didn't sleep well due to upstairs and next door.
The location was convenient
The hotel was run down. The elevator had sticky floors and made lots of noises. The first room didn’t seem to have working heater so moved to a second room. Second room smelled so badly of old smoke it was hard to sleep
They were very accommodating - room was clean and comfortable
The surrounding area was a little iffy but don’t let that deter you from a nice hotel

Price and location
We have been staying at Hampton Inn's for years and NEVER had a bad experience. We we received an email renovations were being done. So we will give a pass on carpets and floors being in terrible shape. Biggest issue is one of the beds in our room had disgusting stains in the middle of the fitted sheet. I showed a piture to front desk and they gladly moved the room. The 2nd room was OK. Pillows were completely flat. Floors pretty nasty.. I can gladly provide a picture.
