Copal Tulum Hotel

Great stay

One of the best hotels ever. If you want peace and quiet- good food, beautiful grounds, safety, and the most outstanding staff ever- you will love Copal. Ivy, Johnny, and Victor at the front desk were nothing short of amazing and friendly. The hostess/waitress Paola, was super helpful. She found us a driver that was half the price of the others. I cannot tell you how much I loved this hotel. You must go experience it for yourself. We are returning with our family!!

It was nice pleasant

I had a fantastic time in Copal. They had complimentary parking but you could also rent a bike if you wanted. I ate in the gastrobar for breakfast and lunch, food was very good and prices were normal for what’s in the area.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom jungle view room. The hotel itself is gorgeous, very peaceful, the staff is amazing. We mostly dealt with Johnny and he was so nice, gave us great restaurant recommendations, and overall a really welcoming presence. The kitchen comes equipped with basic kitchen ware such as cutlery, plates, cups, pans to cook in etc.

We got a deep tissue massage from the healing spot, it was fantastic. The masseuse was very friendly and listened to what you requested, the price point was also very reasonable unlike many other spas that are overpriced.

The hotel is located near the main avenue, you have a 7/11 and gas station less than 5 minutes away so that’s very convenient, and you have a supermarket about 7 minutes away. Getting on the main avenue is less than a 10 minute drive so it’s perfect if you plan on taking day trips you’re very close to the center and can pretty much go anywhere without much added commute time. The hotel is located within a 30-40 minute drive from the airport.

The only negative I have on the hotel is that I think the maintenance on it could be a bit better. The shower and faucet has a lot of water build up, the kitchen drawer liners are a bit stained, there are some dents on the doors, etc. Small details.

We really enjoyed our stay at Copal and I would stay again. The private rooftop pool was really special and the jungle views were amazing. The apartment was well equipped but could do with some more cutlery and a kettle. Before going, I was concerned about the area not feeling safe or being loud with development but this wasn’t the case. The area felt safe and convenient for getting to other parts of Tulum - I saw many women walking their dogs alone after dark. There is work going on in the area but I didn’t hear it and it didn’t affect Copal because of the jungle trees hiding it from view- I’m usually sensitive to this sort of thing. The roads and paths were fine and walkable -even with a pushchair. Nearby park for kids & on street parking readily available outside the hotel. We stayed with our toddler and he loved the main pool downstairs because it had shady parts. If you prefer sun, there is also the rooftop pool - or a private rooftop pool if you choose those rooms (which I thought was well worth it for us with a toddler during nap time). Small gym was helpful. You can rent bikes from the hotel but we didn’t. Overall, I would recommend Copal; it was actually my favourite hotel from our whole trip in Mexico (5 hotels in total). The only thing I would say, at the end of our stay my partner heard someone mention that we could visit Copal’s sister hotel for free. Not sure how true that is but it would have been nice to know since our final hotel was nearby to it.

Every thing I ate in both restaurants were amazingly good our room was so nice and comfortable all the staff are friendly and helpful loved this place

Loved the calm and peaceful atmosphere here. It was well kept and very clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful! We will be coming back to stay again!

Great boutique like hotel, great options with your own personal plunge pool. Great breakfast, lunch, and dining options. Loved the Jungle feel within the hotel.

Staff is so friendly. Everyone was so courteous and check out isnt until 12pm which is a benefit, they arranged a driver for us as well to pick us up from the airport. I will definitely be back. The room was also beautiful and spacious, came with its own pool. We only stayed one night. The food at their restaurant was also very delicious we ate there for dinner and breakfast and they have HOOKAH.

This is my second stay at Copal, and I returned because my first visit was so exceptional. The resort is stunning, featuring two outstanding on-site restaurants. From the moment you arrive, a serene atmosphere envelops you. The staff is incredibly warm and hospitable, ensuring you feel at home. Any shortcomings in service are quickly remediated, showcasing their commitment to guest satisfaction. The location is ideal, with a pharmacy, grocery stores, additional restaurants, and an emergency room all within walking distance in a very safe area. I’m already planning to make this a yearly tradition!

I really enjoyed my stay at Copal. The staff was extremely friendly and prompt to all my requests. The location is in a great area and not that far from the city. I gave this property four stars because of the condition of my door. There were times that I could not lock it, which was kind of scary at night. But other than that, I would definitely stay here again.

It’s a lovely boutique hotel with a great design. It has greenery in the center and a great pool with restaurant that has good food. The upstairs rooftop pool is very nice as well. The neighborhood however, was a mix of people living in shantytown type of living. The cenote behind the hotel would be nice if they picked up the trash, but there’s a lot of it.

This hotel was beautiful! I had an amazing time during my stay for my birthday. I’d definitely visit again, the staff was very friendly. The restaurants were excellent as well. We also had great massages. 10/10 experience!

My boyfriend and I went as an anniversary trip, we absolutely loved the whole experience. Such good service, great customer service. The restaurants on the property were amazing very sanitary and good! Definitely recommend and will be back!
