It’s just unique and has a Family type vibe
It’s great but unfortunately due to the past especially COVID times, things have changed. The roof top was once a great place to vibe out especially to hang out and eat or chill after a fun night in Tumon and see all the lights and cars to reminisce and get our heads right before heading home ( as a local)
Even for tourists if they stayed at another location was welcome and still are .
Our stay at the Royal Orchid was extremely disappointing and, more importantly, concerning from a health standpoint.
The hotel is advertised on Booking.com as family-friendly, which made the conditions we encountered even more troubling. We had to change rooms up to three times due to persistent air-quality issues. There was a strong mildew and musty odor throughout the entire building, though it was more concentrated inside the guest rooms. In addition, our rooms had visible mold and mildew and a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke. These are serious concerns and unacceptable in any accommodation — especially one marketed to families.
I was traveling with a toddler and an infant, and after the second night both my infant and I developed runny noses. I also experienced chest and throat tightening due to my asthma. While I cannot medically confirm causation, the visible mold and smoke odor made the environment feel unsafe, particularly for families with young children or individuals with preexisting respiratory conditions.
When we raised the issue, the hotel’s on-site maintenance staff inspected the room and signed documentation acknowledging the presence of mold and that the room was unfit due to health and safety concerns. Despite this, the hotel’s management team — which handles disputes online from the Philippines rather than locally in Guam — later denied that there was any issue. There was no sense of urgency from the management team, even though this was a documented health concern involving an infant and a guest with asthma.
Having written acknowledgment from on-site staff contradicted by remote management, combined with the lack of urgency, was both frustrating and alarming. Because disputes are handled remotely rather than locally, there was no meaningful on-site accountability, and communication felt procedural rather than solution-oriented.
Due to the lack of proper resolution, I ultimately had to dispute the charge through my credit card company.
Travelers should expect basic standards of cleanliness, safe air quality, transparency, and timely action when health concerns are raised — especially at a property advertised as family-friendly. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.
On top of all this, the walls are paper thin and noise travels so easily from hall to room and room to room. The hotel is absolutely dead with activities or life when you get to the lobby but I understand considering the smell of mold is also in the lobby and pretty hard to tolerate.
The location was near the beach
How the bed wasn’t cleaned right
The location, friendly staff, and pricing is fair.
There was mould in the first room we were given and it seems there was mould in the crevices. The linens were also stained and the light in the restroom was not working.
At least the bed didn’t have bugs.
Everything else. Horrible stay. Staff was nice but not helpful at all.
breakfast was great . service is good also . room was advanced and peaceful .
the parking outside . the road needs to be more secured and clean .
The size of room
Our whole stay was amazing, I just dislike how it’s been over a month and I haven’t received my security deposit. I’ve called multiple times and spoke to three individuals to handle this situation and nothing has been fixed yet.
nothing to like
hotel smellla like pee, mold, condensation, escaltor not working, entrance to the lobby ia a lokng amd comfusing maze, and the building is mot safe as it has notification it has safety issues
