Disappointed to say the least and I won’t be returning.
Pros:

The room decor was nice enough and layout for breakfast, bed was comfortable. Cheerful and polite member of staff.

Cons:

It was dirty - the shower had hairs in it, thick dust in the corners of the bathroom, stain on the dressing table chair.
It was noisy - at 6am the barrels were being changed right outside my room.
Could not car in hotel spaces - was full up apparently with locals drinking in the bar. So I had to park in the town car park, which at least was free, but inconvenient. I was able to move my car later in the evening.
There was no food service in the evening which I didn’t realise when booking and as a single woman, was not keen on going out to eat. Ended up buying a sandwich from Budgens!
Breakfast was disappointing - a ‘bed’ of granola with a dollop of yoghurt and compote, more granola than anything else so was very dry. I very rarely write a poor review but I really was disappointed by this stay.

Room at front very very noisy on street we didnt get to sleep till 4am !!

Classic coaching Onn with decent rooms.
Pros:

Nice old coaching Inn with refurbished rooms. Very pleasant breakfast area.

Cons:

Can be a some road noise - but not all night long.

Excellent stay, friendly staff, comfortable, clean, convenient, plus excellent cooked breakfast.
Pros:

Staff very attentive, was seen straight away even though they were very busy when we arrived. Breakfast ( Full English) was superb. So well prepared and tasty, one of the best I have ever had. On site parking very helpful.

Cons:

Very noisy outside as it was also a pub. Not the best place to stay if you want an early night on a Saturday. As we had been out all day we were so tired it really did not matter, but worth noting if you are a light sleeper.

I travel for work so having the receipt is critical, this is rather challenging in this hotel
Pros:

Location is great

Cons:

Obtaining VAT receipts is a nightmare. There is noone to answer the phone or respond to emails.

Luxury accommodation on a lovely town would highly recommend the breakfast
Pros:

Lovely property and room especially loved the bath.

Cons:

For the night it was quite expensive but it was the best we could find for that area as we were visiting for a concert

Charming
Pros:

This hotel has great history and charm in the heart of this old town. Wonky floors and period features remain. Comfortable bed and attentive responsive staff. I'm glad there was a car park.

Cons:

Milton Keynes... sorry but give me an old town anytime
