We stayed here for a week and what an amazing experience!! The room was clean, it was in an excellent area and the staff was INCREDIBLE. The breakfast was so nice especially while sitting on the beautiful rooftop. Me and my girlfriend got a hammam the day before we left and it was so relaxing. Steve who was working the front desk for most of our stay was so welcoming and helpful. Can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back!
The staff was very helpful and tried their best to meet our requests.
Excellent location for the museums and souks, with many good restaurants nearby. Youssef and the team worked hard to make my stay enjoyable.
The building is not in the best of shape but they appear to be giving it some TLC.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and good value for money.
Location is a little bit less frequent part of the Medina, but still very good, everything can be approachable on foot. The building inside is beautiful and clean. What the best is the service. They were very flexible with our requests, especially with the time of breakfast and calling taxis. The sound insulation of the windows could be a bit better.
A real favorite for this riad! The place has a historic and authentic charm, and is calm. Very close to the Medersa Ben Youssef, the souks, and about a 15-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna square. Breakfast was served on the beautiful sunny rooftop terrace. It's different every day, very good and plentiful. Our suite was spacious, decorated with taste, and very clean. Excellent bedding and smart TV. Magnificent and truly relaxing hammam! Recommended! We were able to benefit from hotel-like service in a riad. The entire staff was very attentive. Everything was perfect for our stay. Thank you. I recommend this establishment without hesitation."
I am seriously disappointed with this accommodation.
I tried to cancel my booking via booking.com platform just a few days before my arrival as my plans has changed. I have been texting to the hotel with explanation, asking for wave fee as I was suggest that it is possible. It takes ages to get reply from them. I was told they haven’t received any email from booking.com and they are happy to go with cancellation hence booking will contact them. I have been texting and calling booking.com and I have even prove that they have tried to contact them but once again …. the accommodation didn’t reacted to their email.
When I arrived to Marrakesh I have called the accommodation and tried to sort it out again.
The receptionist wasn’t friendly towards to my Moroccan friend either me and refused to help. In fact he hang up on me!
I still didn’t get any response from them or money back. I should get back at least half of the payment if they would refuse full cancellation.
It seems very clearly to me that they have been playing “dead” so they could get full payment from me and use the room for another guest. So double payment.
First of all we organised a car from the hotel to pick us up at the airport. After waiting for 50 minutes and making 3 attempts to contact the hotel we got our own taxi. The taxi dropped us at the entrance to the Medina which was a 30 minute walk to our hotel dragging suitcases over cobbled streets in the dark 10 pm. We had to pay a guide to get us to the hotel and when we got there he wanted €20 and was very threatening. Not a good start to our stay.
The hotel manager then lied saying we hadn’t given them our flight details and another lied saying the car was there.
The room was a decent size and the bed was large as described. The biggest problem was that it was very noisy, the stairs were right outside our door so no peace at all. Noisy footsteps until late at night and then starting again early in the morning. The breakfast area was also just outside our room so also a noisy area.
Now to be fair they did keep apologising for not picking us up from the airport after I had to prove to them that they had confirmed my booking of their taxi and also gave us a couple of drinks each.
We were do to go back to the hotel four days later for one night, our experience was so bad that we cancelled and paid the cancellation cost.
Super sejour tt est parfait
So clean , Mohamed and shahin were really helpful. Had the most amazing hammam scrub from sameera she made me feel so comfortable also rawiya and Mariam were so lovely !! All the staff are always ready to help and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable . Mohamed even met us outside to show us the way back to the riad . They all make you feel at home definitely recommend staying at this Riad if you’re visiting Marrakesh.
Honestly one of the best places I've ever stayed on holiday. The hotel is beautifully decorated and run by the best people I have met. Me and my partner were waited on hand and foot and whatever we desired they provided, whether it was taxis or whatever food we requested. The staff were all so polite and helpful and we have made some friends for life. I'd especially like to thank the owners Shahin & Mohammed for making sure we were always happy and satisfied and helping us understand the local currency. - We have left feeling like we are a part of their family. If you were thinking of heading to Marrakech then this is where you NEED to stay. If I could give it 10 starts I would. Thankyou so much!

***Please read completely if you are considering staying at Riad AIX****
It is really disappointing to leave this review, but unfortunately, my partner and I had several negative experiences at Riad AIX that would make me NOT recommend others to stay here. We also don't think this is an isolated experience -- we spoke to several other unhappy guests who felt they had been cheated in some way.
Scam #1: AIRPORT SHUTTLE – We booked the airport shuttle through the hotel, but the hotel did not tell us what the cost should be (actual cost is 7 euro / 70 MAD, driver charged us 20 euros, which is not a huge problem, but the hotel should tell guests the price in advance). When we arrived, the driver purposefully dropped us off a few blocks from the hotel and told us to go with another man who would take us to the hotel (5 min walk). We didn’t have internet to guide us, or we would have walked ourselves. When we arrived, the other man (not associated with the hotel) asked for additional money. I tried to say NO, or finally offer him a small tip (1 euro), but he demanded 10 more euro). When I said no, he then became aggressive and started shouting at me in front of hotel staff, who did not help us to talk to the man or tell him to go away. I refused to pay, and the man and other men said “OK we will be waiting for you outside when you leave the hotel to talk about this later. We will come find you”. This was within our first hour of arriving! When I explained this to hotel reception, they did NOT take the situation seriously and instead started laughing saying it was “no big deal” and that the men “wouldn’t do anything”. Very upsetting, given that this scam seemed to be created by the hotel to exploit its guests for more money.
Frustration #2: CHECK IN -- When we arrived at 6 PM, we were forced to wait 1.5 hours (90 minutes) in order to be helped by reception to be given our room key, after the first scam occurred. The reception told us our room was not clean yet (arriving at 6 pm!), and they barely apologised about this. We talked to other guests upon our arrival who were also very frustrated and unhappy because the hotel had gone into their room without permission and moved their things to another room. They also said the SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WITH THE AIRPORT SHUTTLE TO THEM, so this is clearly a scam the hotel knows about and is creating.
Scam #2: DINNER -- We had dinner at the riad once, and they told us they didn’t have a dinner menu to show us (eg, with prices), but the owner at reception said he would “give us a special meal because of what happened when we arrived”. I asked the reception specifically for the price of the dinner, and he said “just 13 euro each”. The dinner was fine, typical for what might cost $10 in the Medina at a restaurant). However, when we were checking out, we were billed 30 euros PER PERSON for the dinner (not including alcohol, etc). When I asked the manager for clarification, he insisted that we “misheard” the price, and said he said 30 euros (for 2 vegetable tagines!!!), not 13. 30 euros per person would be an INSANELY expensive price for such a small dinner in the Medina, but the manager insisted I was wrong and we were afraid of being late for the airport or I considered calling the police. This is a typical scam in Marrakech (google it), where you are told one price verbally (with no menu offered to show the price), and then the bill says something completely different and they insist you heard incorrectly.
Frustration #2: NO HOT WATER DURING EVENINGS - We booked a suite during our stay because we wanted to use the bathtub which looked romantic. However, each night when we tried to take a bath, the water was only warm, not hot (water was hot in the mornings, but never at night). I assume this is because they are trying to save money on bills.
AVOID THIS PLACE. VERY FRUSTRATING AND DECEITFUL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Amazing place in the old city, good location, inside of the medina, good relation quality/price, really nice food (awesome breakfast on the terrace). It was really clean and the service was amazing. Again, the food was fantastic!
Thank you so much!
This Hotel was our haven for our Honeymoon within the busy Medina in Marrakech. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We stayed there for almost a week. Very well designed, calm ambiance, and with the breakfast being served at the roof deck. A dip in the refreshing swimming pool after walking all day under the heat of the sun was great! The hotel is also conveniently located, only walking distance to the square and some other tourist locations which was a good thing since my wife sprained her ankle on our first day.
We availed the Hammam with Massage and it was surreal! The Masseur is very skilled and kind. She is also the one who serves the amazing breakfast. The receptionist extended his help the entire and also waited for us during our arrival although it was already too late.
We highly recommend this hotel and will stay in this hotel if ever we come back to Marrakech.
Our holiday at Kabaj palais and spa was the perfect Marrakesh experience. Gorgeous room, crisp linens and wonderful breakfast. Adnan was the kindest and most generous host. Excellent hammam by Mariam.
Amazing experience. Great food, extremely friendly and helpful service and perfectly situated. Rooms are big and very confortable. Just 5 min away from the Medina center. Very recommended!
On our late arrival at 00.30 they still prepared for us an amazing dinner.
