I booked my wife, daughter and I into a Junior Suite for two nights. When we arrived from Helsinki, our room wasn't ready yet. We were given some Prosecco while we pre-registered and were told we had been upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite. The hotel has a total of 23 rooms; cool. No elevator. Is very historic and a little rustic. The pictures of the lobby do not betray how quaint it is and, honestly, those pictures alone were a big factor in us picking the hotel. It was awesome. My wife and I saw in the lobby both nights, drinking wine, talking, being warmed by the fireplace. It was great.
Due to the time that we left on our final morning, we only had breakfast once. It is served downstairs and a cozy cellar-like setting. The cold stuff and breads are laid out and then you order eggs, pancakes, etc. off the menu. My omelet and the pancakes the girls ordered were good.
The location of the hotel is great, and it was the second reason we chose it. We were central to everything, and popped in regularly as we explored the town.
The room itself was nice. We had a king bed for my wife and I with separate duvets, and a good sized sofa bed for my daughter. In a building as old and historic as this one, you make some concessions. The bathroom was the biggest concession. It was cramped. It was one of those tall sided bathtub things with half a glass wall that was tough to get in and out of, and the shower head was not well positioned. At 6 foot tall, there was about four inches between my head and the ceiling. I don't think the hotel can do much about this; they have to have a tub to get rated with a certain number of stars I think, but these shower/tub combos with the sides are dangerous. What they could control, however is the blackout curtains. In May, the sun sets at around 10:30 and rises around 4:15. The curtains were thick, they just didn't block out the light because they hang too loose. We were able to sleep later one day just the same.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely, if I went back to Tallin...which is unlikely. We're glad we stayed at this hotel. We loved how small it was, loved the lobby, loved the location.
Lovely hotel near Old Town. Staff is responsive and pleasant, room is well decorated and equipped, and breakfast is included and plentiful. Lots of stairs - to rooms and to meals - and recommend trying to get on a low floor if have any mobility concerns. Would return if again in Tallinn!
The breakfast was great and the staff were excellent.
We were on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator As seniors, that took some getting use to.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, we did not eat in the hotel for lunch or dinner.
