Pros:

Very friendly, helpful staff. I felt welcome and cared for throughout my stay. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are visiting Fisherman's Wharf or Alcatraz.

Adequate accommodations and delightful staff.
Pros:

The staff were very pleasant, were a great help when we needed to switch rooms to one with a in room restroom. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided just on time. It was a nice little room.

Cons:

There was a construction site nearby that caused noise at our window. The rooms looked slightly more spacious in pictures.

Beautiful, cozy hotel in a great area!
Pros:

The location was excellent. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. North Beach is quiet and hotel is a quick walk to Washington Park, etc. I did the shared bathroom option of which there were three on the hall and never crowded and always clean.

Cons:

No towels the first night (which they fixed while I was at work). The room is small but was basically in it to sleep anyway.

Pros:

The old hotel is furnished like a hotel from the lake 1980s or early 20th century. The rooms are small and you share the bathroom which adds to the charm.

Pros:

Loved the location. The room was cute and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great!

Cons:

Construction was ongoing but things get updated so that's a good thing. The bathroom closest to my room was out of service so that was a small inconvenience. I wish coffee were available throughout the day.
