Inhuman.
Pros:

We were due to go to the Grand Hotel San Pietro in July last year.

First of all when we booked our room the hotel took twice the amount from our credit card ( €7548 extra ). We had a right pain actually getting them to repay us. They were totally unhelpful and basically said that we had booked two rooms instead of one. As this was a non refundable rate they didn’t want to repay us! The second €7548 was taken from our account a week after we had booked the room. We actually thought this was fraud, and our bank stated that this should not be done. Took ages to get them to repay us.

Unfortunately i had a mini stroke the week before we were due to go and could not fly on doctors advice. On contacting the hotel they were totally unhelpful and when asked for a credit note or ascertaining whether we could move the dates, again they were totally unhelpful and didn’t even reply to our emails or telephone calls. They ( of course ) did not repay us or moved the dates. Awful.

Another hotel we booked for the same stay could not do enough for us, immediately gave us a credit note ( even though this booking also was non refundable).

We will be visiting this hotel ( Bastio Suites ) in May. We will stay well away from the Grand Hotel San Pietro. Terrible inhuman service.

Pros:

Everything was perfect.
The staff were really friendly and always had a fast response for whatever we needed.
The hotel has a shuttle service to the city center that is awesome, very helpful.
Amazing room (great balcony view, big bathroom), pool, gym and breakfast.

Cons:

Wish they had Netflix or Amazon Prime on TV (no streaming available).

Totally Excellent
Pros:

Absolutely excellent hotel in every way. We think without doubt the best in Taormina having visited most. Fourth visit in August and more cracking every year.
The delight of this real oasis is that the hotel is superbly run and has the best staff we have come across (photos below) out of the 23 hotels we have stayed in the last 12 months.
Thank you one and all. Especially the boss, Nino and his boys, Gaby at the pool and everyone throughout the bars and restaurants particularly the really considerate breakfast team, reception and rooms team they are all first class

From the moment we arrived, this hotel exceeded every expectation. The location is unbeatable, steps from the heart of the town yet peacefully tucked away with superb views that left us speechless. Waking up to that panorama every morning felt like a dream.
The breakfast was nothing short of spectacular: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what made it truly special was the staff, they remembered us from day one and reserved the perfect terrace spot for us each morning. That breathtaking terrace became our daily ritual, sipping coffee with the skyline unfolding before us.
The staff are the soul of this hotel. Warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, And the service? Outstanding. We returned from breakfast one day to find our room freshly cleaned, the floor sparkling as if just washed, such thoughtful attention to detail.
The people make the hotel, and here, they are exceptional. Clean, luxurious, and infused with heart, this is more than a stay; it’s an experience we’ll cherish

Pros:

What an awesome stay at the Grand Hotel San Pietro! The shuttle to the main area of Taormina was very helpful for us. Our room was wonderful. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The food was very good but the buffet breakfast was my favorite. There was live entertainment at the bar a couple nights. All the bartenders were great. The entire staff was always friendly and engaging. Everything was perfect...the room, staff, food, location.....we cannot wait to return!

Beautiful views, gorgeous hotel with excellent service
Pros:

This is an exquisitely beautiful hotel and the hospitality is very professional and personalized. The hotel itself is positioned above the Mediterranean so the views are incredible. Rooms are beautiful, bar is fantastic and breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea is unforgettable. Just steps from the town of Taormina.

Excellent stay on Taormina

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They are also very professional and bend over backwards to ensure your comfort during your stay. The breakfast was outstanding, the service during breakfast and at the restaurant for dinner was outstanding. The hotel pool was lovely and the shuttle service was a welcome addition to the stay. We would definitely return and stay again. Thank you you too the hotel staff that recognize my husband‘s birthday and made it special by having a cake made for him and presenting it to him during breakfast. He was very thrilled!

Highly recommended if want to stay at a quiet and luxury hotel in Taormina. And it is accessible.

Memorable stay for a perfect holiday. The ambience is great. The dining experience was great too. The staff are very very nice people. Free valet parking, free shuttle van to town centre. Nice interior design, have blended in the Sicily heritage with a modern touch. Amazing

Lovely!
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing; Gabriella was wonderful. The pool was lovely. The valet and shuttle staff were very helpful and accomodating. Gabriel at the pool was also fantastic.

Cons:

There was a lot of staff for the amount of guests so there was a lot of “fussing” during breakfast.

We asked the concierge for restaurant recommendations as we were meeting friends for dinner but the staff kept recommending the hotel restaurant and offered no other options.
