Lovely hotel full of character and great hosts

My room was spacious, spotlessly clean and, as an added bonus, came with a coffee machine so no terrible instant coffee in the morning. The food took what was already an excellent stay to another level at both breakfast and dinner with amazing food. The two men running things also strike the perfect balance of friendly, attentive and relaxed to make you feel welcome. When I’m next in the area I’ll definitely be staying again.

Lovely building, great owners, comfy clean room, evening food was lovely and a brilliant cooked breakfast. What more do you need.

Robert went out of his way to accommodate us with an early check in for the wedding we were attending. Lovely comfortable bed and spacious room

We needed a room for one of our workers for just one night. He was greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Made a bacon sandwich for our man to take to work with him as he started work prior to when breakfast was due to start. He said it was the best bacon sandwich he had ever had.!

Excellent place to stay! The owners are wonderful, accommodating and fabulous chefs! The room is sparkling clean roomy and quiet for a sound rest. Would highly recommend!

Traditional coaching inn which has been intelligently modernised. Good breakfast. Some noise from road after 6am.

A lovely characterful hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and home made touches appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet and convenient for the North Cornwall and Devon coast. We would most definitely go back again!

I had a very enjoyable stay in a comfortable en-suite room that was spotless. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Helpful friendly staff. Easy check in. Basic Menu but food very good, didn't get to try breakfast due to early check out (although offered a takeaway which was very much appreciated).Would happily stay again and recommend. The only down side were the answers during the pub quiz.

Lifton Hall is a character building in a lovely village near the Devon-Cornwall border. Room was quiet and very comfortable with every possible amenity provided. Staff were very extremely friendly and obliging. Food was excellent. Free parking and good wi-fi. Highly recommended!

The hotel staff were very obliging and helpful especially as I needed to check in early. The room was comfortable and spacious which I was not expecting, plus a great coffee machine.

Sad to hear that the owners Richard & Robert will be converting it into 2 large units for large groups within next 2 months.
