Had a nice stay at the Ramada by Wyndham Munich Airport last September while visiting Munich and attending Oktoberfest. Nice location near the airport in a safe neighborhood with easy access to the local bus that took us to and from the major train system. Najeeb, who had the evening shift at the front desk, always made us feel welcomed and attended to all of our needs. Clean room, quiet hallways, and pleasant atmosphere. Nice selection of beers for purchase in the lobby.
Picked for price and proximity to the airport. Everything was okay except for rude front desk staff and shuttle service. Only offer the service one way to the airport for $10Eu) found whe. Scrolling through the fine print. From airport to hotel is bus?? or taxi ($25Eu). Taxi drivers pissed cuz it’s a short trip for them. Next time, I’ll find another alternative.
No direct shuttle bus. Instead a bus that drops you 0.2 miles from the hotel. Very poor for people with mobility issues.
Loud motel.
Was very serviceable for sleeping overnight, convenient to airport. Did not offer shuttle service from airport to hotel, though.
Late afternoon shift staff is better responsive but lack of alternative dining at surrounding area and 512 bus is either early or late, no other transportation option unless drive.
As a frequent business traveler, I stay at many hotels but rarely write reviews. However, this Ramada location had such low standards that I feel obligated to warn fellow travelers.
UNSAFE ELEVATOR: This is genuinely dangerous. The electrical system has major problems causing the elevator to reset while you're inside. The cable system shakes severely during operation - it was so bad I ended up using the stairs with my luggage rather than risk it.
ROOM CONDITIONS: My electronic door lock was completely broken, forcing me to use an old-fashioned key with the lock mechanism visibly taken apart - it looked like a third-world operation. The carpets are disgustingly stained throughout and desperately need replacement. The shower head holder was broken with no way to keep it positioned, so I had to hold it with my hand while showering.
MANAGEMENT CLEARLY DOESN'T CARE: It's obvious from these conditions that management has no interest in proper upkeep or guest safety.
The front desk staff are polite but seem oblivious to the deteriorating condition - unfortunately they just work there and it's not their fault.
WARNING FOR BUSINESS TRAVELERS: This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in years. Please save yourself the disappointment and safety risk - find different accommodations near Munich Airport.
They use a taxi service for shuttle back-and-forth to the airport which is €10 per person. The taxi driver never got out of the car to help with luggage and brought everyone to one terminal and said it was a short walk to the second. It was definitely not a short walk. I could understand using a taxi service, but the service should have been better. It was a very short ride for us to pay €20 for that poor service.
I was very disappointed with this hotel. 1st the bathroom tiles were full of mildew, someone needs to show them how to clean. 2nd the Hair blower did not work properly, it would shut off after a few minuted. Lastly, the advertise Free shuttle to airfort. It is not free. If you stay here have some snack or food, there is no food near by.
There were plumbing issues and the shower water overflowed into the bathroom.
Everything is good Service is amazing
everything was perfect need to little bit on back yard. Rest everything was excellent.
They lied on Hotels.com. This hotel does not have a shuttle bus. Had to rely on local bus number 512 (Atomis and Premier Inn hotels are closer to the bus stop) The pavement surface is not great for wheeled luggage. Hotel failed to deal with the repeated complaints about the lack of tea and coffee in my room. The lift was broken and judging by the "out of service" signs on the doors it had been for a while. I saw no evidence anyone was trying to repair the lift. One morning they had no hot breakfast due to "power outage" I didn't believe them!
You get a fan in your room but there is no A/C. Everything is closed on Sundays, so plan your food accordingly.
The room was clean and I was staying for only one night so it didn’t matter much. However … few things to point out for future improvements.
1. The list included airport shuttle as one of the provided services. It wasn’t quite accurate. Apparently the airport to hotel shuttle stops at 1pm. But hotel check in time is 3pm. How does that work? I ended up taking the local bus 512 and after getting off the bus it was a five minute walk to the hotel entrance. Beware if you have big luggage or lots of baggage. Also beware the local bus only takes CASH!
2. The lift wasn’t working at the hotel during my stay. Lucky I travelled light. I didn’t have to move a lot of bags. The guy at check-in in front of me wasn’t so lucky.
3. The pillows were as flat as sheets rolled up … so request in advance if this is something important to you.
Overall, I’m glad I had a roof over my head for the night after landing late at MUC airport. Hope the management will look into these.
Happy travels everyone!
Great easy experience for my 18 year old who was traveling alone.
The hotel is fine for a stopover near the airport . Clean and I had a good nights sleep.
Quite area.
Our room was very clean and eco-friendly, as well as clean grounds, lobby and beautiful green trees around the property. The staff was SO friendly and took really nice care of us! They deserve so much credit for their warmth and caring personalities.
The hotel was convenient and close to the airport. We walked to a restaurant nearby for dinner. The hotel staff were helpful and we had a nice night stay.
The hotel is very clean and the room small as is the European standard, but very liveable for overnight and a good price maybe 50 Euro in advance. They also have day use rates, which oddly can exceed the overnight deals, and are flexible as to your arrival time. The ladies at the front desk are friendly. BUT the shuttle service no longer picks up at the airport, and the taxis will rip you off. For a 25 Euro 4 km ride I got a grand tour of farmland for 45 Euro. And it can cost 10 Euro for the shuttle if not included, which is pot luck. The hotel is completely unresponsive to email via Expedia etc. There seem to be buses by the taxi stands but good luck finding out if they go to the hotels strip unless you speak German. This is long street with as few hotels. Try another one and buy an electric adapter on he way out if the airport for 15 Euro. P.s. This is far from downtown so not good for a quick visit to Munich.
