Für eine Nacht war es in Ordnung. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt bietet es einfach zu wenig . Da sind Hostels fast besser

Die Lage war sehr schön. Man kann Funchal sehr schön überblicken und ist dennoch schnell zu Fuß unten im Zentrum

Cons:

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Kein Internet im Zimmer im 2. OG. Entweder man geht dafür in die sogenannte Bibliothek , in den Frühstücksraum oder auf die Terrasse. Keine Privatsphäre wenn man vertrauliche Gespräche per Zoom oder Teams führen muss.

Ta bort gamla saker och ha snyggare men äldre stil.

Ex ta bort några fåtöljer i biblioteket, ta bort gamla filtar och kuddar i fåtöljer mm
Köp snyggare, i äldre stil, utemöbler.

Det finns potensial men hotellet saknar finish och stil tyvärr

Relaxing, luxurious and great value.
Pros:

I booked a single room and so was surprised to get a well-sized double with large ensuite. My room was right next to the pool, complete with panoramic views across Funchal, the mountains, and out to sea.
The hotel exudes an old-world charm, in keeping with the traditional feel of the city. The staff were all excellent. They were friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. It was lovely to have such a peaceful and beautiful base to come back to every day.
Breakfast was a daily buffet of some hot items, always eggs and some meat or mushrooms, and a glorious selection of fresh local fruit, cereals, yoghurt, juices and hot and cold drinks.
Nothing was too much for the staff and I would highly recommend this hotel. It was great value and a great base for exploring.

Cons:

I am a regular hiker, but the hotel is up a hill from the town, so be prepared for a bit of an uphill march! It's only ten minutes and you can get taxis for 4 euros so not really an issue.

Not worth the cost the owners charge to stay there
Pros:

The staff were friendly and the hotel is in a good location.

Cons:

The owners, who know nothing about hospitality yet have a constant presence in front of guests, hang around the lobby policing people while they pickle their livers at the bar. They put no money into the place but their staff members do their best.

O quarto encontra-se por terminar a respetiva remodelação.
Dificuldade em pendurar as toalhas. Os supostos suportes de toalhas não funcionavam e descolavam quando se tentava colocar a toalha. Não existia um suporte para o papel higiénico.

Stay at Hotel Monte Carlo - lovely 😍
Pros:

The day staff (a young lady sorry i didnt get her name ) and evening staff (Islam) were super helpful and very informative and kind. The hotel is a very old classic building with lots of character and charm and quite ornate but old features. The library has games, books and a couple of classic old cash registers interestingly. The bedroom was nice, big. Bathroom nice, had opening wooden louvered doors onto a little very cute balcony. There was a fluffy friendly cat called mimi I think. Breakfast was nice and Breakfast staff very helpful.

Cons:

Not that I didn't like, just to note
In the bedroom it was cold no heating or plug in heater, there was a spare blanket.
In the room there was no kettle but you could get a hot drink from the bar to take up.

Pros:

Отель расположен в старом поместье, ему уже около 100 лет. Ремонт не свежий, но и не убитый в хлам. Высокие потолки, лаундж зоны, бассейн. Расположение прекрасное, 5 мин ходьбы от центральной набережной. Недостатков не обнаружил!
