Location, view, breakfast and hotel staff's willingness to assist, guide and respond to requests. Absolutely a beautiful property off the beaten tourist path. Stunning views of the coast and decor was well designed, understated elegance. Every morning each staff member as you passed by them greeted you with an enthusiastic "Bongiorno"! Great way to start any day in Italy! Already recommended hotel to friends who visit Sorrento.
We stopped at the empty bar for cocktails with other guests we met staying at the property. Drinks were very expensive compared to (4) other properties we stayed at during our 18 days visit to Italy. We ordered (2) rounds in all, basic drinks. Bartender made (4) very different drinks for each of us and they all looked the same, in the same coupe glass, without any garnishes or offer of snacks. We had to ask another server who immediately produced a selection of snack items. While the dining area was a buzz, the bar was a buzz kill and we moved our energy elsewhere for the rest of the evening.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Belair. The hotel gave us an unforgettable experience of Sorrento. The breathtaking views, the atmosphere, the beautiful location, the cleanliness and the wonderful service made our stay truly special. Waking up to that incredible view every morning was simply magical. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive, and we felt very well taken care of throughout our stay. This hotel was not just a place to sleep – it became a big part of our Sorrento experience, and I’m so happy we chose it. I would definitely come back.

Newly refurbished - everything works perfectly, spotlessly clean, food on the balcony for breakfast with a view over the sea and views from the room stunning. Live music in the bar in the evenings
This did not bother us however, if you struggle with stairs the hotel is on the side of the cliff over 6 floors - there is a lift but it is slow. It is much quicker to walk.

No additional showers for guests with late flights (check-out time is 12pm). As a courtesy, the reception did extend a (free) 1pm check-out, but it still cut our afternoon by the pool very short.
Separately, taxis are a contentious issue in Sorrento. The local taxi firms appear to charge a minimum fare of €30 for almost every journey, even when the destination is only a 5-10 minute drive away. While the hotel does provide a complimentary one-way shuttle service into town (and collection from the partner beach club in Marina Grande - subject to availability), guests are then left to arrange and pay for their return journey.
A complimentary shuttle service for guests during their stay, or at the very least to/from the ferry port would therefore be a very welcome addition to the hotel’s services. Given the apparent lack of competition among local taxi providers, and the resulting high minimum fares, providing this additional service would offer guests a more convenient and cost-effective way of travelling to and from the hotel.
