Everything was good except the room.
More like a university residence
Super charmantes altes englisches Hotel mit ruhiger und naturnaher Lage direkt am Fluss. Leckeres Restaurant.
Clean and helpful staff
The breakfast was poor due to the quality of products especially the scrambled eggs and tea
Great location and very nice surroundings
Breakfast was excellent
Very spacious room well appointed with everything you need
Aircon struggled to keep the room cool in recent heat wave. >30 degrees
Very confusing hotel layout with what seems like a maze of corridors
The location was ideal for our family visit.
Good sized room
Breakfast had a good selection but not worth £21.50.
The room appeared to be very nice, with great air conditioning (very hot outside) so the room felt great.
But after a couple of nights of something sticking in my back, checked to see what was causing the lumps in the mattress.
On checking found the mattress very soiled and the mattress buttons had exposed plastic remaining straps sticking out all over mattress.😞
The bedroom window over looked what appeared to be delalicted buildings with windows covered in pigeon muck.
Not coming back.
Hotel appears very upmarket and vhigh grade from the from but very run down at the back.
Carpets in common areas very worn
Loved the hotel very quintessential English. Lovely beds had exec room
Garden at the back needed some love
Air conditioning throughout
Bar service was very slow. It took ages to get a coffee. Had to ask 3 times.
Lage
Breakfast very bad! Don‘t drink coffee!!
Nice and comfy hotel and decent value with friendly staff. Room and bathroom really spacious with great air con. Downside is a lack of attention to detail which lets the overall vibe down. These flaws could so easily be fixed and would make a huge difference to the overall aesthetic of the hotel. For example the dining area is beautiful with high ceilings and huge windows but they overlook a terrace that is an absolute mess. Full of weeds. No one wants to look out on that. Would take a couple of members of staff less than a day to tidy it up and strange it hasn’t been done. Beautiful gardens and outdoor space but again tainted by cheap rattan furniture that is broken in parts and just shabby looking. Perimeter of carpets full of crumbs/ not been hoovered properly. Beautiful curtains pinned back with plastic paper clips. Chipped glasses. Guests notice things like this. I’d recommend investing in some good gardeners and getting the lovely outdoor spaces looking manicured and less run down. And maybe more eagle eyed cleaners.
