Howard Johnson by Wyndham Rock Hill

My reservation was for 2 nights and I only stayed 1. I wish it were none but my significant other was too tired from driving up from Florida to go elsewhere so I begrudgingly sucked it up for the one night.
There was mold galore in room 118. All on the ceiling in the bathroom and into the bedroom. The ceiling was also cracked like there was water damage that had occurred from a different room upstairs. It had been patched but not well. There was a crack in the sink counter that had a black spot where I could assume it was mold as well; if not a big burn spot. The couch was dirty, a towel had a brown stain as if it wasn’t cleaned, there was a Mike and Ike sticker over the eye hole, and cigarette burns in the curtain and couch. Terrible cleaning job - this room needs serious attention/repair.
I’ve stayed at this property numerous times before and never have I been so grossed out before until now. I understand, you get what you pay for but this was completely disgusting and I will not be back. 1x is enough for me to say never again.

could have used a little more variety, eggs and bacon something a little more substantial would have been nice, but like i said most places dont offer anything anymore

Very humid in the room because there is no bathroom fan. Room had a strong mildew smell.
Location did not feel safe for walking.
Continental breakfast had no fresh fruit or yogurt. Milk was in a dirty pitcher. Waffle mix was too runny. WiFi access point in our room had to be reset.

We arrived a little early, notified the staff and they said the room was being worked on. While waiting til check in we explored the surround area. When we arrived the room was absolutely unacceptable. We took photos. Bbq sauce on the floor, food stains on the bed skirt of the bed and the bedding. The bathroom was not cleaned. The air unit cover was not on and it was so dirty. There was fries on the rug. The floors weren’t vacuumed. It was gross. It was supposedly a smoke free unit but clearly someone smoked in it and it smelled like animals. I get people may lie in their check in process but man oh man! It was gross. Then the chair in the room was bit up by a dog, clearly! We then had to be changed into another room. It was better smelling than the other two we were shown. But, I still went to the store to buy cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom sink and tub as well as the floor in the bathroom. I cleaned the microwave and wiped the fridge down and the tables in there. Later that night we saw a roach crawling up the wall! I was not trying to go to another hotel. We had JUST ditched another hotel because they said it was smoke free and it wasn’t! Then I was charged a $67 fee for that cancellation and I won’t even get that money for 7-12 business days. I could not afford that again! I don’t think I’ll ever rent a room there again. I know I need affordability but, the conditions at a hotel stay should never be that way regardless of how much it is.

The cockroaches, the people smoking outside of the room. The air conditioner was so loud, the floors filthy, the towels and sheets as thin as paper, the furniture was broken and breakfast was a joke. The cereal was stale as well as the mini donuts.

Could use better reading lights for reading in bed.

Room was half clean and 1 of the beds was sunken in the middle and also we found bedbugs in the middle of the night and we got up and left after complaining to management and honestly he ddnt care. Also had flea bites all over my legs. The worst hotel stay ever and wudnt recommend to anyone.

Told the facility that I needed a main level room, due to not being able to go up and down stairs very well (all room are iutside entry with no elevator). When I got to the hotel, I again told them I needed a main level room due to not being able to walk stairs....the last at the front desk looked at me and said "nope, 2nd floor". Guess if your not in a wheelchair, you dont actually need accommodations for physical issues. Will not book here again.
