A solid hotel down the road from the Obelisk. Early check-in was appreciated (thanks Cristian!). Room was a good size with enough natural light. Decent shower. Didn't have a chance to use the pool. Easy to get around from the location. Would stay again.
WiFi dropped on occasion. Better signage needed for the breakfast area. The room/bar for dinner could do with some atmosphere (diming the lights would do it). Couple of staff a bit cold. Room key-card would sometimes deactivate.

When I called reception about a problem with the aircon or the toilet not stopping flushing, they responded immediately. The laundry was delivered on the same day without a surcharge - many hotels deliver the next day or charge a premium for an 'express service'.
I did bring up to the staff in the breakfast restaurant that the drying and replacing cutlery into containers could be done in the kitchen and not in the dining area because it is an incredibly annoying sound and very loud. The same is true of the collection of dirty plates and cutlery from the tables which is done on a trolley where items are loaded and cause a similar annoying loud noise - with the best of abilities it is difficult for this not to be so, but especially when cutlery is thrown into plastic containers whether clean or dirty. The staff seemed to have got used to it, but myself and other guests (most) were annoyed - judging by the comments made and also that sometimes they would startle as a loud crash happened just behind them within a foot or two. Also, the containers for the bacon and sausages and the one for the scrambled eggs had lids that slammed down loudly. I have never heard such a ruckus in my life in a restaurant at breakfast time when people have just had a night's sleep. Some of the staff at breakfast are also very rude and dictatorial about taking coffee back to your room (as I was doing because I could not stand the noise) even though I intended on returning the cup after I had finished. It feels more like an institution where the inhabitants are very much more inferior than the staff and they should 'put up or shut up'.
