It’s a beautiful property, but it’s showing its age, the rooms are tired and dated, the walls and doors are badly marked along the corridors, the ladies on the front desk were lovely. I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past and there is a young lady that has run breakfast every time and she does a wonderful job and is amazing, she is a real asset and some of her colleagues could learn a lot from her. The quality of the breakfast is excellent and hasn’t changed, but the evening meal used to be excellent but this time was poor.
It is showing its age, there are no onsite facilities not a thing to do, no gym, no pool, nothing! I have stayed in this hotel multiple times and it’s always been good, this time though something had changed. The restaurant no longer felt like a quality restaurant with fine dining and quality food, it was closer to a weatherspoons, gone with the quality menu’s in with a colourful mass produced menu with pub classics and the grill. Food arrived, gammon was the thickness of bacon, undercooked chips 4 pea’s one fried egg and not a pineapple in sight. The bar boys couldn’t manage a simple orange juice and lemonade. £22 spent on a wrong drink and crap food. When other guests asked the bar boys about wine options the answers were nothing more than grunts, um’s, yea’s and like. Eventually the guests got a choice of um that one and uurrr this one. The dated rooms could be forgiven if all the staff made up for it with good service, some were very very good, but 50% of them were terrible missing even the most basic service or bartending knowledge.
Size of the room
Paid for a premier room and it just about made standard in desperate need of updating
I loved the bath. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.
I do not like cheap instant coffee but unless you are at a very high quality and expensive hotel, this is what you get. Thankfully I bring my own.
Anastasia behind the bar was great right from the start, friendly and and helpful. Room was great, nice and big with everything we needed for a night's stay, bed was massive 🤣. Restaurant was booked and the food was amazing and decent portions, our server Leah was also friendly and helpful while we were there.
Comfortable room and helpful staff
Lovely attentive staff. Good food and an upgrade on our room. A brilliant place to stay with the dog. Loads of room for them to run free.
Nothing
Big comfortable room, excellent breakfast, very attentive staff
Bathroom a bit dated, but to be expected in a big old building
The staff were very welcoming. Room was large
Shower was hot and water pressure good
Breakfast was lovely
Large carparks
Bed was very uncomfortable. Very hard mattress .
Nothing.
What an awful place to stay Felt like I was on Epstein Island lots of children running around very indecent Around the communal areas, restaurant living room and bar we came here for a relaxing Two days stay as well and there was lots of weddings happening people running around yelling and screaming if you want to come to a hotel full of children running around indecent and people yelling and screaming until midnight and 6 o’clock in the morning. This is the place for you. I think I get better value for money in a motel rather than this hotel even the tables In the front reception has mould Underneath the glass, most of the window windows in this hotel are also blown and Need replacing wooden frames are cracking and fracturing letting moisture through the place is severely understaffed as well. If you want to get a drink from a bar you have to go wait by reception where there’s never anyone there for them to even come and make you a drink you’d be lucky to get any seating outside as well when they rent out the whole place for weddings whilst still having guests too.
