The reception staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble they made us feel very welcolme.
Shame the restaurant attatched to the hotel is franchised out!
Affordable
My room was very dated signs of flooding .tiles in shower cracked and damaged
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was adequately supplied & the fridge was cold though the door was a little sticky. The restaurant cooked a superb breakfast, probably better than some hotels I've had breakfast in Europe. It was a reasonably good location with a coffee shop across the road, a bus stop about 5-7 minutes walk away, plenty of restaurants (particularly Asian) nearby & a well stocked supermarket 400 metres away.
It could be as a result from previous tremors but the shower door was sticking & needed force to open & close it. The toilet paper was incredibly thin 2 ply that you could see through. I had to go to the supermarket & buy some decent 3 ply. There is no air conditioning despite what a friend read. It's a heating body & the only ventilation besides opening the window was a black tower fan with touch buttons on the top that defied logic & wouldn't have knocked a feather over. It's only redeeming feature was that it was loud enough to partially block out the street noise from below but the maximum time was 4 hours & then you have to get out of bed & restart it. The doors were so strongly sprung that the vast majority of guests simply allowed them to slam shut no matter what time of the night & the walls were thin enough to hear muffled conversations. There was a moment when I was punched in the head by the bed head while sitting watching TV & I could only conclude that someone had thrown themselves against the wall in the neighbouring room. The only redeeming placard in the lobby stated that renovations were coming. The last thing was the notice at the breakfast food bar stating that if you were leaving early & were not present for breakfast, that you had paid for, you could negotiate with the restaurant (which I found out to my chagrin wasn't owned or run by the hotel) for a discount on dinner with the breakfast voucher which had been given to me the previous day as I had originally been given one less voucher than was needed. I left early Monday morning so trotted down to the restaurant only to find it was locked & the receptionist told me the restaurant didn't open Sunday evenings. As there was no alternative & I had to be in bed for a 03.25 pick up to the airport I was lucky enough to have a little chocolate & a few biscuits to have for dinner.
Having to pay for parking, lifts very small. Under beds not clean and cracked seals in windows so could hear neighbours easily
Great location to walk around Wellington. Parking 'next door' was extra but allowed easy travel to places further afield.
Great breakfast, spacious room and clean
People that work there seem to be overwhelmed and aren’t helpful, Parkhouse next door $35 per day (barely any spots left and if you have a bigger car it’s horrible to “drive” in there and search for a spot)
Location
Price, staff unsure of prices, rooms too small for 3and 4 adults plus luggage.
Breakfast was very good.
Windows, little bit draughty and needed sound proofing from the road noise, even though we were 5 floors up.
Location, facility, comfort & staff were exceptional
All was good - no issues
