Enjoyable week at the Hotel Club Sorrento.
Pros:

Location is a good 20 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, but beware of the Italian driver. Pavements are very narrow in places. Easier access to the centre is by taking the train from Sant’Agnello station. Next stop and you are there. If you are heading in the direction of Napoli get to Sorrento station early or be ready to stand for the journey, particularly as far as Pompei.
Hotel is quiet except before mealtimes. It has a pleasant relaxed air otherwise.
The rooms are on the smallish side, but fine for a week’s stay. Perhaps a bit of updating is due in the shower compartment as I found it a bit small (I’m 1.83 metres).
The hotel was very good value, particularly as we went half-board.
Cleanliness could not be faulted, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were cleaned every day with sheets etc. being replaced at times.
The train service goes by very close to the hotel half hourly in both directions, but stops at 10.30 pm and is not really an inconvenience.
All of the staff were excellent, as a family run hotel everybody seemed to muck in and help. Particular mention should be made of the waiters, who deserve to be enjoying holidays rather than providing them.

Brilliant hotel great holiday
Pros:

The hotel is very clean and very well-run. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of prosecco which was delicious after a long day. The food at breakfast and in the evening was absolutely delicious and lots of choice. The service was excellent especially the two Francos, who were so nice and kind and we had a great laugh with them. A really great hotel in a great location. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Friendly family hotel clean and good value.
Pros:

Very welcoming the staff could not do enough including dropping off and picking up at the pick up point which was 5 minutes from the hotel. The rooms and hotel very clean, spotless, the staff never stop cleaning and the rooms have everything you need including a safe and fridge. Private balcony with views across the swimming pool and garden. Breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold options, and evening meal a basic choice pre ordered at breakfast time but cannot complain about the quality of food, and service outstanding by both Francos, lovely old school waiters who know how to please. Location good, 5 minutes from rail station, bars, cafes and local shops, 20 minutes walk into Sorrento main town.

A return trip
Pros:

We visited this lovely family run hotel last year and just had to come back. We aren't fans of large, impersonal, faceless hotels so when we found Hotel Club we were very pleased. It is family run and they can't do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. Luigi, Franco and the team are just really nice genuine people. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the pool area uncrowded. Food isn't fancy but very nice, we like to eat out as well but did get the value of our half board experience. The train station and bus routes to Sorrento (1 stop by train) and Naples are 2 minutes walk away and very inexpensive. At Hotel Club you are staying amongst the local people and you get to experience real Italian life but its also so close to Sorrento to get the excitement, culture and cosmopolitan experience of this beautiful city

Pros:

Absolutely not a 4-star hotel — beware of hostile management

I never leave reviews, but Hotel Club Sorrento deserves a serious warning. The room I was given was nowhere near the standard of a so-called 4-star property — think budget roadside motel, not the Sorrento experience advertised online. I’ve stayed in La Quinta Inns that were cleaner and better maintained.

Before booking, read the bad reviews and notice how “Luigi,” the manager, responds. Unfortunately, those comments aren’t exaggerating. When I contacted Expedia to request a refund and move elsewhere, he actually got in my face in the lobby, yelling and accusing me of complaining “just because I’m American.” After Expedia called him, he offered to “upgrade” me — something I never asked for or needed — and then used that against me as leverage. This was the second of three rooms I was shuffled between during a two-night stay. He even threatened to call the police simply because I had reached out to Expedia. Truly pathetic behavior.

The pictures used to sell the hotel bear little resemblance to what you actually get. The property feels tired, small, and poorly kept. Luigi may be proud of his establishment, but that doesn’t make it any less disappointing.

Save yourself the headache: there are far better options in Sorrento for the same price (or less). Travelers coming from far away deserve a warm welcome and the quality promised — not hostility and sub-par rooms.

Club Sorrento Break
Pros:

I had read all of the reviews prior to booking and thought that it was worth a punt at the price quoted by Jet 2. This was my first holiday with a partner as I have been a solo traveller for the last six years, so this was a new experience. I always give an honest critique rather that being too critical , which I will raise towards the end of my piece. First of all the hotel is "quirky" in that it's a mixture between Faulty Towers and Acorn Antiques ( Remember Julie Walters soup sketch, The older Edwardo was a replica of Julie). The hotel is spotlessly clean with fresh towels provided daily. The staff are exceptionally friendly with the two Edwardo's in the restaurant being rather elderly but absolutely brilliant and funny. The bedroom was adequate , but had no drawer space, the shower was compact , and with our room number 109 facing the side street we had a great deal of road traffic noise , train noise from the line which is 50 metres away and through no fault of the hotel an adjacent apartment had the yappiest small dog in the world. The breakfast was good , plentiful with good variety, however, the dinner was the opposite. You were presented with a menu at breakfast with a choice of four starters and four mains, these were just ok in my view, yet my partner enjoyed the fish choices and everything came with an abundance of lettuce. Each course was presented immediately after each other or occasionally prior to completing the former. There was no choice of dessert, it was a fait accompli, with either two slices of melon , a bunch of grapes being presented most nights, however, we did receive a tiramisu and a vienetta slice on one night. In my view it is about a 2.5 star. Having said all of that, my negative views are to a degree only minor and are personal. I have already been offered the same deal by Jet 2 for the same dates next year which i am considering , though I will tend to eat out most nights.

Hotel Club Sorrento
Pros:

Git dropped off by Jet2 at a small bus terminus, expecting a short walk to the hotel. The hotel had sent up their own vehicle to run us down. The driver insisted on taking our bags in for us. We had a brief wait in a well appointed reception area, and a gratis glass of wine. Smooth check in, clear instructions about the week and times for breakfast and dinner. We were on the first floor looking onto the entrance of the hotel, with a small balcony. The view from this side of the building isn't great, but we weren't there to sit on the balcony! The room was well appointed, beds were comfortable and the bathroom had all the facilities you expect. There is a railway runs past the hotel, the sound wasnt bad and the trains finish at around 11.00. The double glazing did its job and we barely noticed them. We weren't aware if them starting in the morning.
The hotel has a small pool, around 12/13ms by around 4.5ns. It was fairly quiet for most of the time we were there..Very nice and well looked after area with seating around and a little recessed area with tables and chairs. Ideal if you wanted to eat lunch or have a drink with a little solid UV protection.
There's a very nice rooftop sun bathing area. It has jacuzzi, but they weren't operating during our week. Adequate sun loungers, tables and chairs for the dedicated UV addicts.
The walk into Sorrento is about 15 minutes along a busy main road. Got well over our 10000 steps most days! You can walk down towards the sea front and walk through the back streets. There are buses if you feel it's too much.
The evening meals were basic, but tasty and filling. A mixture of pastas, fish and chicken. The desserts lacked variety, but I'm not a big dessert fan anyway.
The hotel booked our excursion to the Amalfi coast, to see Amalfi and Positano. It was cheaper through them than through our tour operator. A nice day out on a boat visiting these notable places. We had bioked a bus tour to Pompei and Herculaneum. The bus trip to Pompei took around 50 minutes. A fascinating day. It is exposed and there is a lot of walking! Herculaneum is equally interesting. We also took a trip around Capri on the public ferry. Good value and interesting again.
For our return trip, Horel Club again, supplied a free trip to the terminus. Great service from the hotel staff. Clean towels everyday when the rooms were gifted. Reception staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Restaurant staff were very prompt delivering good and clearing tables.
Overall a good hotel, very reasonably priced and good staff. It isn't the most central as mentioned, but the walk to town was not an issue and quite enjoyable. Italian traffic is spectacular!. If im heading back to Sorrento I'd definetly looking at going back to Hotel Club

Fantastic experience!
Pros:

Grazie mille to Luigi and his lovely family and the staff who made our holiday so unique and lovely. The hotel is “quirky” and a real experience, unlike so many hotels which are the same and unmemorable. The Hotel
club Sorrento staff go out of their way to keep you happy. The hotel is so clean too. We had breakfast and dinner and it was great. The waiters are both called Franco and we loved them both (see attached pic!). They are a big asset to the hotel and very unique and comical. The dinner was so lovely and delicious and carefully prepared. The wine is reasonably priced too.
We took the nearby train to Pompei and local buses to Amalfi and Meta (lovely beach and accessible) and it was all very easy, as was walking to Sorrento. - took us 15 minutes. You can get the train which is quick or bus if you don’t want to walk but we like being active. We met some lovely other guests in this hotel. We had some really nice conversations. A big thank you again to Luigi and everyone. We had such a fantastic experience.

Hotel Club Sorrento
Pros:

Just back from a week at Club Sorrento and it was a great week. The staff were fantastic everyone had a smile and a greeting everyday. The hotel is small but looked after well, the rooms were a good size with ample storage the only small negative was the shower was small but usable. The grounds were lovely with a nice shaded area for when it got hot and a nice pool to cool of in too. The food was great with a good choice and freshly cooked and the waiters were very attentive thank you guys. The hotel is about 20 min from Sorrento centre but there are local buses a minute away. The area itself has local shops and bars/ restaurants within a few minutes walk. I would highly recommend coming here and we will be back again.

Great Place to Stay
Pros:

This was a last holiday to an area I had never been to before. The welcome upon arrival was nothing but heart warming and relaxed me into the rest of the holiday.
Yes this is a family run hotel, with every member of the family playing their part to make sure every single guest is cared for and looked after during their stay. Salad Items, Vegetables, Sauces etc were home grown and prepared for all to enjoy, which goes towards how thw hotel meets the greener sustainability of its operation. Bravo, as not many places can offer such a traceable field to plate offering.
All the food offered may be simplistic, but is all very tasty and no one will ever go hungry.
The pool is a much welcome place to socialise and chill in at the end of a day exploring. The bus stop to Sorrento or Naples are only 2 minutes walk from the front door. The train station is only 4 minutes walk with a very good translating ticket machine to purchase tickets from. The train service is crowded (but which service isn't these days) but efficient.
So, tranport links are exceptional from a quieter part of Sorrento and from this wonderfully hosted hotel.
Thank you Luigi, Mario and family for a wonderful stay with you all. Value for money is totally excelptional, asis the cleanliness throughout the hotel.
