Very nice hotel and room
Cons:

The fire doors were very awkward to open when you were carrying luggage etc or holding dogs! Significantly the 2nd set leading to our room 157, which we had to go up a few stairs immediately after. These fire doors were suctioned together so tightly that when I pulled the right hand door to open it the suction caused the left hand door to also swing towards us and one of the dogs who was waiting to go through had her foot trapped under the door! It was not just knocked by the door it was physically trapped and she couldn’t release her paw herself only with my help! I thought she had badly damaged it and had to carry her to the room! Luckily she calmed down and there seems to be no lasting after effects. I realise fire doors are essential but this particular pair could pull back and hit a child just as easy!

Allergy roulette!
Pros:

Avoid this place if you have a serious allergy. I was treated like an inconvenience and exposed/made ill. Dismissive!

Abandon Hope, All ye Who Enter
Pros:

The shower was refreshing.
The Real Hand Cooked Ham and Colman's Mustard crisps were excellent
Some staff were polite, attentive and possessed a sense of humour.
Dominika, Nikita, Kelly......

Cons:

On one early morning as I emerged (from room 111) I nearly trod on some dog excreta on the carpeted corridor floor. Not the most pleasant way to go the breakfast area.
At the bar I was repeatedly asked 'Cash or Card?' before my request for a beverage was presented or served. I consider this a vulgar demand for money without the accompanying service delivery.
A particularly rude member of staff decided to slap my plate of French fries on to my table and in doing so unapologetically spilled some of my meal on the floor.(witnessed by other patrons who laughed at her churlish behaviour). VERY EMBARRASSING!
This particular member of staff took it upon herself to behave in an obnoxious, vengeful way going so far as to threaten me with eviction from the premises.
Very inhospitable.

Pros:

Breakfast was lovely. The location was good.

Cons:

The desk had coffee spilled down the side of it from the previous guests. We had to ask the cleaners to pay attention to it.

Not great
Pros:

The hotel was in a good location.

Cons:

The room was in need of repair and smelt of mould - the bathroom was not great. The bath panel was loose and kept making a noise in the wind. We were never told the dining room would be closed during our stay for dinner which meant having to go out. We were travelling with my 89 year old mum and eating at the bar as was suggested was not appropriate. Also there was not much space to sit in the lobby area which was again hard travelling with her.
