Categories

Cleanliness
6.8
Mixed comments: several guests said rooms were clean and housekeeping was good, but there are notable cleanliness issues reported (black curly hair in bed, nose pickings in sheets, mould in bath, tired carpet) indicating inconsistent standards.
Service
8.3
Mixed-to-positive: multiple reviewers praised friendly and helpful staff (including after-hours help), though there were service failures (no staff in restaurant at times, courier mishandling, language/communication issues at reception). Overall staff responsiveness is a relative strength despite some lapses.
Location
9
Strong positive: repeatedly noted as conveniently close to Queenstown/Arrowtown, opposite the onsen and good for skiers; some find it a little far from town if not skiing, but location is a clear selling point.
Room Quality
5.5
Below average: multiple functional problems reported (very low shower pressure, heater breaking and being inadequate/noisy, leaking toilet, slipping showers, mould in bath, dated/tired rooms, limited/poor TV). Bed comfort had some positive notes but overall room condition needs refurbishment.
Amenities
8.5
Generally positive: family-friendly amenities (bowling alley was repeatedly praised, on-site parking available, dog friendly, free bowling offered in some cases). Some amenity shortfalls noted (no kitchenette in family rooms, paid parking).
Value for Money
7.5
Mixed: guests appreciated perks like comfy beds, free bowling and convenient location, but many felt the property is dated and that breakfast/TV/room issues reduced perceived value.
Food and Beverage
6
Below average: several complaints about breakfast quality (below average buffet, cold breakfast served in a chilly bowling hall, complaints about re-served food), indicating food & beverage is a weak area.
Overall Experience
9.2
Overall impressions are positive despite issues: many guests said they would stay again, enjoyed the snow/onsen proximity and bowling, and found staff helpful. The positive experiences and amenities tend to outweigh the service/room shortcomings for many visitors.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Decent location and paid parking was convenient, but rooms (especially the bed) needs
Pros:

It was opposite the onsen, but also around 15-20 minutes drive to Queenstown and Arrowtown.

Cons:

The heater broke on the second night so it was freezing cold. We were given a small portable radiator heater but it didn’t have enough power to heat up the entire room. I also found a black curly hair in the bed (neither me or my partner have black curly hair) as well as nose pickings in the sheets.

Wasn’t long enough, the snow was a bonus staying up there. Just stunning
Pros:

Stunning in the winter with the ONSEN straight across the road from the resort was a bonus.

The bowling alley for the kids, superb

The motel needs to up its game and improve its service.
Pros:

The room was clean. The service for cleaning was good. Made up beds, tidied room and cleaned bathroom and provided clean towels.
Breakfast was ok.

Cons:

I hated the shower over the bath. The phone did not work and had to get maintenance, but failed a number of times. I had a courier addressed to the Hotel with my name. According to the courier they came and the staff did not know the name ( my name registered there) and it was taken back to their deport. It was my medication. Staff should of checked my room number. By the time I found my courier I had it sent back to my home address. Very inconvenient, I was not happy.
Talking to the staff (reception) and lack of understanding English was a problem. At times I felt like I was the problem.
Breakfast. I was not impressed that yesterdays breakfast was offered.
The TV only had one channel. Maintenance could not fix. Ummm we had to watch the games on our phones. I was not happy.

We only had an overnight stay, would definitely there again and access all the benefits the resort has.
Pros:

After hours staff were really helpful and friendly

Cons:

The bowling hall where breakfast was served was very cold and felt like the aircon was on cold, which made the breakfast get cold fast

Time for some updates!!
Pros:

Beds are comfy, electric blankets. Clean & tidy. Handy location to most places just a short drive

Cons:

Very dated!! Tv channels were very limited, no netflix etc.
Heater is extremely noisy, to the point we didn't use it sometimes and it was the middle of winter.
Breakfast was below average, standard buffet but definitely lacking in standards😫

Pros:

Great that it was dog friendly and we also appreciated the free bowling in lieu of no housekeeping offer!
Did think that the car parking should be free and included.
The location is good if you want to ski but for us that don’t ski it is a little far out of town but an ok drive.
The 3 beds in one room was good but would have been good to have a kitchenette so we could make breakfast.
Overall happy with it the staff and stay! Would stay again!

We are ok with that but not really feel welcomed, might be staff looks tired due to going busy occupancy.
Pros:

Location is good, easy to find.

Cons:

Rooms are too far from entrance, if you have luggage then very hard to manage.
Have some access emergency doors but didn’t opened for guests check-in and check out.
Management put notes everywhere like you got fine for this, you got fine for this.
Its mean you can use anything but can pay us fine.
Hidden charges for carpark, which is not too high or unjustified but At least 1 car they should charge in room rent, rather than extra. And another is parking charges if any.
