I wouldn’t stay there again
Pros:

The location to the convention center was good

Cons:

The safe was broken and the van fixed it but then the next morning the safety didn’t work
We got in late and there was no cleaning for four days of our room. We just had to grab towels when we could.

Pros:

- Lage war ausnahmslos perfekt ! Direkt am River . Alles fussläufig erreichbar
- beim Check in erhält man 15 Dollar pro Tag Gutschein - das ist perfekt und man kann es beim Frühstück nutzen ! Frühstück bekommt man im Restaurant direkt am River ! Wunderschön
- Zimmer sind unglaublich groß - wie eine Wohnung ! Genug Platz
- Pool ist in Ordnung - für ein Städte Hotel gut ! Aber viele Kinder
- Fitnessstudio ist schön aber Geräte etwas in die Jahre gekommen und Peloton Abo ist nicht bezahlt also kann man die Fahrräder nicht nutzen
- Parken würde ich keinesfalls beim valet sondern direkt daneben ist eine Garage die kostet den halben Preis pro Tag !

riverview watching plants and buildings, bathroom and bathtub from 1980, towels so cheap and overused, black long hair on towel and mattresses, we couldnt sleep since doors next to us kept opening and closing 10pm to 1am, mattresses so old, wet like from humid and small. Fridge empty. Definitely not even 200$ for this room, not 440

Ignored, Passed Around, and Deeply Disappointed

Cons:

Firstly, I booked a room from June 11 to June 17. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to check out two days early.

Before leaving, I contacted the front desk to ask if the final two nights could be cancelled and refunded. The front desk staff told me to contact Booking.com directly. Booking.com then informed me that the decision was entirely up to Hotel Contessa. I reached out to the hotel multiple times through messages and email and received absolutely no response. Nothing. They simply ignored my requests and passed me around in circles. It was a frustrating and unacceptable experience.

Beyond the refund issue, I honestly find this hotel extremely overrated.

As a Singaporean Chinese visitor, I genuinely felt that I was treated differently by some members of the staff. The attitude towards me was cold, impatient, and dismissive. What made it worse was watching the same staff suddenly become warm, cheerful, and welcoming toward other guests. As a lifelong San Antonio Spurs fan who travelled halfway across the world to visit the city, it was disappointing to feel unwelcome while others appeared to receive entirely different treatment. Whether intentional or not, that was certainly how it felt.

The hotel itself is also showing its age. The toilet in my room was loose and literally shifted when you sat on it. Housekeeping was not automatically provided and had to be requested. The pillows were old, worn out, and had a noticeable smell, with the filling clumped together and hardened from years of use. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had. Ironically, had Hotel Contessa simply responded to my requests and handled the refund situation professionally, I would probably have rated it a 5/10 despite the hotel's many shortcomings. Instead, the complete lack of communication, and apparent disregard for a paying guest dragged my experience down even further. San Antonio was the highlight of my trip. Hotel Contessa was not.

An excellent stay
Pros:
