Hotel Luna Llena

Good location, clean pool, nice people around and amenities and close to the beach. However a few things would make this property better: wifi connection (dropping sometimes and not quite available in the room), darker blinds (room is so bright) and breakfast (although super basic it’s still ok, but once the coffee dispenser is empty, it’s not filled up - even if it’s within the breakfast hours). Katherine was amazing! I love the breakfast and they keep the Costa Rican charm I love unlike the huge resorts it was so warm and welcoming.

Nothing stood out as exceptional. Fair for the price paid. It was quiet. Will probably spend more next time and get a higher end property.

I've stayed at Hotel Luna Llena twice since 2024, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in Tamarindo. This charming little oasis tucked into the jungle offers a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere just a short walk from the beach and everything the town has to offer.

The included breakfast is simple but satisfying, with delicious coffee and my personal favorite—the pancakes! On my most recent visit, I stayed in one of the bungalow rooms, which featured a cozy, round design and a small kitchenette that came in handy.

The property is clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. I’ll definitely be coming back! The pool is focal point and just wonderful to float around in.

Hotel in a great area and very close to the beach.

It is a very cute hotel setting and there were monkeys in the trees outside the hotel.
We were a bit concerned when the breakfast gal dumped a cup of coffee back in the pot. Otherwise, it was great.

We enjoyed the security, the cleanliness, the staff, but not the howler monkeys noise until we knew what was causing it!

The location is perfect: a short walk to the beach and restaurants, and yet in a quiet street with birds and monkeys in the trees. The pool is a bit odd, but eventually we got used to it. The room was very good. Breakfast good

This place was a little gem to stay at. The bed was fairly hard to sleep on but everything else was very clean and the amenities offered were awesome.
They did offer breakfast and we did end up sick afterwards, not sure if it was just an off day but we didn’t eat the breakfast again after that.

It is a beautiful property and in a great location to easily walk to the beach and part of town with restaurants. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent. Only disappointment was the pool bar isn't operational at this time, but the pool is nice.

I never leave reviews but this was the best hotel! It was in walking distance to everything but just enough off the path to be peaceful and relaxing when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of town. The breakfast was cooked to order and was amazing! The room was super clean and quaint and the staff was absolutely awesome, especially Russell. We will definitely be booking here again!
